Went for lunch on a sunny Saturday and the place was hopping but the wonderful acoustics keep the noise level low. We had a reservation for six and were seated at a lovely table with beautiful views of the water. Great menu choices, delicious food, outstanding desserts, and attentive, friendly service. Excellent.

Thoroughly enjoyed everything from the awesome cocktails to apps and then entrees. Try the Jettison Rocket cocktail...sooo good! We had the scallop dinner and the sesame tuna and both were delish! The view is gorgeous and sitting around the firepit after dinner was great. Our server Erica was super friendly which made the experience really enjoyable. The noise level was loud but we felt it was fun!

Food was excellent. Unfortunately we were sat in the very back far corner next to a large table with many small children. I was so loud and the worst seat in the house. I enjoyed finishing my wine outside in the back. I think next time I will need to request to sit outside or at least near the window and not in the awful back corner.

The hostess let us change our seats to a more desirable spot because we had reservations. This visit was much nicer than our last and the meal was delicious and service was good

The staff was amazing. We didn’t feel rushed. The live music was at an entertaining level yet you could hear and converse with the people at your table. Highly recommend

Beautiful setting and really good food! Fish very fresh and great crispy eggplant. Our waitress Tiffany was fantastic! My only recommendation is to actually add clams to clam chowder, they were non existent or very small.

We hadn't been to the Coast Guard House since before the last hurricane gutted the building. The "new" ambiance is still excellent and the view of the ocean, even from the seats not on the windows, continues to be stunning. The Coast Guard House can be noisy so on a summer's evening (a Tuesday) the place was busy and quite loud. The service was sincere, but somewhat distracted by the larger parties. One glass of wine I ordered was never received -- although it didn't appear on the bill either. Our meals arrived quite promptly however and were cleared equally as fast. The menu has not changed much, but sadly for my wife, is not very vegetarian-friendly -- so if you're a vegetarian plan on a salad and maybe a side or two. My dinner, linguini with clams, had excellent fresh clams, perfectly cooked, but the linguini was under-cooked and stuck together. So I left with mixed feelings about the Coast Guard House...

The location can not be beat! Gorgeous view of the ocean. Food was delicious and presented in an enticing manner. The halibut was fresh and the entire dish a delight for the senses. Flan for dessert was light and beautifully prepared.

We had not been here since we were newlyweds in the 80's. It has been remodeled, but everything about it is wonderful, except the parking, which is naturally a hassle in the peak of the summer season. Don't miss it!

I wanted to like this place, but I'm not sure I'd go back. In full disclosure, we dined during a peak time, in peak season. However, I expected more given its ratings and prices. It was packed and hectic; we got stuck at a table in the back, even though I had made a reservation more than two months in advance; and the servers, though friendly, were tired and a bit slow. The food was also mixed. The lobster/corn tamale and halibut with succatash were excellent -- flavorful without being over seasoned. The linguine with clams was also decent, but the calamari and lobster mac and cheese were rather bland. The latter could have used some sharp cheese, a bit more salt and/or some fresh parsley on top, among other things. Top notch view and good wine list, but for that, we could have gone to the more casual outdoor bar upstairs.

We had gone to dinner a couple weeks ago. another beachtown resturant and I ordered a N.Y. strip, she ordered monkfish. I tried the fish. it was awesome, wished I had gotten it.
sooo, I ordered it here.. it was repulsive. although our first last year at CG house experience was great.

I went there for my birthday because it was my favorite place to have date night with my husband sitting out on the back deck listening to the waves crash; and my sister and niece were here from MN celebrating with me and we time for a quick lunch. I told the host when making a reservation that it was my special day; so they were aware, and the server didn’t even acknowledge it the entire lunch and at the end didn’t even bring something special out as I was expecting. Was the only chance I had all day to celebrate my birthday, blow out a candle and enjoy my day with my family and needless to say she didn’t make it a special one to remember. I was a bit disappointed at this and expected a bit more from a place of this magnitude.

I just want to thank you very much for the best hospitality on my wife's Birthday. The Bartenders, waiters, concierge were amazing. That's what makes a place special. The views are beautiful but the staff is what make the Coast Guard House what it is. Outstanding. Thank you for making my wife Birthday special.

Coast Guard House was on our must list this week when we drove up to RI from NJ where we have lots of great seafood and water views. Having been there years ago and remembering a delicious meal, great ambiance and breathtaking views, we were hoping for another outstanding experience. We were not disappointed. Outstanding.

We were not impressed with the Coast Guard House mainly due to the poor service. We ordered a bottle of wine and two mixed drinks. The waiter brought the two mixed drinks and never brought the wine. We finished our appetizers and still no wine! We couldn’t even flag him down to ask him because he was no where to be seen. When we finally got him and and said “the wine?” he went to go get it - no apology - nothing. During the meal I asked him three times for a glass of ice- after the third time he finally brought it. The craziest part? He brought a basket of bread to our table as soon as we finished our meal- never gave us bread when we sat down - not a good experience.

The food and locale were excellent as was service at the bar, but the service when seated for dinner was mediocre at best. The waiter had a hard time opening the wine, never checked in after delivering the main course, dropped off dessert menues without asking if we wanted coffee, took forever to come back to ask if we wanted dessert and took his time delivering the check. The bus boy was attentive with bread, water and a doggie bag. I have not tipped less than 20% in years, but this guy only recieved 15% and I debated leaving that much but I know tips are split with others beside the waiter. He really marred an otherwise wonderful evening!

The view is breathtaking from anywhere in the restaurant. The Sunday Brunch menu did not include any salad plates, pancakes or crepes, Eggs Benedict...unimaginative. It was very noisy. You cannot eat the view and the noise spoiled my brunch experience. The food was nice, but boring. The service was very good, but rushed. I enjoyed visiting the Coast Guard restaurant much more when we ate lunch outside. Inside and for brunch or dinner leaves much to be desired.
