Coast - Hilton Head
The beachfront bar offers a casual and relaxing destination featuring a spacious wrap-around bar providing seasonal evening entertainment and a variety of specialty drinks and frozen cocktails
Bar Service: 11:30am-9pm
Happy Hour: 4-6pm
Food and our waiter were very good. Very pricey for the amount of food you get though. Note that you do have to pay $6 for parking if you’re not staying in Sea Pines. Happy Hour was only if you were seated at the bar too. We wanted to sit outside and the server would not let us because she said it might rain. Yet we watched other groups get seated outside while we dined. Maybe they were staying on the property? We felt a lot like outsiders. Could have been a much better experience.
Coast did not disappoint. The dinner menu offered a variety that has something for everyone from blackened shrimp nachos to burgers and steak to fresh seafood. Coast has a fabulous view, fantastic food and service. Thanks for a wonderful dinner.
Food was bland. Also 2 people in party got sick from fish tacos.
Wonderful dining experience with a beautiful view of the ocean. Don’t understand some of the reviews as this is our second year coming to this restaurant and both dining experiences have been outstanding from the moment we were greeted to thanking us as we were leaving. We had two other couples with us who had not been here before who definitely said they will come again. If you want a great ocean dining experience this is the restaurant for you.
This is a must if you would like ocean front dining in Hilton Head. Very spacious patios and bar area. There was music at 6pm. The man took requests and was excellent. Food amazing. We ordered the salmon and the catch of the day grouper.
The food was very fresh and the service was exceptional!
The service was absolutely awful. It made the whole experience bad even though the food was decent. But for the prices they charge-the service should have been more buttoned up.
Fabulous food, service and ambience!! Romantic dining by the sea!!
Great food, beautiful view. Always a treat for any occasion.
My husband Josh and I were celebrating our First Anniversary, and Coast made it amazing from start to finish!! Conroy in the Ocean Lounge was super friendly, Liz at Coast’s bar made the perfect Moscow Mule, Beatrice (one of the Managers) kindly introduced herself and presented us with a bottle of wine and congratulated us on our anniversary, and Nikkia our server was the best!!! Everyone was so attentive and accommodating! We truly felt so special the entire time! The food was also amazing! Husband had the blackened Mahi tacos and I had the Baby Field Green salad! To top it off they gifted us with a super delicious dessert! Overall, we had a great night and the staff was amazing!! We will absolutely be back every time we come to Sea Pines! :)
Our server, Mike, was great! He gave us the perfect recommendations for drinks, appetizers, and entrees. He also has a wealth of knowledge about the island and made sure to suggest other places to check out on our stay. Food was awesome. We had the oysters for an appetizer. And for our entrees we had the scallops and grouper. We will definitely be back thanks to Mike!
Top notch restaurant that accommodated my shellfish allergy perfectly! My family loves seafood, but i can't have it. Great place and Brian took great care of us. This was our second time there this trip! Keep up the good work!
Loved this place. Great food and the service was fantastic. Lovely views and enjoyable music. After dinner we headed upstairs to the Lounge (their sister restaurant) for sunset ocean views and drinks. It was fantastic. Highly recommended.
Pretty good, nothing terrible about it but nothing spectacular at all
great food...great service...great ambience and location...
The food in general was very good, but expensive. The service was good, as this was our waitress very first table. She did a fine job, and smiled. The menu need some non-seafood dishes like meatloaf, or short ribs. They have steaks; burgers, and seafood.
Nice view of ocean. Good service. Food was so so.
Asked for fisherman platter to be broiled instead of fried. Result was underwhelming. Top of fish and shrimp looked under cooked and not very appealing.
Limited dessert options led us to go to nearby ice cream store instead.
My wife’s first visit to Hilton Head and this was our last night dinner. Ocean front view, beautiful night. Excellent.
Our server Amie was an absolute gem. Great knowledge of the Island and a great talent.
We have never been disappointed when choosing Coast. It’s become a reliable family tradition when we visit HHI. Great food, great setting by the sea, and a very attentive staff.
Best thing going for a good meal great atmosphere. Wonderful service
Music and we walked on the beach after with the kids. Fun to see dogs everywhere.
Partner my partner was served probably the worst chicken that she’s had in a restaurant in recent years may
Lovely setting, indoor and out! Lobster roll was phenomenal! Shrimp & grits were delicious, but a larger portion would be nice. Overall, a superb dining experience!
Simply fantastic food. Very small so has an intimate vibe. Our waitress, ‘Willow’ was a sweetheart!
Amazing dinner with an amazing view! It was raining so we sat inside looking straight out at the deck and water. Debbie and allison were wonderful and very knowledgeable about the restaurant and menu. We definitely be going back!
We visited Coast for a vacation dinner, and what a GREAT choice! The grouper “classic style” and the Beachclub Seafood Platter were DELICIOUS!
The focus on local fish and veggies and the beautiful but relaxed dining room overlooking the beach made it a perfect experience.... and our server, Debbie took great care of us....We put Coast on our “must” list for our next visit to HHI!
We were very disappointed. When we looked at reviews for coast, we decided we wanted to eat upstairs since jazz music would be playing. We were told that our reservation was automatically made for downstairs because upstairs was for upper class. What does that mean? We were all dressed for a nice night out, no jeans etc. We were told we could eat upstairs but outside only. I didn’t make a big deal since it was my husbands birthday and trying to get a new reservation on a Saturday night for 4 in Hilton Head would be next to impossible. We decided to eat indoors downstairs. Our salads and soups came out and we weren’t offered fresh pepper, which was ok, but then the salt and pepper shakers on the table were empty. We ordered our meals, and the food was good. Not fantastic but good. I had made them aware of the birthday when I made the reservation. So the waitress came out with a piece of cheesecake for him but none of us were offered coffee or tea and the rest of us were not offered dessert. Lol. I couldn’t believe it. We waited for the waitress to come back to our table but we couldn’t even get her attention. I had to get another waitress to ask for our check so finally our waitress came with the check We heard such good things about Coast and it was extremely disappointing to say the least. When you go to an upscale restaurant you expect to get upscale service which coincide with the upscale Prices and also not got insulted by the staff. There are plenty of good waterfront restaurants on Hilton Head and we will not return to Coast. We have received better service at a burger joint.
Third time we've been here - whenever we travel to HHI we dine at Coast
Great menu, great ambiance, great service
We came in at 4:30 for early dinner. Great view, but don’t train your crew while we are dining. Don’t have staff hang out in the bar preparing for a busy dinner by goofing off in front of customers.
Great venue, water views, food and service was excellent
Coast is a dinner restaurant but their lunch was spectacular. Perfect day outside along the beach, and Kris was an excellent host to us.
This is a great restaurant with excellent food. I gave a few categories four stars because there was a family there with small kids who were singing very loudly (for twenty minutes non-stop, encouraged by parents to continue) and the staff did not intervene. It was an expensive, nice dinner out, and the noise level was deafening. We have four kids of our own, so I am not anti-kid by any stretch. This was just over the top and I’ve honestly never experienced anything like it in an upscale restaurant. My other reason for giving less than five stars across the board is that I found the menu to be somewhat limited. I would have liked to see crab legs and lobster offered with at least one other choice of prime beef. (The only beef currently on the menu is NY Strip.). The food was excellent though, as was the service. I will definitely visit again.
The local grouper fish was delicious. I had the kale salad and it was not only good, but the presentation was beautiful. Tasty apple balsamic dressing. Free dessert or round of proseco for birthday. Dessert menu was limited.
You can't beat the ambiance of Coast. Eating delicious food overlooking the ocean is relaxing and memorable. The swordfish was fantastic, as was the shrimp and grits. A special thanks and note of appreciation goes to our server, Will. He was attentive, knowledgeable and friendly.
Beautiful setting right on the water. They have a multi-level deck outside that seats a good amount. The menu has a good variety and the food was very good. The grouper and snapper were excellent. I was not personally a fan of the truffle fries my snapper preparation came with. They were more like potato sticks. The risotto would make a better choice. The service was great too. It was my birthday and they went out of their way to make it special. We will definitely be back!
Food and service were very good. Everyone was prompt and courteous. I would certainly recommend it. We will be dining there again.
Great atmosphere, food & view of the ocean!
It was our 25th Anniversary and it couldn’t have been better. Our waitress, Laynie was incredible! We will be back soon!
The atmosphere was beautiful, scenic, and inviting. The live music in the background was entertaining. Our server, Lisa, helped to make my birthday special by taking pictures and bringing me a special dessert. Lisa also made a suggestion for a lemon sauce on the fish and it was simply delicious. Yes, I would recommend The Coast!
Service was a little lacking. Service forgot several items. Food was ok small portions and we prefer the seafood to be served warm instead of in ice. We will be back. It is a beautiful place.
We had the Grouper and it was devine. The atmosphere in the restaurant is amazing.
You must experience this restaurant. The food and place was awesome!!!
