Clyde's Willow Creek Farm Ratings and Reviews
As usual with Clyde's at Willow Creek, the food and service were impeccable. The food was delicious. The service was top notch. There was a large group there and our server was working several tables, but she still did a great job taking care of us. I like this restaurant very much and would go more often, but it is a little expensive. When I do go, I am always rewarded with excellent food and service. I love this place.
We enjoyed the food, but service was slow...desert took forever to come after ordering and we actually had to send another member of the wait staff to get our server to bring the check. It was a little embarrassing since we had told our guests what a great place this was. Surprisingly the bathrooms were kind of dirty with paper towels all over the floor.
My husband lived in NoVa years ago, often talked about the different Clyde's locations around town. When we planned a trip with our kids to the Dulles area we decided to try Clyde's Willow Creek Farm. The place was fantastic - beautiful setting, warm and inviting building that went on and on. We sat in a back dining room full of unique art, lots of rustic charm. Our food was fantastic - Bison Burger was one of the best burgers ever. The kids also loved their meals - the kids menu is very reasonably priced and includes a drink and lots of nice choices. The wine list was surprisingly well-priced also. We enjoyed our experience so much that we decided to eat at Clyde's again to end our trip a few nights later. The Lobster Shepherd's pie and the Lasagna were both amazing - rich, flavorful, fresh - everything dinner out should be. I would not hesitate to recommend Clyde's, and I'd even consider the 2-hour drive just to eat there again - yes, it was that good.
Took a long time to serve us our cheese platter. It was then served a few minutes before our main order. Waiter was overworked on Sunday at 2PM, Managements problem.
Luckily the family met to talk and discuss. We were in no rush, but we were hungry.
We did not order dessert as that would have extended our stay by another hour.
Enjoyed their half-price burgers and kid's taco meal when we took our 5-year old grand daughter out for her birthday lunch. Portions are large and the food was cooked to perfection. We would recommend their Saturday lunch time when it was quiet and great service.
I made reservations for brunch on a Sunday for myself, another couple and our 2 infants. I made the reservation for 4 people, but clearly put in the notes a request for a table that could accommodate 2 strollers or car seats. When we arrived I was abruptly approached by a hostess (possibly the manager) who said that I needed to have called to make the reservation for 6. When I explained that I had made sure to include a note about the infants, she cut me off and said "at this restaurant you need to make reservations for 6 or more by phone". I apologized (even though I shouldn't have) and said that if we could be seated at a booth, we could put one child at the end, and I would hold ours. As she led us to our table, she loudly, more than once, said "babies coming through, stroller coming through!". It was clear that this was an inconvenience.
Our waitress and the food were great, but it took an hour to receive our food from the time we ordered, and the restaurant was not full.
Overall we would probably give it a second try, although I certainly hope we do not run into the woman at the front of the restaurant again.
We come to Clyde's a few times a year, when we want a "nice, but casual" dinner with drinks. I had the house chardonnay and crabcake dinner. My husband had an October-style microbrew and the lobster dinner. Can't beat the pricing for a lobster dinner at Clyde's in the Fall; it's a much better atmosphere than the local lobster chain, and the quality of the food is much better. We also shared the pumpkin cheesecake, which was superb. Great evening overall!
this place is hit or miss. this was our 3rd time. service is very excruciatingly slow if you get a certain server (no names). the bar is very cold. but it has great ambiance. the cocktail menu is great, and it's nice they serve warm bread - if you can ever get the server to bring it out within a decent time. the food the second time was the best restaurant meal i'd had in a while - excellent portion sizes and served just as I requested. the next time I ordered the same thing, but this time it came out different. no potatoes, the entrée portion was a lot smaller, the brussels sprouts salad was supposed to come with crispy pancetta and toasted pine nuts but there were maybe 3 tiny pieces of pancetta in the whole salad. disappointing because it was so good the previous time. it seems like there isn't enough staff and the serving just isn't consistent as far as portion size and what is actually plated goes. I probably won't be back for awhile.
Clyde’s was the first restaurant I visited when I first came to The US over 13years ago. The staff, the ambiance and the food quality is solid. Never have I ever been disappointed, never have I ever left any of the several locations I’ve been to less than fully satisfied.
So happy to be able to say that Clydes which is well known for it’s charm and beautiful setting also has great food as well. The new menu has lots of delicious choices and now my only problem is what to choose. We ordered the duck and salmon entrees and both were excellent. My dining companion who loves duck said it was one of the best he’s had anywhere in a long time. Definitely will be back for more!
Good , safe place for a reasonable dinner. The lobster special is hard to beat. Unfortunately, there was a table full of loud, obnoxious morons next to us making the noise level ridiculous. This group consisted of 1 female and maybe six males each obviously vying for attention, sad bunch of middle aged idiots. The manager did apologize upon their departure but should have intervened much sooner. The server, Nicole, handled them and her other customers professionally and courteously.
I almost always order the crab cake sandwich. The last two times I was very disappointed. There was too much filler and not enough of the supposed jumbo lump crab. The cake had a hard exterior and just not taste. For $20.00, I expect more than what I received.
Bread had been under a heat lamp and therefore was dried out and of course it came with hard butter Not a good combination.
Drinks were good and service was very good. I love the ambiance of the restaurant, but probably will not be back.
FOOD WAS GREAT. SERVICE WAS IMPECABLE. CLYDES AT BROADLANDS IS AN EXCELLENT PLACE TO TAKE GUESTS, BUSINESS ACQUAINTANCES, AND FAMILY. THE MENU IS BROAD AND VARIED WITH LOCAL FOODS AND DISTANT ONES. IT IS VERY EASY TO RECOMMEND CLYDES AT BROADLAND TO ANY ONE LOOKINF FOR AN OUTSTANDING
Stopped in for a nice dinner with our young granddaughters on a Saturday night. Used Open Table for a last minute reservation, which worked great. No waiting when we arrived. The server was terrific. The food was delicious. We had the NY Strip steak, grilled salmon and chicken schnitzel. Everything was served hot and in a reasonable amount of time. We all enjoyed it. Very friendly restaurant. Will definitely return.
I've been here several times, although the restaurant ambiance is beautiful, and the outside patio in spring and the fall wonderful, I would not recommend coming here for the food. It's mediocre yet expensive. The food at Costal Flats, Sweet Water and Jacksons, which are other Great American restaurants is much better. Come here for drinks at one of the 3 nice bars, but eat somewhere else.
