Clyde's of Reston Ratings and Reviews
I had made a reservation for 12 people for 8/22 at 11:45 am. I understand we were a large group, but we had horrible customer service from the 1 waitress (Alexis L) the whole time. She was unfriendly and unattentive. We waited for 45 min for our food. Mine was way overcooked. Then ordered 5 milkshakes near the end of our meal. When we asked when the they would be out, the waitress rudely said, "We have to make them." We waited 45 min for only 5 milkshakes. My manager did speak with the restaurant manager and she gave us 20% off our large bill. We had a 2 hour long lunch that should have taken an hour. I did notice our waitress was the only one back in our corner and had to serve over 22 guests. She needed help, but that is when she should be reaching out for help from other coworkers. I believe she shouldn't be doing large parties anymore. I hope you do take this into consideration because my company frequently goes to Clyde's. Service has slowly gotten worse and worse. I would hate to have this restaurant go out of business, but please re-evaluate who you are hiring.
Clydes has been a reliable standby for ages. Not inventive but delivered on the basics. We had brunch. 3 of had the eggs Benedict (crab, bacon, salmon). Muffin was white and soft, not toasty. It was swimming in Hollendase sauce. A problem if they can't get the eggs right.
We were a group of four, two couples having dinner with friends. We were seated promptly and our server arrived right away. Drinks were ordered and we were advised of everything not on the menu. When drinks arrived we ordered and enjoyed our drinks and conversation waiting on first courses. Among us we enjoyed the scallops, flank steak salad, a BLT, and salmon and it was all good. Dessert was amazing, Hagen Daas with chocolate sauce and coffee. A good time was had by all at a reasonable price. We shall return.
Clyde's is an old standby for us and didn't disappoint when we were there this week. Unique cocktails (greentinie), decent service and not overly noisy. One of the things I particularly like about Clyde's is their seasonal menu. I had halibut with zucchini and pesto and my partner had crab cakes. Both were delicious and the peach cobbler was to die for. Highly recommend.
The last two times we've dined here we've been somewhat disappointed. A month ago the veggie black bean burger was really not very tasty; I've had many different kinds and this was not in my top ten. This visit I ordered the all-American breakfast with the apple chicken sausage. The latter was not even tepid - it was cold. To the waitress's credit, she brought me a plate of 4 hot sausages and apologized profusely. The toast "may" have been buttered, but if so, it was undetectable (not served with butter or jam either). Another of us had a cup of chili and it was also cold - the cheese didn't even melt on it. Had to send it back as well. So poor attention to detail in the kitchen. This is not up to par with the Clydes' of old. We'll probably go somewhere else next time.
Clyde's Reston is among our favorite restaurants and has been so for many years. this occasions was no different it that it met our standard. It was our anniversary and the complementary split of champagne was a very a nice touch. Thanks for a memorable time.
Stopped in for quick bite on the patio after Saturday night concert at the town center. Service just as friendly as usual, but they could probably have used on more server outside on such a busy night. The burger and Rueben are old standbys for a reason--on point as always. My husband enjoyed his draft beer, but just skip the white sangria--tastes like apple cider thats been left out in the sun for a week--skip it.
Clyde's of Reston will always be my all-time favorite restaurant! I feel like I am home when I am there. The wait staff is excellent and the food - amazing! I've been going to Clyde's regularly for about 9 years and have NEVER had a bad meal there! Please bring back the turkey hot & brown sandwich for the fall!
After many excellent experiences at Clyde's restaurants over the years we had a ver disappointing dinner experience at Clyde's of Reston last Saturday. It was extremely noisy with a very large and loud party seated near us. Our waitress messed up on our order and our starter salads came out late, 10 seconds before our main course. We were entertaining friends from out of the area and were embarrassed. W'll find another Reston restaurant next time.
Went Sat.evening was very crowded-had reservation and got settled immediately and then we waited and waited-15 minutes to see a waiter. Said he would be back in a few minutes -finally got water and placed drink and dinner order at same time. And waited-drinks came out just before dinner. Finished and waited-took 15 minutes to get check.
Waiter was busy but had way too many tables.
Took family here for brunch. We chose to sit outside and was accommodated immediately. I wasn't a fan of the bench style seating, but it was not a deal breaker. We had a party of 7, which is large but I felt like to took unusually long for our food to come out. Then two of us were told that our orders could not be made, so we picked another and then the original entrees we picked ended up coming out. A little confusing. The sausage looked grey, and tasted the way it looked. It was nice outside and pleasant until an outdoor Zumba class started next to the seating area which distracted from the pleasantness, but that's the downfalls of sitting outside.
Been a while since I have been to Clydes. Didn't feel it was as good as it has been in the past. Have to admit that I was surprised that there was no one waiting for a table at 6:45pm on Sat when there was a concert later in the pavillion and there were seats available outdoors on a lovely evening. Perhaps a bit of a sign? Service was good. Food was ok, but not great. Water glass was cloudy with fingerprints. Did like that I could get Cava by the glass.
This used to be a real favorite of mine. Not a rush to go back soon. With Cooper Hawke going in nearby, they will have real competition.
Our reservation was for 3:00 pm on a Saturday. Evidently that was still considered Brunch. Nothing on the Brunch menu appealed to us so our server checked and brought us a dinner menu which we appreciated. We had to ask four times for butter, three times for bread. Server was scattered, ineffective.
An employee attempted to move tables around us and kept bumping into me. I finally had to get up and move so he could push a table past me.
Decent food but unprofessional service.
We eat often at many of the Clyde's restaurants and particularly at this restaurant.
But this was our worst experience. Sat down-waiters kept passing by and after
15 minutes a waitress came by and took our drink order and waited- Second waitress
came by with the drinks but mine had been ordered incorrectly in the system.
Finally got drink and our orders taken by second waitress-had to ask twice for bread while we waited.
Caught another waiter to order second drink as our waiter was no where in sight.
Halibut came out great but the salmon was very dry and over cooked(and they usually do
a great job on cooking fish).
Waited and waited forever to get our check-did not have any patience left to try and order
and get dessert.
In general, a good experience. The chicken and waffle dish has a smoked syrup that is an acquired taste that we did not appreciate. The restaurant allowed us to return it get something different. The food was good but not outstanding. The service was good and the location was nice. We would consider going back but it might not be a first choice.
I had made reservations at Clyde's for my husband's birthday dinner. It was a surprise for him, and I had requested the restaurant to make our table stand out from the rest. They did an incredible job by putting up balloons around the table and giving us a nice, huge, corner table. My husband was indeed surprised. Thanks a lot guys!
