The food was sub par, so much so that we skipped dessert. For the reviews online and price we expected much more. I hear they’re closing in a week so I don’t suppose they care anyways

DC will be loosing one of its best and one of my favorite restaurants next week due to Co Co Sala shutting down.

They truly offer a rare and unique food experience that no other place has to offer...I mean think about it a chocolate based and themed restaurant!

I fell in love with this place and it will surely be missed.

With a heavy heart I write this review. This place is closing for good in a few days. If you have ever been, you'd know how great the chocolate inspired food is. I love dessert here. I only wish I had more time to enjoy one last meal here.

The food was great! The service was amazing! I could easily say this would be one of my top restaurants, but then they informed me they will be permanently closed in a week :( Get in while you can!!!! Unexpected combinations and you HAVE to try some of the chocolate beverages (including the alcoholic ones)!

Some desserts were very good but food was a bit expensive for what it was. Disappointed that certain things were not available on menu despite a small menu and eating early on in the night. Also the original table we were at was freezing due to a vent and we therefore had to move, we were not the first people to have to move from this table. Not the best value food either but was an interesting take on a meal.

Everything was fine, but was not worth the high price tag. Portions were too small and quality was okay, which did not line up with the prices. Not a great value.

The Valentine's Day pre-fixed menu included four courses plus a glass of champagne. I appreciated the little details from plating to the little quotes about love at each course. Food was elegant and the chocolate was wonderful. Dessert was our favorite part! You could tell they take their chocolate seriously.

I made a reservation for 1030pm. At 1045pm while 5min away from the restaurant I got a phone call saying the kitchen closed at 1030pm. I was not informed of this prior to that phone call. I arrived at 1052pm and was unable to eat dinner so we had dessert.

I wouldn't recommend this restaurant to anyone, honestly. I was super excited to come here with my fiance, because I've been here before for dessert and it was pretty good. I was SO disappointed when we left the restaurant. The waiter took way too long to bring drinks and come back and take our order. When the food did come, we were really disappointed in everything we ordered. The fries were overfried and hard. The lettuce in the chicken flatbread was drenched in dressing, and tasted a few days old and bitter. The flatbread in the salad was stale. That was my fiances meal, and he refused to eat it (and left the restaurant starving). I got the ravioli, and it was just alright - way too overpriced for what it was. Then I thought - hey, let's have some dessert to redeem the night. Once the waiter finally came back after looking for him for 25 minutes, we looked at the dessert menu. Out of the 5 dessert options that were on the menu, they didn't have the two that we wanted. For a restaurant that specializes in chocolate, you would think their chocolate options would be abundant and available, especially during the dinner rush on a Saturday night. The only thing I actually got chocolate in was my mojito - and to be honest, citrus drinks and chocolate don't mix very well. Not to mention, the shirley temple was also flat.

So - food, bad; service, bad; dessert, nonexistent. The only thing I would recommend this place for is the ambiance. If you like to go to restaurants to just sit around and people watch - definitely go here. If you actually like to eat, don't. :)

High hopes having been to sister restaurant in Leesburg. We didn't see the waiter for 10 minutes after we were seated. The teaser and sides were yummy: Mac and bacon plus sirachia fries. The tuna tartare was overwhelmed rather than enhanced by the cilantro and micro greens and other things added. We also had the bubbly flight with chocolate which was quite good. Dessert was good not overwhelmingly good. A bit disappointed with the overall experience, the food and service did not live up to the price point. It would be an excellent place to go for a snack or maybe just for dessert, but wouldn't recommend it for a full meal.

When we arrived, the restaurant was NOT busy but our server was slow. The bar did not have the beer that was on the menu. Only 1 out of the 5 beers were available. The bar did not have unflavored rum. My party of 4 ordered our drinks at the same time. Three of the drinks were delivered after 10 minutes and the fourth drink took 20 minutes. I ordered a steak cooked medium. It was cooked medium rare. Considering the amount of time that it took for our food to be delivered, AND waiting for a steak knife... I did not send it back. I ate the side items and took the under-cooked steak home to cook. The bathroom stall that I used did not have a lock on the door (considering that the bathroom was unisex- this is an issue of safety!). Also, the toilet paper holder that was in the stall had been ripped from the wall and the toilet paper roll was on the floor. Our bill was over $200 which was not reflected in the quality of the food or the service. Totally dissatisfied.

Very tasty food, though keep in mind that these are smaller amounts than you may be expecting. With the focus on creativity of the use of cocoa and the extravagant desserts, plates tend to be smaller, though they are rich and very tasty.

Great food - we went early in the day for brunch and loved the breakfast flatbread. It is served with yummy fresh fruit and a lovely pear salad. We also really enjoyed the lattes. Our only negative is that it was pretty cold in the restaurant - not too crowded yet, so later in the day it would probably be perfect. If you go early, dress warmly!
Best was the dessert - we loved it. Service was wonderful and overall very comfortable.

Swung by for a nice dinner after work on a Wednesday, and I wanted to like this place so badly. It looks so warm and cozy from the outside! The service was a a bit inattentive but not offensively so. The food, however, was a major disappointment. The menu did not match what is currently on Open Table. What we received was more limited and pricier. The $20 asparagus risotto was bland with 3 sad asparagus spears on top and weirdly chunked asparagus throughout. It would have been a fine side dish for another meal. The $26 paprika shrimp dish involved 6-8 smallish shrimp in a decent if not fantastic sauce. It was bizarrely served with a weird fried toast thing you had to stab to cut with about 2 inches if shredded cheese (manchego?) piled on top. We left before desert after the waitress said we'd need to order two because they're small.

The restaurant clearly puts more effort into their appearance than food, yet the red velvet chairs are looking a bit tired and the light from the back of the restaurant is very bright and produces a glare for anyone looking in that direction. This was not the cozy date spot I was expecting. I went home and ate a banana in attempt to fill the void left in my stomach, wallet, and heart.

I went for restaurant week with a date. The food was wonderful. I tried the bacon mac and cheese and the ravioli. My date tried the chicken sliders and the Schezuan cauliflower. The bacon mac and cheese and the Schezuan cauliflower were amazing. Perhaps we will try other items than the ravioli and chicken sliders next time. The desserts and hot chocolate were amazing! Totally worth trying for restaurant week. Ask to be seated away from the front door (too many people waiting).

I have been here three times now, and each time has been a wonderful experience. The drinks and dessert are outstanding. The chocolate shooter is amazing, the Fetish tastes just like a chocolate strawberry, and the desserts have multiple superb items. The food is good, not anything too special. Also, food could use more chocolate incorporated in the plates!

I put fair for the food because we didn’t dine there so I can’t really judge it as poor or good. The chocolate cocktails were delicious and very worthwhile. The service was not great because they were having a hard time seating people but the staff was doing their best to be accommodating so couldn’t ask for much more. All in all, our experience was great and we would definitely go back.

Our table was not ready for about 30 mins (party of 8) they didn’t even offer us a cocktail menu as we waited, but served free champagne to the party of 6 who were waiting before us since they were upset. Finally got to our table Food was good but our salad had a live green bug walking around!! (I regret not taking a picture of the bug) We called our server he apologized and casually brought out a new salad like it was no big deal. We enjoyed the food but service was terrible!!!

Maybe it's because we went during restaurant week?

I like to choose from a full menu. Due to restaurant week, all they had available was the pre-fixe menu. To be blunt, the options were disappointing. The ravioli was sweet and unappealing for a main course dish, the 2 mac and cheese options felt unimaginative and disappointing for what's meant to be a creative restaurant. The other pre fixe options were very "meh."

The only positive, foodwise, was the dessert. Everything else was a total letdown.

Service was painfully slow, and the waiters seemed to ignore us between dessert and the check. The tables are squeezed together, making intimate conversation near impossible. $100+ for dinner's fairly standard in Downtown, but this was well below average in terms of flavor and experience. Even the cocktails lacked in flavor and creativity. The bartender made my $14 dark and stormy with captain morgan's. blech!

I won't be coming back.

Dessert, cocktails and service were the pros during our visit.
Food was saturated in salt and subpar. Went during restaurant week and would’ve expected a higher quality for the prefix menu. It was pretty much over salted bar food like sliders and Mac n cheese for options.

Burrrrrr it’s cold, outside for sure but inside the restaurant too. Not sure what the problem was, but it was uncomfortably cold this afternoon. We, as most customers, kept coats and gloves while eating brunch today. The staff offered no explanation and only responded with “I know”. This situation was poorly handled. Another issue was regarding the brunch trio pricing. On the website, brunch was listed at $26. However, we had menus with pricing at $29 and $34. In response our waiter picked up the menus with $29, replaced with $34 menus. The math gets a bit fuzzy, but ordering the same items a la carte is the better deal. This was NOT a good dining experience. Yet, I must mention, the food was pretty darn delicious.

The food was pretty good - lots of interesting choices and of course the chocolate bacon! We enjoyed the food, especially the ONYX dessert which was yummy.
My grand daughter had the SMORES entree which she enjoyed very much even though she is usually a picky eater. Hard to argue with SMORES!
The seats were very uncomfortable and when the door opened there was definitely a new chill in the air even thought we were about as far from the door as you could get.
It is a fun destination.
