Staff was very accommodating even though we showed up earlier than the reservation.
It was a great time with family of 5! Our waiter, Alex, was top notch and gave the best customer service! What an asset to Coal Vines!! We will be back!
Father's Day Brunch - great service, delicious food. I ordered Frittata & Franciscan chardonnay. I would definitely get again. Meatball appetizers are great for sharing and to start out with. Sat indoors but doors were open, very pleasant temperature.
food was amazing as always.
I live north Hwy 380 so I was very disappointed when they closed the location in the Shops at Legacy. Still one of the best pizzas around.
Great ambiance with the music and outdoor seating
I had a fantastic experience at this Coal Vines on Sunday. Delicious appetizers, pizza and their desserts were delectable. There service was fantastic as well. Will be coming back.
Good food and time. We enjoyed our date night
It was nice that they accommodated my request for table choice. But, the hostess/manager made sure I knew it was because we caught her on a good day. I ordered and paid for a bottle of bubbly before our party of 7 arrived. When it came time to serve it, the waiter could only find 3 flutes...meanwhile the hostess/manager spent time showing things on her phone to a guest seated near us. Luckily, only 3 of us wanted it. The waiter took our order and the food was delivered but not the item I ordered. He never noticed that I was the only one with out food He was so long in returning that it didn’t make sense to have it brought, just made sure it wasn’t on the check. The food was still pretty good it the service has declined in the last year or so. Won’t be back for a while.
Breakfast pizza on brunch menu was excellent!
Great food! Excellent service.
Past experiences have been good. This is experience was not. Did not check me in on Open Table. Pizza was burned. Pasta bolognese was not traditional and not very good. Won’t go back.
I absolutely love this restaurant - it's like a slightly cheaper Grimaldi's with slightly thinner crust. The sauces are amazing and authentic, and it tastes like New York! The restaurant has a casual but nice vibe and it's pretty dim inside but still charming. Service is always great and they have a huge selection of wine! I love the appetizers and the customization choices for the pizza and the price point is really great for the quality you get!! A++++
Great service and food was good. Easy to get in and out
We loved our pizza and wine!
It was great until a table with kids started using the booths for a trampoline. Kind if killed the moment. Also requested a birthday something... nothing.
I had a date here for Valentine’s Day. The ambience is soft and easy going. The food was good and the service was decent, too.
Great experience. I had a good time with my date. The appetizers were really good. I will go back.
BOTH THE SERVICE AND THE FOOD WERE TERRIBLE. I was a 5 minutes late to join my party who were seated and our waitress took a long time to take my drink order and then to serve it. I ordered the risotto special with shrimp that were indelibly salty and the risotto was bland and not creamy. Two of my companions ordered lobster ravioli which was so thick and pasty and had no discernable lobster in it. The waitress never came back to ask us how our food was and we had to wave at her across the room to get her attention to change my order which arrived after everyone else had finished eating. When the bill came we were surprised to see my risotto, and an additional charge for half an order more of ravioli still on the invoice. At the bottom was a deduction for the risotto and the full charge of ravioli (comped half) but the bill did not total out correctly. Even after my wife pulled out a calculator the waitress could not explain it. A dour woman came over who did not introduce herself and we assumed was the manager, and stared at the invoice for several minutes. She could not explain it , took it and said she would make it work. From beginning to end this meal left a sour taste in my mouth.
Great food and service!!!! Warm atmosphere. Nice wine list.
Such a friendly atmosphere because of the wonderful management and servers (we come almost every Sunday for brunch). Everyone dropped by to check on us. Great wine list. Ferrari-Carano Tresor is one of our favorites! Thanks Coal Vines for a great experience! We will be back.
great food, great parking. valet was EXCELLENT so I could bring my exotic car. and park out front.
Had a great evening at Coal Vines. I had an AWESOME server who made the experience even better. The Addison location isn’t super close to home for me, but I will definitely be making the trip back out just because the service was so food
We had a group of 13 people join us for New Years Eve dinner at the Prestonwood location and the service was horrible. We made reservations days in advance and the manager (Tracy) was well aware of the size of our group. Our group arrived and Tracy told us we couldn’t get our drinks because our server was not there yet! So we had to wait to place our drink orders because of a scheduling issue that had nothing to do with us. We were also assigned only one server, Alex who was great but clearly and justifiably overwhelmed.
We have parties like this throughout the year and Coal Vines will not be on our list after this type of service.
We had a table with 13 people and we were assigned only one server! She was great but just not enough to handle all the separate orders. Drinks and food took a long time to arrive. The manager was not friendly. Food was good but overall a disappointing experience if you have a big group.
New Year’s Eve tradition - pizza and wine
Our meal was fantastic! All four of us had something different and all of the dishes were excellent. We ordered a pepperoni pizza to-go and it too was delicious. The only reason I didn’t rate Coal Vines 5 stars is I do not appreciate be charged for bread. Bread is a compliment to the entree. I cannot ever remember being charged for bread. Otherwise, all good.
always a nice place to grab a bite and dine....very warm and cozy
Went with 2 adult family members, and had a very good dinner and excellent value experience. Arrived and was immediately seated (with reservation honored early) despite it being a fairly busy Friday night.
We split the Mesculun Greens salad 3-ways, and it was sufficient to provide a small but very tasty starter for each of us. A large BBQ chicken pizza followed, quite a sizeable portion (and we ended up taking home 3 pieces for lunch the next day). The pizza is very thin crust, and quite tasty. My only concern was that the BBQ sauce is a bit messy. Best to eat it with knife and fork.
Almost immediately after the pizza arrived, so did our main entree (again we split it 3 ways) of Chicken Marsala. The chicken was a bit on the tough side rather than melt-in-your-mouth tender. I liked the sauce flavor, and certainly appreciated a huge amount of veggies that we special ordered in place of pasta/potato carbs that normally come with the dish. All good.
Best of all was the service, except for the chicken arriving too soon after the pasta course. For value received overall, we will be back!
Just moved from Chicago and has been looking for a good pizza place. We found it 😁
Nice pizza place!
Food was tasty, service was slow. Wouldn’t go back unless Goga was playing and singing. He was fantastic.
Enjoyed a very nice meal with friends and family. We had the meat lovers, the veggie, and the sliders. There was live music provided by good musician singing and playing acoustic guitar. I would return!
Really enjoyed a Tuesday evening at Coal Vines with a party of 7. They opened up all the windows and there was live entertainment playing outside. Coupled with the energy inside the restaurant, good wine and great pizza, it was a fun visit.
Had a great experience! Glad I decided to come back. My experience 3 months ago was close to disastrous. Service was impeccable and the food delicious. Only problem was the hostess at the front. She was the problem last time and again became the bleak point of the evening. She has a surly, unfriendly disposition. Last time she stuck our party in the back, last possible table with very little lighting when manytable were open in the front of the restaurant. The server forgot about us and the food was soggy once it arrived.
This trip in more than made up for it. Hope to have a nice experience next time too.
If you're going for just pizza this is the place to go. If you're going for a nice dinner date, I would go somewhere else, the amount of money you spend here will equal to the amount at a nice steak house . Pizza prices to the size of the pizza a little much, wine prices are ridiculous and over priced for both bottle and glass rates. Also not cool to have kids running/ roaming around the tables while the parents talk.
I would not recommend this restaurant for anything. Hot, loud, crowded, long wait for food (which wasn't that good), & some disrespectful service.
Always an enjoyable visit. Today i enjoyed the blackened Redfish which was superb along with an excellent Rose’. My friend had the Tuna Tartar as an entree’ which she loved. For uptown Dallas, this is a real treat!
Food quality is very poor. Chicken tasted bad and pasta dishes are worse than frozen TV dinner quality. Service unprofessional. Given the prime location, this is very unfortunate that their food quality is so horrible. I will not be going back to this restaurant.
Waitress did not smile or seem interested in her us. Overall, The food was okay., but nothing to rave about.. The Rigatoni was bland and the chicken salad was pretty boring with little dressing. The meatball sliders were good and the fries were great. One of our party had ravioli which he really liked. We saw the pizza ordered by others and it looked and smelled good! Next time, we will try the pizza!
