Coach Grill Ratings and Reviews
Went to celebrate my daughter’s birthday. Three out of 5 steaks were raw and totally inedible especially as some were for children. Another diner in our party had cold fish and a frozen baked potato. Our night was ruined and the meal still cost 750.00 for 7 adults and 2 little ones. Will not be going back.
We were a party of eight celebrating an extended family member's birthday. The oval table accommodated the group very well and allowed easy conversation, despite its proximity to the bar and the fact that the restaurant was very busy that night. The service all around was excellent, as were the specialty cocktails. My main reason for writing the review -- something I rarely do -- is because the food was truly outstanding and definitely exceeded my expectations. From the chicken piccata (which I had, and may be the best I've had in years), to the rack of lamb, to the stuffed shrimp, to the tuna, to the various steaks -- everyone in the group raved about their choices. Even simple-sounding side dishes, like the sautéed spinach, was absolutely delicious. Although the meal was not inexpensive, it's wonderful to get this kind of quality without having to go into Boston.
We had a nice table in front of the fireplace, which at the initial seating was nice, but got very warm as dinner progressed. The last time there our food was okay, but not what one would expect from an upscale place like Coach Grill. The service was fine. This time the food was great. Everyone at table (6 of us) all got something different and we were all very happy with our meals. Had we not been, it would have been hard to tell anyone as no one came to follow-up on the first few bites to be sure we were happy. Finally had to track someone down to fill water glasses. Overall, I would sum up the evening with great food, not great service. We will be back, but lack of consistency in food and service will get us to reconsider over time.
We were at Coach to celebrate a dear friend changing jobs. It was a wonderful celebration!
We started with delicious Cocktails made by Arthur to perfection! There were delicious appetizers a few salads, tuna tartar , oysters, crab louie and the crab cocktail with fresh horseradish Yum! That was followed by several choice steaks, a few sea bases and swordfish.
Everything was cooked to perfection - as always! We finished up with butterscotch bread pudding, so hot you need a scoop of vanilla ice cream just to calm it down! ( per our Fabulous Waiter! will not give his name out) We also, enjoyed a mud ice cream pie and few glasses of port.
A memorable night was had by all! Thank you Coach Grill!
We have dined here many, many times over the years. The food is always dependable and cooked to your personal taste: specializing in steaks and tons of delicious sides. Wonderful wine menu. Dessert selection is ordinary and limited. I’d love to see more creativity from the pastry chef!!
The bar is small but cozy. Once you find a spot at the bar or high top tables, enjoy a dinner!! Fun to eat at the bar ... lots of energy!! I believe there is a separate bar menu if you come in after a performance at neighboring Vokes Theater.
Also there are two huge wood burning fireplaces that are roaring on a cold winter night. Request a table fireside well in advance!! One of my favorite spots on a snowy evening!!
We headed to the Coach Grill for a nice meal out on a cold November evening and were not disappointed. We were quickly seated by one of the two fireplaces and went on to enjoy a wonderful evening. The food and service were outstanding, especially our server Leanna who made excellent recommendations and was forever attentive.
Food was nicely prepared and delicious. Entrees seemed to include only the protein and potato or rice. I really think a vegetable should be included as part of an entrée and not have to ordered as a side dish. Nice ambiance and excellent service in the restaurant.
We arrived a little early for our reservation time and were seated immediately. The room we were in was small and intimate. Our server was wonderful. She was attentive without going overboard, friendly and easy to interact with. Our food was delicious. Looking forward to going back to try the brunch soon
Restaurant did not measure up to its reputation or our expectations. We requested a table near the fireplace and were told that could be accommodated, only to find out when we arrived that they weren't going to light it for two more weeks.
The food was a complete let down. The squash soup was tasteless and served cold. The bacon wrapped scallops were over cooked. The baked stuffed shrimp were also over cooked and served on small/medium shrimp. Fortunately my husband's filet was very good. The desserts were also a big let down. The fresh baked bread was amazing! So was the wine and caramel latte they made us. Overall the dinner was very disappointing and not worth $150. Sorry but can not recommend this one.
This was an absolutely great experience. Our waitress, Jordan, really made us feel at home and comfortable while we were there. My girlfriend had a filet and I had New Zeland lamb, and both were absolutely scrumptious! Great drinks, too! We both had simple mixers, and they were delicious. Dessert was also fantastic. One of the best parts though, is the fresh baked bread. Absolutely delicious!
Generally this restaurant is excellent. However our recent dining experience was poor. The food was over salted and our friends sent back their dinners twice. And the porterhouse steak was only available for 2 people at $75.00. In the past I could order the porterhouse individually at less cost. Unfortunately this is no longer our favorite restaurant.
We used to go to this restaurant very frequently, then they appeared to be purchased by a chain. Immediately the quality dropped and we stopped frequenting. It has been about a year or so since we had been so we decided to try again. This time seems to be trying to be a steakhouse. The prices were much higher than before ($49 for a 20oz Ribeye). My steak was great, my wife's turned out to be rather fatty and she did not enjoy it as much. Could have just been the cut of meat, so we will give it another try someday.
Terrific food and service. Server was friendly without being intrusive. Quality of food is great. A good selection on the menu, plus a prix fixe menu with a few options. We were there on a week night, and were able to have a quiet conversation. Weekend nights are much busier. We highly recommend for a special celebration, as well as for a great evening out.
This restaurant allows you to be able to see the chefs at work. They push a beautiful wooden cart to get the food out all at once. The wait staff is on point and the manager is quite friendly. The food is always wonderful and I don’t need to drive all the way to Boston!
We haven't been to the Coach Grille in a while and we were all very disappointed. I consider this a fine dining restaurant, especially given the pricing. It seemed the dining room staff are not trained at the level of fine dining. Five of us dined with me and my husband arriving last. When we ordered our drinks the waiter was gone so fast that others could not order their second drink until he came back with ours. Appetizers were cleared before we were done. Silverware was also taken with no replacement of clean silver ware. Martini was half full at best, coffee had such an old taste that we asked for another cup. It was definitely just as old, except heated up so much we couldn't even touch the handle of the cup. All of this for over $400 (and one of us only had a dinner salad!) also, the dining room was so loud we could hardly hear. It didn't help that our table was set for 6 with 6 chairs so there was a big space between me and the person to my left. I had to hand the server the extra place setting but the chair remained . The table should have been adjusted for 5. We will not be back.
