Great for all kinds of occasions, romantic or family-oriented. Eves & nights the bar is great.
Clyde's is as close to a pub experience as we have in Northern Virginia. Good libations and very good meals. Prices are reasonable and the atmosphere is extremely casual without getting sloppy (track suits, etc.).
The wait staff is friendly and prompt without asking you how your meal was every three minutes.
One of the best features about Clyde is the broad menu. If you go as a group and some want salads, others steaks, burgers, fish or some other combination, you won't be disappointed. All of their food is well cooked and if you don't like it, you get it done how you like it.
Good fair and good value.
First visit; I'd equate it to what an Applebee's would be like if it was 50% classier. Nice furnature, good food, good service, great if you're in the area, but not worth a 30 minute drive.
Everytime I go to Clyde's of Reston, the food is AMAZING and the service is impechable. Wish all restaurants were like Clyde's of Reston!
It was nice to be able to talk with friends. Great front desk service. One thing, the order was wrong for one person. She ordered green beans versus spinach. But she didn't say a word. Table service was great. We love Cyde's especially the liver dinner.
Took some time getting our table, but they did provide a quiet one as requested. Server took a while to greet us and get drink orders, etc.. but made up for personality and did great checking on us through the meal. Overall, turned out to be another very good evening there. Thanks to the bartender for making a spring drink when not on the menu for winter.:)
Clyde's in Reston never fails to satisfy and impress. We love that their menu varies--never fixed for months at a time. And their offerings are always wide in range and extremely well done. But for one time (2 or 3 years ago) when their calves liver was not up to snuff, everything we have ordered--from appetizers to desserts has been excellent. We highly recommend Clydes of Reston!
Great food and excellent service. A good time was had by all.
A;ways a great spot to meet for lunch or dinner. The food is consistently good and fresh often using local produce.
Good food, excellent service, reservation worked, they were expecting us.
I had requested a booth in a quiet area and they seated myself and my party at a half booth with two chairs. Everyone was sitting down and i thought maybe this will be alright. Soon however my dad and i were playing seesaw with the table - it wobbled significantly. I then went back up front and explained the problem and reiterated my request. It was handled and i was happy with our new seating. I do not understand the laziness and or stupidity of hostesses/host who try to get away with seating customers in the least appealing seats when there are other options. Why should i bother putting in my request if it is ignored. Furthermore, why did not the staff ask me what my preference was. Why is this a common theme at many places? Otherwi good
Waiter did not return to ask for refills for tea and coffee which we wanted... or even to ask in the first place for coffee... was very busy Friday night..
Great place for lunch, especially outside and dinner is always fantastic.
I like your restaurant very much. Our waitress service wasn't great. But the service at the front desk and the young man who seated us at our table was very nice. The food was very good, and a nice price. Always like the atmosphere at the restaurant ( in the horse room )
Wrote in Special instructions that it was a birthday celebration for a Commissioner, a special occassion...also informed the Maitre'D and waitress... it was forgotten...reminded them and it still was forgotten. Some of the food was overcooked and only luke warm when served. Not at all like any experience at other Clyde's or Clyde affilliated restaurants. Will not return to this ONE!!
Very impressed with the variety on the lunch menu.
They were able to accommodate my special diet with ease.
the service was excellent; however, this is the second time I have been there and each time I had to send the food back because it was too too salty. I must note, I had never sent food back at any place I have been to for any reason. The waiter very nice and replace my dish for another choice on the menu.
The noise level was horrendous. Could barely hear my guest's conversation. Should never have gone to this restaurent. Would never recommend it to anyone. The Tyson's Clydes is one of my favorite restaurents. Should have driven there instead. The lady who took my
reservation, however, was most accomodating, however, as I needed to change the time of our arrival. Not knowing the area, I went there, because of the reputation of Clyde's McLean.
Not the most intimate setting, but a late dinner times lends to quiet down making the setting more personal
Simply the best restaurant in the DC/MD/VA area!
VEGTABLES WERE NASTY (BROCOLLI HAD A BAD SMELL)
WAITER REPLACED IT WITH STRING BEANS
Sunday brunch! Had a great time. Scotch egg was wonderfully done, as were the banana fritters. Pancakes were done differently than usual, which was nice. Got "The Heisman" - a big football roll stuffed with a corned beef hash. Pretty silly looking thing, but it was yummy. Other items on the menu looked appealing. Definitely will come back for brunch.
Points off, though, for not keeping the menu on their website up to date. Honestly, how long does it take to upload an accurate menu? I've called and asked about the menu on other occasions and whoever answers the phone isn't well-informed. Asked to have the menu emailed to me once and it took several hours.
The restaurant was very good! The only problem was my Open Table reservation could not be located. I am not sure if the error was the fault of the restaurant or in Open Table's system. Naturally, the restaurant employee said it was not the restaurant's fault. Fortunately, there were tables available.
Clyde's is consistently good and a good value. The food is good and the specials are excellent. Drinks are good and generous. The wait staff is friendly, mostly knowledgeable, and efficient. This is a good choice for every day dining and does well for speial occasions as well.
Clyde's is a DC institution for a reason. Every location is well executed, including the site, the decor, the staff and the selection and preparation of the food. I am a 35-year fan.
One of the few places around with a great Buffalo burger for those watching themselves. The only restaurant I know that provides filtered water in a nice pitcher on the table. Nice atmosphere and not too noisy even at busy lunch hour.
The mussels special was outstanding! Big, plump mussels in a tasty saffron and tomato broth with garlic aioli. We'll probably go back next week!
Good place to meet a friend and have a reliably good meal.
Love Clydes..... I have been going to this one since it opened. Food is always. Great and the service is great. Very accommodating.
Clyde's was a perfect place to meet for business and talk while having access to a nice diverse menu where everyone could find something to fit their palate.
Delicious food and great ambiance.
Very much enjoyed our visit. The food is moderately priced, but you get very good portion sizes. All the food we had was great. A couple minor things: The scallops in the scallop entree were cut in half (or smaller), so a little knock on points there as you can easily get full size scallops at other places. The crab cake I had had a small piece of shell in it. Apart from that, it was all solid. Fun combos- not your average run of the mill stuff.
Definitely will return!
Reliable, good food in a nice setting. Love the location but tough for people who cannot walk far. Parking garages are at least 2 blocks and handicapped parking is scarce.
Clydes is one of our favorite restaurants in the DC area and we dine at one of its three locations fairly regularly - Georgetown, Reston, or Tysons.
This was my first experience using OpenTable and it worked perfectly! Clydes had the table by the window ready when we arrived. The service was excellent and the food was great. We had the trout, crab cakes and filet. Each was a delight and complemented by delicious sides. Able to hold a good conversation but might have been more difficult closer to the bar. There are a lot of choices in Reston Town Center - IMO Clydes is consistently the best.
I love that each of the Clyde's allows their chefs to create something special and each one is a little bit different on the menus. The fall Salmon salad was delicious and the tuna stack appetizer makes for a filling lunch item too. The place was packed; always a good sign!
Food was just so so. Nothing exceptinable
I like the atmosphere and service.
Our waiter, Dustin, was excellent! He was nice, friendly, and his level of service is unsurpassed!!
