Coach Grill Ratings and Reviews
Went out with another couple their food was good but my steak was more fat than meat the second steak took way too long to come out and was over cooked . Was told we could not have a after dinner drink because the table was over the limit the most drinks anyone had was 3 over 2 hours I'm 53 years old and only had 2 drinks and had ever been shut off before
I took my husband here for his 50th birthday and had a great time. The food was fantastic from the appetizers to dessert. The service was great also. My fifteen year old son joined us and can't wait to go back and he is hard to impress. I would recommend the Coach Grill to anyone looking for a great meal at reasonable prices.
I had a gift card and had intended to go to another restaurant in Boston but decided to stay in the suburbs and go to Coach Grill. What a great decision! Coach Grill is a fantastic place if you want a great steak! They have many options for steaks and other items, the wine list is very extensive with some excellent wines and the service was superb! I will definitely be back.
Great food and atmosphere. Has the feel of a formal steakhouse, but the ambiance is a little brighter and more well lit than others. The staff is excellent, and they go out of their way to make you feel welcome. Bone-in ribeye is the best... by far better than the one you'll find at Abe and Louie's.
While ambiance and service was great, overall food experience was very disappointing. Ordered the special entree - 2 petit filets. They were done perfectly, however, the first bite included a large piece of grizzle. Very "uneven" pieces of beef - some bites tender, some chewy but all quite flavorless. Not what one would expect for $38. Another diner had the standard filet and it was fine, although a little overcooked for medium rare. Another diner had roast chicken which was good. The fourth diner order the chopped salad requesting to hold the bacon. While there was no bacon in the dish, the smoky bacon flavor was overwhelmingly present. Learned they sautee the onions in bacon fat. They did take the item off our bill.
we have never had a bad meal here, but the Thanksgiving turkey dinner was only passable. They substituted broccoli for asparagus, but said they couldn't substitute when I asked for creamed spinach. My wife had prime rib, which was good, as always. Very busy, but quick and attentive service throughout.
You would never guess from the unassuming outside of this restaurant how warm and elegant it is inside. Our waiter, Kevin, was exceptional. The warm bread (and the 2nd basket, too!) was delicious - the kind you can't not eat even tho you're trying not to fill up on bread before the meal. Window booth with very cushy seats. Consider ordering a margarita just to enjoy the surprise centerpiece presentation! Scallops and crab cake appetizers were yummy, yummy. We had the Thanksgiving meals but will definitely return to order from the regular menu.
We choose the Coach Grill for our family Thanksgiving meal. Our meals arrived quickly made to order. The turkey dinner's were perfect! Corn puddling, sweet and delicious. The macaroni & cheese with lobster is my favorite. The pumpkin pie was creamy with just the right amount of spices.......the chocolate cake was hevenly.
If you can't make it into the city - this place is a great metro-west option for steak and seafood. My husband had a filet and it was seasoned well and cooked exactly how he wanted it (medium rare). I had the crab stuffed lobster and it was excellent. The waiter suggested wine pairings (which occasionally makes me nervous when you see the bill), but the wines were perfect with our meal and not pricey. Overall, it was a great local choice for a nice meal out with my husband.
Always dependable, Coach Grill never fails to leave us satisfied and happy we've gone. The portions are quite large, enough for us to split, and the service is always spot on. We love the rounded banquets and booths and the fact that they have an oval table for groups so we can all see each other. Overall, we enjoy going there.
Even on a Wednesday evening, the dining room was busy and the noise level became quite elevated. We were seated nearly immediately - had made reservations and then because of slow commuting traffic and heavy rain were being a bit delayed. Called the restaurant to let them know we would be 10 - 15 minutes late, and the hostess who answered was quite accommodating and assured us our table would be held. Service was well paced and efficient. Only disappointment was that the boneless strip steak was rimmed quite heavily in fat and had some gristle running through - NOT marbling, which I would expect with this cut. Also thought that the amount of au jus served with the steak was far too copius. Butternut squash soup was outstanding.
The food was excellent. We are excellent cooks and rarely find a restauarant that leaves us with a feeling of "wow, that was really good", The bone-in fillet was outstanding. If you are meeting other couples, I recommend meeting just prior to dining as the bar is not set up well for parties of 6 or more.
Our waiter was one of the best ever.
Really nice guy. Brought me a few sips of a wine he thought I might like - and I did!
Also was generous with the sauces for the steak, let us try a "sampler"
It was so nice not to have to commit!
We had a nice time, as we always do at Coach Grill
This was my first visit to Coach. Our Server was fantastic. Plate presentation was great except the steak. It was a steak on a plate, but that is expected. My steak was ok, it wasn't a steak that I left saying, wow, great steak. I ordered the ahi tuna app, fantastic, also had the tomato caprese salad, again, very good. This would be a twice a year restaurant for me.
We went as a group of 6 friends that haven't seen each other for a while. The food was outstanding, wine was sweet and the atmosphere was wonderful. The waiter for very knowledgable, helpful and personable. We were obviously not in a hurry and we were not rushed out. If you are looking for a warm, inviting restaurant, this is the place to be.
We asked for a table in the dining room and were given one, but it was right next to the busy kitchen, with waitstaff dodging in and out.
It took a while for us to be waited on but, once we were, our waitress was attentive and nice.
I had the lamb chops, which were good.
My husband ordered the Delmonico steak, which cost $40, and it was very chewy and fatty---he was very disappointed.
At $160 for dinner-for-two, I think we should have been more impressed.
Overall, a very disappointing experience.
