One entree returned because it sat in kitchen to the point of being soggy.
Felt like a prisoner to the Ritz
A casual dining experience. Sat outside on screened in area with heat lamps. Creative menu from piled high burger and chicken and waffles to fresh catch of the day. Dessert was most creative - carmel apple - 3 kinds of geleto (cinnamon, apple and vanilla) drizzled with caramel set atop a bowl of liquid nitrogen! Came out swirling with smoke. Service was excellent. The Ritz itself was obviously the hub of island with live music, fire pits and out door movie for kids.
Outdoor patio option made for a pleasant lunch overlooking the pool area below. Very attentive and knowledgeable service. Special of fish prepared creatively. Drinks a little pricey and not made exactly per menu description but fine anyway. Able to accomodate vegan. Limited menu choices but adequate for lunch. Recommended.
Food was outstanding. We were there during spring break so it was a little noisy outside with more kids than usual. We both had the Cobia special. Flavors were awesome.
We expected much more from the Ritz. Felt like we were at Disney with low quality, over priced food. Couldn’t even finish the meal.
Another perfect meal, always consistent.
It was excellent
Service was amazing! The food was great as well, particularly the BBQ shrimp and salmon. Would recommend anyone looking for a casual upscale restaurant. Heaters are outside in case it it chilly outside. Loved the design and menu options, would highly recommend!
The food was outstanding! Worth coming just for the food. Service was mediocre at best, just not what you expect from the Ritz.
Poor service. Char grilled oysters came out cold - server just shrugged it off and didn’t offer to replace it. Meals were ok but our server was pretty much absent the entire dinner. When I asked if they validate parking for guests he said no. Asked at the hostess desk and they gladly validated our ticket. DO NIT WASTE YOUR TIME OR MONEY. Food was average at best. I’ve come to expect more out of Ritz restaurants - this one was a major disappointment.
Very enjoyable dining experience--had lunch and breakfast here and loved both. Superb service! Excellent food served in wonderful surroundings.
Menu is better now. Noise level high and too many kids - it no longer feels like ‘fine dining’.
Bar area redesign ... Ritz ‘elegancy‘ is gone.
Coast was ok. Due the location at the Ritz, the prices are astronomical. We spent close to $300 on two steaks, a salmon and a kids Buffet. Note - the steaks were delicious. The salmon was average. The Tito’s were $15 per drink. Yikes! The view is great. I like the open air patio. The inside bar area is ‘meh’. If you are outside for a sunset it’s gorgeous.
Excellent restaurant with gorgeous views. Outstanding service with detailed interest in meeting guests expectations. The lobster rolls were perfect, fresh lobster, perfectly toasted rolls and a cute presentation. I enjoyed dining here and look forward to coming back
Had a server who seemed a little put off that we were there. He wasn't too knowledgeable about the oysters, which had been pre-shucked and left out a bit.
Otherwise, the meal was fantastic and the price-to-quality was great. In spite of our service issue, I will return for light fare and cocktails.
Definitely not Ritz Carlton standard here on Amelia Island. Oysters came out room temp so we asked them to warm them up. Pretty sure they were popped in the microwave as they cam out shriveled and overheated.
The dirty oyster plates were left on our table even after I asked our waitress and another server to remove them. Such an etiquette faux pas!!!!
AS if the restaurant experience wasn't lackluster enough, it took the valets about 20 minutes to bring our car up. We were so annoyed we just couldn't tip them. Tips are for good service; Coast and the RC Amelia Island doesn't give it!!
Drink and food service were very slow. It was a Friday night and they weren’t busy. Guest ordered butternut squash ravioli and almost all of them had no filling in them. They comp’d the entree but it was very disappointing.
Impeccable food, ambiance, and service as always. My husband enjoyed the mahi-mahi special and I ordered the NY strip. My steak was cooked to perfection, and I was able to swap the potatoes for the collard greens which were delicious!!! Pat was our server and she saw to our every need.
My lobster rolls and seafood gumbo were utterly delish. I would only suggest on the salads to offer more dressing. We all agreed our dressing was scant and most like a little extra. The seating area with a view was small. The large table they would not seat the 4 of us at should have been 2 small tables which could be broken apart when no large parties have reserved.
Good like always
Great place and service
Pleasant outdoor dining on the well-heated patio. Server Pat and others did an outstanding job. Snapper with crispy skin was excellent, grouper was just good.
Amazing server named Pat. She was efficient friendly and an excellent server. We had been there two nights before and the service slow to a crawl, not this time. Ask for Pat she was wonderful!
Great service to start but slowed down to a crawl by the end of the dinner
Great service and food!
Casual dining with fresh, locally sourced fare. Delicious food in a nice atmosphere.
Very pleased with all aspects.
We had the Valentine’s Day meal and everything was spectacular. The ambience was very romantic. Even though it was chilly outside the restaurant had heaters strategically placed to keep us warm.
The food was delectable and portions were spot on. We will definitely return.
Very enjoyable evening, good food, excellent service. Wife’s birthday treat at end of dinner was a nice touch. We will be back for other special occasions.
If you're staying at the Ritz you have very few options on site to eat. Coast was one I hit multiple times while in town for a conference and honestly wish it was better. Big issues are noise, poor service (when busy) and food was just okay. For the price and brand of the hotel honestly I expected more.
2 hours to get served. No apolgy from waiter, manager beside herself when I get upset! This is the Ritz Carlton? Recommend you pass, but May not have a choice.
We had a great meal here with excellent food and outstanding service.
We've been dinning at Coast for the last 8 years and always everything has been great, from the service to food to ambiance. The last time, however we had not so great experience. I took my friend out for her birthday. Our waitress ( a new face who hid her name tag under a vest!) was extremely unfriendly and rude. While I was picking the wine from the list, she was rolling her eyes indicating impatience and frustration towards me. Then only after I had to remind her to bring the usual bread basket, and that's after we've been there for 1/2h, she snapped at me that only after we order our food she will bring it! That kind of attitude would be more acceptable at Mc Donalds drive-thru - NOT the Ritz Carlton. I addressed the issue with the manager and demanded a new server for our table. He was very kind and send us a new waitress (Daniela)who had served us before many times. From that moment on the service was top notch. Another issue that night was the fact that a family with a teenage boy with Down syndrome was seated next table to us. By all means I am not being sarcastic or insensitive but the hostess (since the parents couldn't care less!)should have seated this family to a side table where the boy would not make such a distraction and annoyance to everybody around them, such as "Mooo-ing" for most of the evening, showing his bare feet and putting them on the chair and table. The parents completely ignored him but everybody else was definitely distracted and grossed out. I would still keep going back there because the head chef really does a fantastic job but next time I will definitely ask for either Daniela or Alicia to be our server and not take risks of spoiling our night.
Delicious food! Great service! Really enjoyed our meal and I completely recommend the chicken and waffles.
I was very disappointed in that I said it was our 33 Anniversary and no one said anything about it. We had the pork chop. It was good but I think a little over priced. My husband had the wedge salad and said it was good. I had the beet salad and I think both over priced. Overall they did give us a window seat that I requested but nothing about our Anniversary.
It was a perfect New Year's Eve celebration. Too bad Opentable didn't tell us there was only a special buffet menu for that night.
The short ribs were really bad. The rest of the food was soso . The service was fussy and I guess insincere. Big disappointment!!
We arrived a couple of minutes early for our Christmas reservation and were seated promptly.
The restaurant was very busy and I appreciated being seated upon arrival. Christmas dinner was a plated selection. Choice of one of 3 appetizers, choice of entree, and dessert. I started with the smoked trout which was absolutely hands down wonderful. If they offer this ever again I would urge anyone to select it. My entree was scallops and they were a bit over salted. Hubby had the duck confit croquette for appetizer and he liked it very much. His entree was the short rib which he liked a lot. Desserts were ok. Nice but limited selection of wines by the glass. As you might imagine, on Christmas day they were very busy, and service reflected that a bit, but not by much. We did not feel rushed at all.
If you want to eat outside (even when it is a bit crisp outdoors) they do have heaters on the patio and quite a few diners were actually taking advantage and eating their Christmas dinner outdoors.
I do have to say that at the close of dinner, we asked to finish our meal with limoncello. It was surprising that at the Ritz Carlton there was not a bottle of limoncello to be found. Anywhere. Not that it is a big deal, just a surprise. The server was quick to offer a complimentary substitute, which we declined. He brought two ports anyway, with his compliments, which we thought was very nice.
Manager spoke to us several times. Had just moved here from Phoenix. Has the bar make my spiced rum eggnog.
Excellent ambiance, service and food. Will go again !
