The monthly candle light dinners are delightful and a wonderful idea. The wine selection can accommodate all price points and the drinks are excellent. The linquini and clam sauce is one of the best and full of clams. I would go there just to have their bread sliced in small, manageable slices served with sweet butter. The desserts are always appealing and delicious and we usually share one. Our server, Megan was so pleasant and efficient, even on a busy night. We've already made our reservations for the new few candle light nights!
When they advertise sea food, sea fiends, sea view they are spot on. Great place for all three.
Great spot for dining. Reasonable prices for better than average fare. Can't beat the view on a sunny day.
We went for brunch and it was great. lobster scramble (minus the sweetbreads) was awesome. service was great and the view is perfect. Make a reservation!
Too bad this is not A+. Good location. Mediocre restaurant
One of my favorites. Food, friends and location summer or winter
It was ok but noisy and food was below what we were used to getting at CGH.
Dinner to celebrate 20 year anniversary. Service was slow for a Sunday night. Food was ok, but not worth the price for dinner. Great place for lunch but won't be back for dinner.
Beautiful view, great food. Would definitely go back.
Wonderful food and a gorgeous view make this a unique, terrific place. Excellent raw seafood, lobster, fish, burgers, fish tacos, salads. Spectacular view.
CGH never disappoints. Latest visit was for Beef/Seafood Wellington Wednesday. Extensive wine list allowed us to properly complement our meals. Server (Lauren) was excellent. Will try seafood Wellington on next Wednesday visit. Chao.
Incredible food, view and service. Very accommodating offering other gluten-free options.
Great dining experience. Superb food and service. Best ambience in Narragansett !
We were recommended by a friend. We had a late afternoon meal. The setting on the water is absolutely beautiful. The food and service were great. Wish it was closer - would love to be a regular.
Have been here for lunch and it was very good. Went recently for dinner. And although the service was good the food was served cold. Had to send it back to the kitchen to be heated while my husband ate his dinner.
Enjoyed our lobster rolls - and kale salad- food was delicious and Restaurant views just exquisite- this time our service was kind but a bit slow.
Food was excellent. Table had a gorgeous view. My daughter and I have been there many times
Beautiful restaurant & lounge overlooking Narragansett Bay and Town Beach!! Great service in an "energetic" and friendly atmosphere. During the summer months the outdoor patio areas and upstairs/roof bars are a 'must visit'...and the CGH staff is always on point!!
Choice of Chardonnays by glass not very good, though La Crema was available by bottle; Wm Hill would also be a nice choice. Lobster Mac and cheese was very dry, just tasting of buttered bread crumbs on the Mac; ample lobster. Lobster bisque very good. Scallops were very fresh and tasty, but slivers of leek, etc. and watery sauce made it hard to eat. Grilled vegetables very tasty and unusual. No Caesar salad on menu, though online, and scallops online were shown with polenta and I think tomato jam, much better than the current scallop version. Server Elizabeth was a delight.
My sister wanted to eat seafood while we were visiting family. She looked on her phone and found Coast Guard House. She also wanted a restaurant where we could see the ocean. Coast Guard House fit the bill and we enjoyed our food and time there.
The swordfish was cooked perfectly. The view was spectacular. The service was first class.
The Coast Guard House is a beautiful restaurant in a beautiful location. The food is good and the service is too! It's a must if you are visiting Narragansett.
The calamari has always been excellent, but tough this time, and it was quickly corrected without question. Attentive service with no hint of being rushed.
Candlelight dinner nights are a great event! Will come again.
Food was excellent service was okay could have been better.
We went to the monthly Candle Light dinner and the restaurant looked lovely. We enjoyed wine, delicious linguini & clams, and 2 tremendous desserts. I am always appreciative that the chef let's me switch to penne and goes easy on the garlic, per my request. We have already booked next month's Tuesday Candle Light dinner!
Beautiful, historic restaurant right on the ocean for any time... but Candlelight Dinners at the Coast Guard House are absolutely elegant! The seasonal decorating & lighting create an ambience that relaxes everyone, from diners to the staff. Nothing like it!
We always love coming to the Coast Guard House as it is consistently great. We ordered the halibut, the monkfish, the pork special and the lobster ravioli. All were great except for the lobster ravioli which is usually great. The pasta was very undercooked and the sauce was too strong with the flavor of sherry. The lobster inside was ground up and not appealing in taste or texture.
We always enjoy the Brussel sprouts and all the appetizers. The bread pudding was good!
Will be back!
I can’t decide which was better... the view or the food!
My husband and I both enjoyed our meals... the tomato bacon jam with the polenta and scallops was extraordinary! Thanks
Excellent food service and you can’t beat the view! Our go to for special occasions and to take our out of town guests!
The dining room was very loud when we arrived. The salad we ordered did not come out until after our meal had arrived. The food was good. I have had better meals at the restaurant.
Wonderful location with a distinct outdoor presence. The meal presentation was great and we enjoyed our dinners immensely. Michael, our waiter, was very attentive and personable. We would definitely stop there again if in the area.
Coast Gaurd House is our restaurant if choice when guests ckme to visit. The beauty of the state of Rhode Island is captured in this establishment. We live to come here without guests as well.
Coast Guard House has been on our list of places to try since we toured The Towers for my daughters wedding. She has since decided not to be be married at The Towers; she is doing a small backyard wedding next year; but I decided to take her and a few others, for a special birthday lunch. Boy were we all so happy with our meals, ambiance, view, on and on and on. We will definitely be back and will recommend to everyone!
Love this place. Go frequently. Can’t say anything negative.
I hadn’t seen my friend since high school. She visited, and I wanted her to see and feel the uniqueness of Rhode Island. The Coast Guard House provided a real Rhode Island experience on the water. The food and ambiance were perfect.
We have been to the Coast Guard Restaurant several times, mostly for lunch. This was our “date night” and we were unfortunately seated at a corner table near a party of 12 very loud voices. We asked for a table switch and the staff came to our immediate aid. We then had a nice little table near the bar where the volume was more tolerable. Food was excellent, portions just right. Service was good and friendly.
We had a problem making our original reservation time and they held the table for us so we didn’t have to rush SO KIND. Food was divine but that’s a given here. Server was knowledgeable, made us comfortable and never interrupted us when talking, our every need was met. When first went in music was a bit loud as speaker was near table Asked serverif it could be lowered which he handled without skipping a beat. Valet service was perfect as usual Polite and courteous Another great experience
Fabulous afternoon with friends all the staff friendly, courteous just so so nice
