The cuisine is not the only element that sets Clydz apart from the rest. The trendy bar, enhanced by fish tanks and fireplaces, offers an extensive and adventurous martini and cocktail selection. Clydz own “private label” vodka was introduced fall ’11 with great success.
When making a reservation please keep in mind, tables will only be held 15 minutes past the reservation time. Due to high volume during dinner, an $18 food minimum per person is required. Reservations for cocktails only are not accepted.
We were going to Clydz for many years and our favorite server Terry informed us that this was the last dinner she was to serve at Clydz and it was the last dinner Clydz was serving. They have a new lunch and bar menu that does not serve full dinners.
10/10 This place is amazing. Food is phenominal, service is wonderful. Cheese plate with dried meats is to die for.
Clydz is always a crowd pleaser boosted by the pleasure of Jake as our server. He helped us with drink orders, choosing entrees, etc.
The food was impeccable, we had the duck flatbread (warm, cozy, delicious), game meatballs (earthy, fun and flavorful), the mac and cheese with truffle and bacon (everything you want in a mac and cheese without being overpowering), the Australian filet mignon (everything on the plate was amazing, the mashed potatoes and veggie medley complemented the roasted beef well) and the kangaroo lion (had this one prior on the game tasting menu, this was cooked perfectly and had an amazing citrusy sauce, the gnocchi made a great, flavorful pairing).
On top of the amazing food, it was RW and the restaurant gave us 20% of our total meal (must have two entrees). We had a fantastic night and we thank Clydz for it.
Reasonably good food and service; the former was not quite up to other occasions.
Went to Clydz for the first time in many years. The food was very good, ambience was nice- I dont really enjoy jazz music which was playing. The service was great. I enjoyed it
Delicious game dishes, interesting cocktails, but extremely slow service (dining area was less than half full when we dined) and not very well-trained waiting staff.
Very hot in the restaurant today. Food was ok. Drinks were great.
Our first visit in years. I hardly ever find service to be outstanding (excellent, yes, not outstanding). This was off the charts. Water constantly refilled, silverware replaced, etc. All our food selections were excellent from the crab cake appetizer and swedish meatballs, to entrees of duck, sea scallops and two different cuts of steak.
Noise level was high, biggest issue was the heat. The A/C was cranking, however the unit is clearly not powerful enough to cool a crowded restaurant in 100 degree heat. Other than that, it was a great experience and we will be back.
What a fantastic restaurant! I have visited it plenty of times, but this time was especially awesome. The owner of the restaurant delivered our dessert and even chatted for a few moments. As a marketing professional, this seriously made ALL the difference.
This place has incredible wine selection, awesome martinis, and exquisite food. Try the duck, you will NOT be disappointed. So happy I chose to go back to Clydz to meet with an old friend.
Very good food and service. Genuinely unique menu items that were all very tasty. Service was very good. The bar scene was very good as well with a great variety of cocktails. It may have been the largest cocktail menu that I have seen in a while. The outside ambiance did not look like I expected.
We had the best waiter, Eugene. He was very attentive to all my allergy needs and made our dining experience amazing!
Birthday dinner for my fiancé. 5 stars as always. I had the kangaroo, he had the game tasting menu. We split the lobster Mac & cheese & tater tots sides. Phenomenal.
We enjoyed our food but it wasn't AMAZING. Was decent for the price and enjoyed our drinks. My friend had the bloody mary, which was strong. I had a tequila-based cocktail I liked.
Great food. Meats you won’t find anywhere else. A solid place for a nice dinner or a casual bite to eat at the bar.
Service and food quality was excellent. Ambiance was pleasant. Interesting drink choices.
Everything was perfectly prepared - the bison hangar steak was incredibly tasty, the asparagus was al dente, the martinis were not too tiny :-) Ever since having buffalo prime rib in Denver about 10 years ago and discovering it was the most tender, flavorful meat I'd ever had, I've been searching fruitlessly for that same magic - until now. Thank you, Clydz!
Service was excellent and drinks exceptional. Our three dishes were very good except the burger special at $16 was burnt on the outside and medium inside. I ordered rare and did not expect it to be like a hockey puck. It was also on the small side for $16.
Great date night. My wife asked to substitute spagetti for a vegetable and the dish came out with zoodles! What a nice touch, very creative kitchen. Thanks.
Been to Clydz with my fiancé many times over the last 3 years since we have been dating.
We plan on getting married at Clydz. There isn’t a place we could think of to get married other than Clydz.
We love the location, the ambience, the drinks and the menu.
The wait staff is exceptional. Mike took care of us this past Saturday night as we celebrated our re-connection from 3 years ago after 35 years apart.
The pace of our evening was perfect, from our drinks, oysters appetizer, our incredible dinner and the after dinner cordial. It was ON-THE-HOUSE, which we greatly appreciated.
We went for a luncheon celebrating my daughter's graduation from Rutgers. It was great. Food, drinks, service first rate.
Mostly tight quarters in this seemingly trendy underground (in a basement) bar and restaurant. Unusual game entrees with a few standards (chicken, beef and scallops). My wife and I enjoyed the everything we ordered, none of which was from their game menu. The cocktail menu is as large as the food menu and our specials were very good. Service had bursts of attentiveness with periods of neglect. I believe every member of the wait staff delivered a plate, took payment, refilled water, dropped off a drink, etc. I would go back again.
A little dark to read the menu and a little noisy. Would have liked a more private table instead of close to other patrons but other than that it was good and I would recommend
Always a great dining experience at Clydz. Great food, great service, great atmosphere!!
Really happy to see Clydz is still a go to eatery after all these years. Lovely dining room feels like home.
Clydez was a bit pricy, but the food, drinks, and service were top notch! I intend to go back to try other things on the extensive menu!!
Clydz offered us a great opportunity to try some very unusual food offerings, and we were very pleasantly surprised. We had the sampler with wild boar, quail, and rabbit sausage, and also got a petite portion of kangaroo and the alligator in a blanket appetizer, and it was all delicious (and very different, for us) and we enjoyed the experience greatly.
Food was mediocre. Service was good. Old classic living on their old school reputation.
Was disappointed in my filet minon - was charred and overcooked for 'medium'
At first when you enter it's the bar area so the crowd looked overwhelming.. but when you walked to the back of the restaurant you are greeted by the hostess and the dining area was much more peaceful and the atmosphere was adorable!
This was not our first time at Clydz. Each time is better than the last. I asked for a quiet, romantic spot. The table had rose petals on it. A nice, dimly lit lamp was next to our table.
The Brazialian cocktails were outstanding. The food was prepared perfectly and presentation was beautiful.
Our waiter was attentive and knowledgeable.
I had earlier asked my girlfriend if she would marry me so we needed a great place to celebrate.
Clydz has been and will continue to be our number #1 destination for all occasions.
Food and service were pretty decent. Acceptable for the price charged. Waited a long time for our drinks which was surprising since we were the only party in the dining room. Yikes! We were there for almost 3 hours. Not a single party was seated after. Where did everyone go?
Excellent food and service. Waiters were very attentive and the martinis were sinful!
We went for the eclectic menu and were not disappointed, though I would have liked to see a gamey meat entrée ( antelope, boar, etc.) on the menu. The food was high quality but wasn't knock your socks off great. The place has kind of a cool New York vibe and the service was excellent. Parking was a bit of a problem. We'll probably go back.
The host’s station is located in the back of the restaurant, which was odd. Other than that, everything else was good. Customer service, menu knowledge, and attentiveness was spot on! Our server Eugene was excellent! They have a huge cocktail list, and the duck was perfectly prepared.
Great food and service. Bar was a bit noisy at first but was empty when we left.
This is our second visit to Clydz and it was just as we remembered. The staff are fantastic! Rarely we say that before how delicious the food is, but they truly are wonderful.
Scallops for me, bison steak for him - both great! The waiter forgot our side dish of pappardelle pasta with truffle sauce; however it was just as well. Left us room for dessert! And it means we will have to go back.
Thanks again for a wonderful dining experience!
Loved the feel and ambiance of Clydz. The drink selection was also fantastic.
Pre show dinner. Very convenient to State Theater. Did tell waiter - were going to see a show - but was surprised that service a little slow. But had plenty of time still.
We went for early dinner so noise level quiet. Not sure if would be noisier later.
Truly enjoyed our dinner!
