The service by Lexi was very good but a more experienced waitress would not have allowed the food into the dining room. The food was awful to the point of being embarrassing. My guests were very polite, but I can assure you that Clyde’s will not be a venue for future business meals.
Requested filet to be divided in half so it is not too thick when cooked medium well and it was not done at all. The server did not pay any attention to us and could not find him to correct the order or for refills on drinks. Needed to find other servers walking by to get any attention.
At the end the manager happened by and asked about the food and we told him the problems. He was very apologetic and offered us desert which we accepted and appreciated.
Bagpiper on St Patrick’s day was a special treat!
A quiet afternoon lunch with a friend. Food was served promptly it was pleasing to the eyes and quite tasty. A third party joined us about 45 minutes into our lunch and he too Was served quickly.
Service was VERY slow clearing dirty dishes. Missed the Liver/Bacon/Onions on the menu.
Clyde's was able to satisfy our three-generation family gathering, including some with dietary limitations. The food was excellent, the service friendly and informative and then unobtrusive for the rest of the evening. (Unfortunately that included a rather long wait for the check.)
Seated right away. Noise was a little high. Food was good. Service was excellent.
Very good experience.
First time back at Clyde's for awhile. Newer menu which was good - lots of choices. Calamari, Cesaer salad, Rockfish and scallops- all great! Clyde's Chardonnay -nice! Nice to revisit an " old friend".
Nice meal experience. Very respectful wait staff.xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx
It was an 11:30 lunch with 8 people. At first we were crammed into a small round table with 2 chairs blocking the server. We asked to be moved as more than half of the restaurant was empty. We were moved and our server was lovely. But it took over an hour for our food. The restaurant never reached half of capacity while we were there. The food was okay. We all pushed other meetings, and we skipped coffee/dessert. That’s a shame since it was a colleague’s birthday and we picked Clyde’s to ensure we could have dessert.
As always, we were amazed at the food - so consistently good!!! This day, however, we waited almost an hour for our food - even the appetizer (the humus trio, which is spectacular!!) took way too long. We had ten minutes to eat once our food was served.
Food options were varied and everything was very tasty. Service was a bit slow for our large group of 14, but th e servers gave good recommendations are very very friendly
I often go to Clyde's in Reston for business lunches. The restaurant itself, the service, and the food is always great. I really like the variety of menu items offered.
Even though we had a reservation they made us wait a while, we have to ask for a waiter since they were taking so long to take our order. They forgot one of the orders which we got almost at the time we were leaving. It was a birthday celebration but we didn't have a good time due to the poor service. The food is good overall but the service wasn't great at all. Very disappointing
Caitlyn was our wait staff. She is a wonderful person who took great care of us.
She ensured that our dining needs were totally satisfied in a joyful and enthusiastic
The food was excellent as well. We look forward to returning on our next visit to
I like the atmosphere, although having a conversation is kind of difficult as the noise is on a higher decibel. The lobby was crowded while waiting for our table (maybe because it was on a Saturday weekend). But I would recommend Clyde's restaurant as the prices are reasonable and good food!
Terrific brunch choices appreciated low carb options
The $14 burger was a frozen patty served with frozen french fries it was worth 5$. The fish and chips was overfried over battered old fish with the same frozen potatos. I will never return. Its an insult to charge for terrible food.
Can’t believe u discontinued the steak salad. They said u can put steak or chicken on the salads they had but yuck to arugula or steak on a ceaser salad. The old steak salad was a staple. Really disappointed that it is gone. Service fair at best. Had to ask for more water, ketchup etc These are just obvious things you should not have to ask for. Pretty disappointed in Clyde’s.
The portions were generous, particularly the trout entree. Our server was a delight. She recommended foods for one of my companions who was not feeling well after an overseas flight and he was happy with the selection.
Overall it was a good dinner- there were three of us from three continents and we were all able to find something we enjoyed on the menu.
The noise level was moderate and we were able to engage in conversation at our table without having to raise our voices.
It seems the parking debacle has killed weeknight business here. Very quiet on a Tuesday night at 7PM (prime dinner hour). So, it surprised us when service was a bit slow. While the food was mostly ok, both the turkey club and the burger had completely soggy bottoms to them. So disappointed with this in the turkey club because the top was toasted so beautifully. I didn't realize my husband's burger was the same until after we left. I didn't want to send mine back because I hate the waiting and eating alone thing. But the restaurant really needs to look into this. Did the plates sit too long? Do they need to find a better way to serve the sandwiches so they are not flat on a plate where the hot food creates steam that makes the toasted bread so soggy? Dessert was a real flop. Brownie sundae - the sundae was so hot, there was no ice cream, just ice cream soup.
I selected Clyde’s (Reston) to meet with an old friend who was in town, for Brunch. I'm used to going to the Mark's Center Clyde's, and had never dined at the Reston location. I made the reservation through Open Table, requesting a booth, preferably in a quiet(er) area so we could talk without straining to hear each other. They fulfilled the request perfectly. It was a comfortable booth, our drinks were wonderful, the food great and we spent a delightful Sunday afternoon catching up over cocktails, a delicious meal, and dessert. Our waiter was so gracious and professional. He never rushed us or hovered during our meal, and was instead only there for a brief check now and again when he thought we needed something, which is a signature attribute of Clyde's. They have some of the best wait staff in the business. We reflected our appreciation in our waiter's tip. It was all I could have wished for on this day.
I have always enjoyed dining at the Clyde's at Reston. The quality of the food is great, wine collection superior and if you love streak you get great meat! The menu is extensive and service is very good.
We like Clyde's a lot for a nice dinner. Our server was very attentive to my dietary needs, but reversed the foods I wanted with those I did not. We were catching a movie so I decided not to send back for a fix. Otherwise the meal was fine.
Food was fine. Service fair at best but the noise level simply UNACCEPTABLE!!!
Many years ago, when I came to dc on business from the west coast, I went to the Clyde’s in Germantown. It was always a special experience. We now live in Reston. With many options, Clyde’s rates near the top as a special place for business meals or family/friend gatherings.
We did not have good service at the restaurant. I made a reservation and we were seated 15 min late. We didn’t know who our waiter was. We had to ask serveral times for a waiter. No one asked us if we wanted drinks. After being seated for 45 min we finally had a waiter come and take our order. We didn’t have napkins or utensils for half of our party. We ended up taking it from other tables after asking several times. One of the girls at our table asked the waiter if the clam chowder soup had bacon in it and he said no. For religious reasons we do not eat bacon. She ended up taking a bite and there was bacon. The manger came and apologized and she ended p getting a free meal which was nice. This was for our friends big milestone of Turing 40 years old and it wasn’t a good experience. We enjoyed the food but the service was not good at all. Disappointed.
despite the fact that reservations were available starting at 5pm, they did not have any tables cleaned when we were there before our reservation. We did not get seated until almost 5:30. Meanwhile, there was no rush to get a table ready for us to sit. However, we were offered free appetizers. Did not make up for the fact that we were late getting to our movie.
Food and the variety of the menu is always a hit. Our group had steak salad, always a favorite, rock fish, reubens and a pasta dish. All were excellent.
It has been years since I was at a Clyde's and I was pleasantly surprised just how much better than "good" the Reston restaurant was the other night. Sufficient variety in the menu and the wine list was quite reasonably priced...special points for having a Verdejo on the list, by the way.
I dined here with my family when they visited from out of town. My dad is not an adventurous eater--more a meat and potatoes guy--and he loved the pork chops and scalloped potatoes. My mom and I enjoyed the creative cocktail selection. I'm not a vegetarian, but my mushroom bolognese was rich and satisfying. I would definitely return here with my mother-in-law who is gluten free because they seem to have a lot of options for her. Between the service and the quality of the food, this place was outstanding!
The food was delicious but the wait for the food was an hour. We had an 1130 reservations and the table was not ready when we arrived. It took 2 hours from start to finish, which shouldn't happen for lunch. People around us were getting served before us even after arriving after us. Not a choice for a birthday luncheon, too long.
It was Valentine's Day so we expected to wait long for our table even though we made a reservation. We waited 30 minutes happily and patiently. It was clear the staff were working hard to get everyone seated. Once seated we ordered delicious food and drink (crab dip is amazing). It took probably 45 minutes for our entrees to come out because of a mix up but we did not even notice because we were having such a good time and were satisfied by our appetizer. Still, our waiter compted us our dessert. What a perfect Valentine's Day.
Had a great time. Thank you for your service I will be back agian
It's a chain restaurant, I believe we got what we payed for. It was a solid 2 star restaurant and I'm not going to return.
I had a reservation for 7:30PM and I reached at 7:25PM. I was only seated at 7:50PM. Given the prices at the restaurant, I understand why they didn't offer drinks while we waited, however I would have been a lot happier and a lot more likely to return had they offered us a complimentary drink while we waited to be seated. We spent 120$ for dinner, 2 drinks would have cost them a few dollars.
After being seated, the waiter didn't arrive for 5 minutes. He took the order and didn't get us bread for another 10 minutes. Our food came a few minutes after he brought us the bread. The waiter only came back to check on us when we called him. He didn't check on us at all. At the end, our bill had an item that we hadn't ordered. We had to get it fixed which delayed our stay by another 5 minutes.
The steak was good for the price. I ordered medium rare and it was mostly medium rare - the thickest part was a little rare. I don't mind rare meat, so it's ok. Also the steak was only 37$, so whatever.
My wife ordered bolognese pasta. It was a mess. The pasta was overcooked and the sauce and pasta kind of gelled together. Yuck. The service was terrible, we were hungry, and we had already waited for about an hour since we got to the restaurant, so we didn't return it.
The brownie sundae was delicious. The ice-cream to brownie ratio was perfect.
Great Valentine's dinner experience. Very busy. Glad we had reservations.
Valentines Day, so the crowd was pretty heavy. Reservation for 7:00, arrived at 6:55, waited about 20 minutes for our table. As always, the ambience was great, the food was delicious, and the wait staff was friendly and responsive. Because of the special occasion, there was a strolling violinist ambling through the restaurant playing romantic music. Considering the location, the atmosphere and the wonderful menu, the prices are actually quite reasonable. One of my favorites for dining with my wife.
Waited 15 minutes past reservation time to be seated, but it was a crowded Valentines Day. Loved the live violinist walking around.
Valentine's Day is probably not the best time to maximize the experience of dining at Clydes, one of my favorite restaurants. While the food was still excellent, the ambiance of a special occasion was disrupted by the additional tables the restaurant set up in every possible location, including where we were seated next to the foyer waiting area. There was no light on or above the table, so my wife had to use her cell phone flashlight to read the menu. The proximity to the door, as well as the guests waiting to be seated, distracted from the normally intimate experience I have always enjoyed at Clydes. I was also disappointed that there was not a special Valentine's Day prix fixe menu offered. The overall experience was still good but it didn't live up to my expectations for a memorable Valentine's dinner with my date.
