Had the Sunday Brunch and was delicious...baked eggs with polenta and shrimp with grits. Always start with oysters and they were delightful. One of the best mignonette around
Our server was polite, knowledgeable and pleasant. Used the valet parking service and he attendant was quick and polite. Great afternoon at a place we always look forward to being at. And let’s face it has one of the best views in New England!
I go to this restaurant frequently and I am never disappointed
We hadn’t been in years now we don’t know why would definitely go again and bring the family!
Felicia was the best!
Our party of four had 4 different main courses and 4 different starters and all were excellent. Have 5 different drinks and all were spot on. The view of Narragansett Bay was outstanding and our server was terrific. Perfect evening out.
It was not crowded when we were there which helped with the noise. Service was outstanding, and the food was superb (fussy world-travelers were in the group and raved about the oceanside setting and the great food).
Ocean was furious and fun to watch!!
Coast Guard House is one of my favorite places to go when I am up in Rhode Island. Great food, great service. The view is beautiful and I would definitely recommend it!
Food and drinks were delightful. Our server was pleasant with a nice sense of humor. Very knowledgeable about menu and wine list. A wonderful evening for these sisters just having a nice evening out. Our server even brought out a small sample of the pasta sauce that was used on the special this evening to see if it was something one of us would like since it was a new sauce we had never had. That’s being well taken care of!!!!!
Beautiful views. Delicious food. Excellent service!
The staff was extremely accommodating and it was clear the food was prepared on demand and fresh. I'd definitely visit this place again.
The scenery and food are outstanding. Reasonably priced for the quality of food. The service was very good; Lauren W was our waitress.T he tables are a little close together therefore you can hear conversations at nearby tables. The open table reservation gave only 2 options for time 4:00 or 4:15 and the reservations were made 24 hours in advance. When we arrived there were many tables empty? Our request was to sit by a window and we were seated near a wall with windows on either side.
I had the lobster roll and it was delicious. Packed with (more than I expected) lobster and the fries were very good. We also had stuffed clams very good. I had their green salad👍. My fiance had the grilled octopus and said it was very good. He had this seafood over linguini special and said it was very good. Would I go back? ABSOLUTELY. A bit pricey and the mudslide is awesome. I want to see if the prices change for the summer.
Took my girlfriend here to celebrate a year together, was not disappointed!
I requested a window table with view of fireplace and we were given exactly what we asked for. Restaurant was very busy when we arrived at 4:45pm. The section we were sitting in was definitely the quieter section which was nice. Enjoyed the view of the ocean and the waves hitting the rocks. Candles were lit on each table and several in each window. We had lobster ravioli and the special of fetuccini with lobster and shrimp. Both were delicious. The artisan green salad was okay, very large, but not much in it besides lettuce and onion. For dessert we shared the special of red velvet cake which was also delicious and so very pretty with flowers on top.
We had reservations for Valentine's Day and it was a great choice. There were roses, candles, and petals everywhere! We had a window seat that overlooked the water and the view was spectacular. Our server was terrific and she seemed very happy to be working on this special occasion. We enjoyed a nice bottle of wine, lobster mac & cheese, and cheesecake. The meals were generous with lots of lobster meat in the servings and our cheesecake was delicious and not overly sweet. It was a perfect setting, view, service, and food for a spacial occasion.
We went to the CGH for a Valentine's Day lunch. It did not disappoint. The ambiance was fantastic, ocean view from virtually every table, food amazing (delicious bread and butter, mussels, lobster ravioli and fish tacos) and our waitress Meghan was the best. We are repeat patrons and drive 1.5 hours to get there. Worth the drive!
My husband and I went to the candlelight night which happened to be the 13th of Feb.,so it was our valentine treat. It was so beautifully decorated with candles and roses! The valentine menu was awesome! The ownership here really care about the customer and show their appreciation to all customers.👍🏼 We had the shellfish fettuccine which was yummy.😋
Very loud on a busy Saturday evening!
Our server did the best she could...had to actually lean in and speak to us individually at times.
I have heard about The Coast Guard House since I was a kid but this is the first time I have taken the trip to dine there, I was not disappointed and I will visit again.
Great venue! Great food!
One of my favorite places!
Had an amazing experience 9 months prior - outstanding food! - so decided to return. Pasta special was too salty and not as good as prior special (different recipe). Drinks were flat and over price - receipt stated name of drink which was not what was ordered. Dessert choice was limited but tasted nice.
A delicious late afternoon lunch with a magnificent view! Service was very good, although a bit slow. Would definitely recommend it!
Once again we were treated with a wonderful dining experience from the bar staff to wait staff everything was great...our meals were prepared as requested, perfectly. My ONLY critique is preference based that there could have been a toasted coconut garnish on my coconut sorbet rather than plainly served... other than that, I would recommend the Coast Guard House when in Narragansett to anyone looking for a good meal out.
We received great service! The second we sat down we were waited on. Waters came quickly and so did our appetizer.
The clam chowder is delicious... So is pretty much anything else they serve.
Love having lunch at Coast Guard House on a sunny, winter afternoon! Spectacular unobstructed view of the water while enjoying conversation over very yummy meal selections. My friend was delighted with fish and chips and I was equally happy with fish tacos. They were served unconstructed which is a super idea since that way they do not become soggy! I will be back here for sure.
We had a great lunch— four girlfriend celebrating a birthday. Excellent service, food, and view made it a fine winter’s day!
Exceptional service with a great twist on menu items. Had a Japanese/Asian fusion taste to everyday classics — salmon, steak, popcorn shrimp. Beautiful and scenic ocean views.
Probably the best N. E. clam chowder in the world. No kidding. Perfect.
The rest of our meals were merely excellent.
Did not like that they charged 2.00 extra for 2 ice cubes in a scotch
A group of friends enjoyed a great luncheon at the Coast Guard House. The food was outstanding. We all thoroughly enjoyed the onion soup and a pasta special. It was a perfect event.
Exceptional view... usually great service, fell short today.
Off season is the time to visit. The space isn’t crowded with beach goers but the view is as beautiful as in the summer. Edibles and wine list never disappoint.
Great views on a very cold Monday. Food was delicious and so were the drinks. Service was a bit confusing, but straightened out in the end.
Whenever we are in the area we try to stop at the Coast Guard House. We love the location, the ambiance and the graceful service. We have never been disappointed.
From Long Island visiting Family in the area and it was our 1st time back since it reopened. It was Fabulous Great Food and Drink, Lovely Views will recommend and go back.
Extrawsome Stuffies !!! Saw all tables around us having or had Stuffies !!! Outstanding scenery from everywhere ! Waitress was sparkling and very attentive !
The special "moment" soup of the day was corn and way too sweet, the fish sandwich special was the tail end of pollack with a little aioli for $17.00. Friend had fish and chips and was very happy. @ others had the grilled eggplant, very, very thin so all you taste is the batter and it was way too greasy. Nice view and lovely restaurant, but not worth the drive to get there.
The food was very good. In fact the BBQ octopus was sublime. Callie, our server, was amazing, attentive and knowledgeable. The one issue that seriously derailed an otherwise great dinner was the restaurant’s refusal to honor our Open Table $25 reward. I had made the reservation through the app and noted the $25 gift certificate and even had the physical copy with me (along with the codes to process it). The manager stated the restaurant was not affiliated with the program even though they clearly accepted the reservation. He confirmed with the owner that they don’t participate. Makes no sense as either Open Table or restaurant is wrong. I showed him the app and he said he couldn’t do a thing. Made us feel awkward for even trying. Very poor customer service as it was clear they didn’t have the right information. Beware!
Always great. Nice meal, friendly service, beautiful atmosphere. No complains, never have had any.
