Sun. brunch was excellent and can't beat the value. Service was flawless, will be back.
food arrived very late thus they gave our table free desert. Food was not as great as I expected out to be based on other reviews. Most likely will not return.
The Hostess said we had a very nice table....what she left out was if we liked sitting beside a 20 foot concrete which we did not......found the noise level very loud....not what we liked....could not hold a conversation without raising our voice......food quality was good
We enjoyed a lovely brunch. The little blueberry muffins to start were excellent ( a very nice touch!) and the Eggs Benedict were outstanding. The hollandaise sauce was delicious and the salad was very refreshing. We will certainly be back to enjoy more meals. Thank you!
The food was excellent and our server was wonderful so it was a great time overall. We probably had one of the least desirable tables in the restaurant and the hostess never made eye contact, but the food and service definitely made up for it.
The calamari was the best I've ever had and my friend agreed.
Great food and service. Our waiter was extremely helpful and on top of things. Definitely recommend this place to anyone!
Made reservation thru Open Table. Hostess could not find it but I had the printed copy which was accepted. When we got home there was an e-mail from OT saying they were advised by Coast that we did not turn up. When we called Coast, they found the reservation and that the manager would check into the problem and call us back. That never happened. Poor customer relations. That aside, the meal and service were worth the visit.
Disappointed with the service. Took a long time to order. No one checked on us... Took forever to get the bill. Felt like we were not a priority.
Have only been here for dinner and wanted to try their brunch. Overall great brunch experience. The only reason I was not completely satisfied was that they ran out of peameal bacon. I was advised that the meat substitutions presented would result in an added charge (the other Benny options were a cream cheese crab mixture and mushroom one).
Had the $10 eggs benedicts - Classic with peameal (back) bacon and the portobello mushroom avocado. The 2 poached eggs are each sitting on top of portobello mushrooms instead of an english muffin. Great value - comes with salad and tater tots with ketchup. I don't think Coast was prepared for how popular the $10 eggs bennies would be (which started this weekend). It was really busy - we got there early around 12:30pm and had to wait for our 1pm reservation since no tables were free. Also not enough servers - we never got any refills to our hot waters. We were quite thirsty after the meal which was salty. Brunch took 1.5 hours from the time we were seated to finishing our food - slow kitchen and service.
Were told at the beginning we could only have the table for 1 hour 45 minutes even though we had a reservation - didn't feel like a nice welcome. Then the hostess couldn't find us a table (we walked around the top floor looking lost). Then she found us a table crammed between two others (the back of the chair of another table was right up against our table). I ordered the sable fish and got other fish instead. I didn't say anything at the time because I wasn't 100% sure, but then I got sable fish at another restaurant the following night and can confirm that the one at Coast was not sable fish. I've been to Coast before and have been generally pleased, but this time the service and the quality were not there - which made the hefty bill not worth it.
We had a good time for happy hour. While we enjoyed the food, the service was not up to par with the automatic 18% added to the bill. I know it was a busy day for our server but we have to wait lots of time for her to take our drinks and food order. Her famous line is ‘I’ll be back’ but she didn’t.
It was a great time, food was pretty awesome and tasty! Service was very prompt! I am pretty happy coming here for brunch. I’m a big fan of the glowbal restaurants which is why I always recommend to friends and family!
A great experience with family in from out of town. They come from a place that does not have access to fresh seafood. They were not disappointed. Everything was wonderful; the crab cakes, mussels and clams, outstanding. Highly recommended. The service was great, we had lots of space and time to catch up and visit.
Was recommended to come here by my parents and instantly felt out of place upon arrival. A friend and I were to meet for happy hour and was clear the restaurant caters to the more affluent members of society. It was a busy happy hour but it took a lot of effort to get drinks/order food after the initial drink was served yet those around us seemed to have no issues getting second, third, even fourth rounds while we sat with empty drinks. The manager seems to be serving/checking in on everyone around us as well but seemed to skip over my friend and I.
On the other note food and drinks when we managed to order were good.
Had a great time
Sushi option was excellent! Personal service by Frenchi was appreciated.
The food is just Ok. Service is OK. Definitely expected more with that price level.
Food was excellent and our server was very good
Great meal, great service. Only disappointment was the screaming, crying baby and the rude young man sitting beside my wife
My one complaint is the music. If you look at the age of the clientele, the music could be age appropriate, and not so loud. I asked them to change the music one time and i was told, well the owner likes this music. Is the owner there every night??? Food is great, so i put up with the music.
The experience was good. Sable fish was awesome. Definitely will come back again.
Fantastic restaurant! Really good value, of course it is expensive but surprisingly there are quite a few more affordable items on the menu. The food is delicious and made from what I assume some of the best chefs out there and it all arrived well on time. The servers seemed a little more "stern" than what I'm used to but he was incredibly knowledgeable. Great experience overall.
I just moved back here and Coast use to be a go to for me many years ago. Fast forward 6 years later I don’t know what happened to that place. I ordered the lobster and it was tiny! They also didn’t bring me mash potatoes so they had to afterwards same with my date. Overall the server was friendly the food quality was mediocre at best I will probably not go there again.
good was excellent! crab cakes are so yummy! had the 3 course lobster menu and hubby had the rib eye steak! creme brule was delish. we will definately come back!
Mixed review. Food was decent, but not great. Like my $44 pan seared scallops dish was good in the scallops portion, but the pork belly that comes with it was way too salty. It also took nearly a half hour between our appetizers being done and our main course being ready. I’m certain they forgot about our order, which happens, but an apology would have been nice, or maybe taking off the price of a drink? The table we were at was also within elbow bumping range of the couple beside us, a little awkward for a date night. Service was friendly. I noticed they bent over backward to appease a table where I assumed they complained (overheard the wait staff and manager(?) saying do whatever you can to make it right) but I guess because I didn’t complain loudly, no one bothered to see how it could be made right. Like I said, it was sort of a “meh” experience.
Food was fabulous as always. Service also great
Best food and service in Vancouver! We will definitely go there again for Mother's Day Dinner. I thought they could improve on butter for lobster but I rounded up to 5 star.
Great service and good food!
Food was good. Service was very slow in spite of it being a moderately busy Wednesday lunch time.
I don't mind the food at Coast but the service from my last visit left a lot to be desired.
I was accompanied by a vegan friend who had to send their meal back twice because it didn't appear that the staff their understood what vegan meant which is disappointing given that in this day in age most places are not only incredibly accommodating to alternative lifestyles, but also enjoy the challenge of creating an inclusive menu.
I am not a vegan, nor do I have any dietary restrictions, but I felt bad for my friend.
Friendly staff and attentive service - server was very well informed about the fish on the menu and had time to discuss.
We went to The Coast for the first time ever during DINE OUT Vancouver. We had Stephanie as a server who was, hands down, the best server we have had anywhere. Ever. She was absolutely charming, welcoming, helpful and made our date night experience simply perfect. As for the food, we did not end up ordering from the DINE OUT menu. Instead, we shared a calamari appy, we each had a clam chowder and then we shared the seafood tower. It was all delicious, fresh and well presented. We were very surprised at the portion size of the soup, especially. The clam chowder was DELICIOUS and a huge bowl! For a nice night out or special occasion, we will absolutely visit again.
We went for dine Vancouver but ended up eating thier special for super bowl day. Ribeye steak, rib and lobster .
We felt that combo should be heavy so we didn’t order any starters but the server surprised us with sample of Salmon croquet.
Thier dessert portion are good for sharing. Key lime pie is tasty but I felt heavy on the cream topping.
Overall first time experience is excellent so we will come back!
The flavor of the dishes were great but not that hot when they were served. The lobster bisque was very runny for a bisque...........not sure if the regular menu is also like that.
After booking my reservation with open table I received a call from the restaurant warning me I had a time limit and I had to be done with my table by 8:30pm(as they had another booking). I was taken back at first but thought my husband and I could keep our date night dinner within the time frame. When arriving at the restaurant we were again reminded that we had to be finished within a certain timeframe. After sitting at our table another waitress came to also tell us we had to be finished by 7:50pm. Now this is 40 minutes earlier than what I was already called about. I felt extremely rushed. Very worried if we would be out in time or finished our meal for that matter. The feeling of rushing our order and eating our food was more disappointing than I thought. We didn't even have time for an after dinner coffee or dessert. Our waiter recommended a restaurant close by...
The food was delicious but like I said I would have liked to enjoy it instead of rushing to eat and knowing we had to hurry.
We were there for dining out. Everything is good except that we cannot feel full after we have finished the meal. One thing to mention was that I just know that the pork can be cooked rare as the waiter told us it is a good pork meat and refuse to replace the meat. As it was the only piece done in that way out of other 4 pieces, I am just not confident to eat that rare pork meat.
Happy hour menu is awesome. Lots of selection and good value. We were seated very close to other tables. Only small downsides: Our oysters took a long time and the server seemed to forget about us and we couldn’t flag her down to pay.
Our dinner was great. The staff were very attentive and food was delicious. We had an assortment of appies that we shared. Their clam chowder was very tastey and clams and mussels had a great sauce for dipping bread. Would definitely go back.
