We had a great time and experience at the Coach Grill. Our food was perfect , our waiter Justin was outstanding and the mascarpone cheesecake was to die for.
The food was fantastic, service was great and the atmosphere was great.
It’s been a while since my last visit and I was instantly reminded why. The ambiance is very stodgy and, well, outdated. It’s the epitome of a 1980 steakhouse. Food was okay. Steakhouse, remember. If you like big slabs of meat at unreasonable prices, you’re in the right place. On the plus side, they don’t nickel and dime you on sides. My Delmanico steak came with (undercooked) asparagus and mashed potatoes. The steak wasn’t bad but nothing special either. I didn’t care much for the wine list. Reasonable choices are overpriced and the two by the glass options we tried from the winery they’re pushing were underwhelming. The deserts were unimaginative and disappointing. The cheesecake with coulis for example tasted like store bought cheesecake from Stop and Shop, with two streaks of red stuff on the plate.
Service and food were outstanding. We had a vegan in our group who notified the restaurant earlier in the day. The chef created a special meal which was wonderful and he came to the table a couple times to ensure everything was OK. We were extremely pleased with our whole experience!
Great dinner experience for my son’s birthday. He has many severe food allergies and they were extremely accommodating. We love it there & will happily go back soon!
What happened to this place??
Lived up to our expectations - in all areas - as the perfect spot to celebrate a special occasion.
I like the room and the fireplace. The problem is the fire place gave off no heat. Room was cold. My brunch was good at best. The home fries were the worst I’ve had.. soggy, tasteless and very, very oily. We had franchesca as our server and she was great. I will give it another try
Amazing all around! Loved the food, ambiance, service and prices especially compared to pricey national steak chains. Six of us at a round table and loved that we could hear everyone and all participate in the same conversation. This was our first visit but we’ll be back.
The food was excellent but the service was mediocre. I consider this to be an upscale restaurant and the service was very slow. I was also brought the wrong meal and barely got an apology. Luckily they brought me the correct meal rather quickly but I thought maybe some of the bill would be discounted considering it is not an inexpensive place to eat but it was not. The food was delicious but I did not get the level of service I would expect for a high bill. I would come back for brunch to try but not really worth the high price for dinner.
Three of the four steaks came out incorrect, well done when most had ordered medium rare. I was upset they didn’t take any of them off the bill. Instead they bought us a round of drinks and desserts. Better than nothing I guess but we had to wait for our food to get recooked. There was a lot of confusion on the ordering of the appetizers as well. Overall not worth the money in my opinion. Food was decent but very high price. Not worth the money.
A wonderful place for Sunday brunch. Everything was delicious.
The food was absolutely the best. Our waitress was very attentative.
The only complaint I have was when we came there were 4 very expensive cars parked in front of the restraunt with cones in back of their vehicles. EXCEPT one was parked in a handicapped space with no placard hanging from the mirrornor handicap plate. This was inexcusable as my wife needed a handicap space---has a handicap placard and was not able to park there. Big deal they had fancy cars....
This has become one of favorite places to dine in the suburbs.
A group of us went to Boston to see the matinee of Waitress. Lots of fun and great singing. THen we headed towards home for an early dinner. Seafood Tower and Blanton's Manhattan - what more could a girl want?
Had a great dinner and time again at the Coach Grill. Great place. Will return.
I miss the mushroom risotto with the veal shank. The cauliflower didn't interest me at all. Mashed were good but boring.
Excellent, friendly service with a very caring and helpful waiter. The menu selections of our steak and scallops were superb. The chocolate cake was very rich and tasty and well worth the calories!
really good food but yet another bad service at Coach Grill takes this one of my list
So- we go here a few times a year and the food and experience are always great. This dinner started to go sideways, wrong appetizer delivered then totally wrong steaks. The manager came out, apologized, we reordered a different cut as the vendor had delivered wrong cuts and those in turn we could not expect. Some complimentary Chianti and a dessert later, we left satisfied and the positive was we had more time out of the house, more relaxed. The food and service excellent. Issues and mistakes happen, how you manage them is what separates you from the rest. Coach Grill managed the issue perfectly and cheerfully.
This was a special "day out" for our dear friend who is 95 years old and is like a second Mom to my brother and I. She was so delighted to get out and have a lovely brunch. Joe, our waiter, was excellent and very attentive. She raved about her bowl of coffee ice cream - she said it was the best she ever had (still don't know how she managed all 3 scoops!). It's nice to relax in a comfortable atmosphere where everyone really cares about the guest!!
We love to have our family gather at the Coach Grill. Great Food, Great Wait Staff, Great all around. Never a bad meal!!!
Excellent meal!!! Superbly cooked filet with a delicious crab cake. My husband had filet with shrimp that was equally as delicious.
Can’t wait to return!!!
The ambiance was incredible with the soft jazz playing and quiet conversations during Valentine’s Day. The rose they gave was a nice touch as well. The waitress seemed little rushed and not overly friendly. The appetizers came within good timing, but was disappointed with the buffalo mozzarella-very watery and tasted like a brine rinse without flavoring. The bacon-wrapped scallops were divine. The strip steaks were perfectly cooked and juicy and thick. Also their wine choices were nice and plentiful and not exorbitantly priced.
We always enjoy the Coach Grill and have dined there about a dozen times the past 2-3 years. Quality of food is excellent and portions are plenty. On this last visit, Valentine’s Day, the dining room was reconfigured a bit to cram in small tables, so much so, that serving plates, drinks etc, would not fit. The service, while generally excellent, was horrible on this occasion. There was no attention to detail one comes to expect here, we finally received bread halfway through the meal, the steaks were not cooked properly, the sides were tepid, and the dinner was not served all together, one side arrived when our meal was practically finished. Despite two requests, sweeteners were never brought with after dinner coffees. Waitstaff appeared indifferent, and it seemed out of sync between the waitress and the support team. I will think of this as a one off situation, but when I pay $45 for a steak I expect the same great service every time, at that price there can be no off nights
It was excellent ! Our waitress , Laura was outstanding .
Dined for Valentines Dinner and had the New Zealand Lamb Chops and they were awesome! The sides included Hand Cut Fries and Broccoli which were both excellent.
We enjoyed professional service in a setting burnished with paneling, a hearth fire, pleasantly low lighting and the nostalgia of the Red Coach Grill. We enjoyed very good food (at a slightly exaggerated price) and an overall ambiance for conversation. The Coach Grill is worth a visit.
This was the first time myself and my wife had actually got to go to this restaurant we found the food remarkably very good. The atmosphere was very cozy and romantic. The service was very prompt and and detail oriented. Would go back to this restaurant again in a heartbeat.
Ribeye steaks were perfectly cooked & seasoned. Cauliflower, corn pudding and brussell sprouts were delicious, as always.
The food was delicious. Our service was very poor. We had to ask for our water to be refilled twice, we were not offered bread and when my husband ordered a latte, the waiter did not bring sugar or a spoon - we again had to ask for it.
My soup was spilled all over the serving plate when the waiter placed it in front of me.
No reason to go to Boston. Excellent quality in a gracious room.
I sent this to the manager at The Coach Grill but no reply yet
On behalf of my wife and me I must commend The Coach Grill on providing us with an outstanding night before Valentines dinner.
Everything we ate was terrific but the Porterhouse steak for 2 was one of the best we've ever had in the Greater Boston area.
Our waiter, Dave, was always checking to make sure everything was fine.
We made a great decision by coming last night vs tonight while you'll probably feed 400 people in utter chaos.
Always a great experience... One of my favorite spots to dine on a special date!
We were at Coach Grill for Sunday brunch - everything was fine but they were obviously short staffed. Not a problem for us as we were not in a hurry. The server was attentive but was stretched among many tables. The live music was a plus.
We ate on a Saturday night and it was nice and busy--with a warm and inviting atmosphere.
Kevin was our server and he was first class. Very friendly and professional, he made great recommendations along with being at the table just enough, but not too much. He was extremely knowledgeable on the menu-he's a great ambassador for the restaurant and for the collection of restaurants! By the way, the steaks were well prepared along with the starters and dessert--nice wine list!
I had the NY strip steak and my boyfriend had the prime rib. Both were cooked perfectly and very tasty. We shared the gigantic baked potato and it was more than enough as a side. We were there celebrating our anniversary and were a bit disappointed the restaurant does nothing to acknowledge special occasions.
The Coach Grill never disappoints - visited recently for our anniversary and they quickly brought over 2 glasses of champagne...Compliments of the house...nice touch. The menu is mostly steak driven but good seafood and other choices abound including a variety of salads, etc. My wife LOVED the chowder which was full of clams and a buttery broth. We shared a bone in filet that was cooked to perfection and very flavorful and then added on a lobster tail for her as well as the lobster risotto ($14 and a HUGE portion of great lobster risotto!!).
Its a steak house so expect a bit loud but it was great - plenty of Sinatra playing and a beautiful fire burning in the main DR...always a treat and can't wait to come back.
Drink wasn’t mixed well. Abe & Louis does it better. V.O. Manhattan had to much vermouth. Food and service was fine
