Clyde's of Reston
Clyde's at Reston Town Center has mahogany and leather, antique model planes, boats and equestrian artifacts. Outdoor dining next to the Pavilion April thru October. American-style saloon menu.
Stopped in with wife, nephew and brother in law just as CoVi
We were so glad they have added a Fresh Catch of the Day to their menu. I Had the
fluke with an excellent sauce perfectly cooked. Wife had the crab cake which is always good.
Had lunch at Clydes in Reston for first time in awhile. Crowds were way down due to virus scare but staff were prepared with proper hygiene etc. Felt very safe there and food was excellent as always. Trying to do our best to support local businesses thru this tough time!
Laticia was an awesome server
Always enjoy brunch at Clyde's enjoyed french onion soup and salad this visit. Have enjoyed the reuben sandwich in prior visits. Terrific service and a quiet place for great conversation....
Reservation through OpenTable worked well. Service was superb. Calamari appetizer was not tasty and it was noted by waiter. Manager came over to apologize and offer to take care of the issue. Rest of food was good but not worth the prices. Alcoholic drink was watered down. Dessert was yummy. Don't believe we will return to this restaurant.
The service was very slow and the food made the other member of my party sick. In addition, the appetizer that we ordered was never brought to the table.
Everything was great, I’d definitely recommend.
Let me start by saying that nothing that went wrong at Clyde's had anything to do with the front end staff. They were amazing. Ok, that said, if I was "Clyde", I would shitcan the entire cook staff starting with the chef at the close of service tonight. Everything we ordered was overcooked to the point of being inedible. I ordered a rare filet. The first one I received was solid gray all the way through. Utterly ruined. Our amazing server apologized profusely and asked another member of our party if his steak was right. His was like a used sandal. They took both steaks back and told us that the chef would remake them both. 15 minutes later they came put again. IDENTICAL TO THE FIRST 2 STEAKS. Another gorgeous 8oz filet mignon that was hard as a rock and solid gray all the way through. I ate it because we were an hour into our meal and I was hungry. My side of broccolini never made it out of the kitchen.
Once again, the incredible front end staff apologized profusely and the management took our steaks off the bill and gave us complimentary dessert and coffee. I wish the rating system here was better able to capture how thoroughly the perfectly inept and talentless kitchen crew destroyed 4 gorgeous steaks and embarrassed the skilled professionals on the front end staff with their incompetence.
I was a chef and restaurant owner for over a decade and I have a lot of experience with good and bad staff on both ends of the house. I also understand that everyone has the occasional bad night but this was not that and everyone's reaction to what happened was not one of shocked confusion but one of familiar disappointment.
If you're considering Clyde's, reconsider. Try Denny's for a steak prepared with more care and skill.
Definitely not a restaurant for vegans - ugh. Not even a few good options
Mediocre food... noisy.... fairly expensive... crowded together
We were seated immediately but didn't see our server for almost 15 minutes. The manager came over and took our drink order. It took almost 10 minutes for the drinks to arrive at the table. Almost another 15-10 minutes pass by and our waiter comes over. He did express he was just sat with a few tables, so we brushed it off as not a big deal. We order. It took almost 45 minutes for our food to come out. We ordered wings, a vegetarian meal, a "burrito bowl" and a filet cooked medium rare, so not any item that would require a 45 minute wait time. The filet was very dry and over cooked (ordered medium rare but had no pink in the center.) The bearnaise sauce was not a sauce, it was cold and congealed in a little side bowl. A second round of drinks (a beer and a G&T) were ordered which took about 15 minutes. We sat at 8:15PM and didn't leave until about 10:00. We've never had any major issues with Clyde's, but were very disappointed with the overall experience of this dinner. It was near $150, took almost 2 hours and wasn't very good. I'm not sure we will be back any time soon. As a side note, the server, although not super attentive, was very nice when he did come by the table.
I won’t return to this location. I ordered a burger medium rare - it came to me well done and cold, with a side of cold fries. I can count on one hand how many times I’ve sent food back at a restaurant and this was one of those times. The floor manager was very gracious and apologetic when I asked to order something else. Despite that, I was so grossed out by the overcooked/cold burger that I plan to avoid Clyde’s of Reston.
Great service. The kid who served us was excellent. I ordered the Duroc pork with Brussels sprouts; and Maryland Crab soup as a starter. This was my second time dining here this week. What a great find!
Nearly perfect in every category. First visited in 1991; we appreciate decor has been virtually unchanged.
Why alter a winner? Wait service always excellent; we never feel hurried. Lighting subdued, but adequate.
This was our 60th anniversary, and we certainly did not choose to draw attention.
Finally, your head Chef deserves to take a bow.
Our breakfast was hot and delicious. Jason, our waiter, was very courteous and helpful. Third time visiting from out of town and would definitely recommend.
My food came out room temperature. My martini was meh. Staff was nice
Busy evening but since we were seated after the rush, had a nice relaxing meal. Food was good and service great.
The food was excellent. The service was very, very slow, and we only had 3 people.
Popular menu items were unavailable. They brought substitutes with the orders without telling us and the food was overcooked.
Went for my husband’s birthday and it was the biggest waste of time and effort. Our server moved at a snail’s pace and was indifferent at best. The entrees, when we finally got them were both overcooked and lukewarm. I didn’t eat mine and ended up getting chipotle on the way home instead. Never again.
Valentine’s Day Dinner with my husband
Had a very nice Valentine’s Day dinner. Food is simple for the most part but good. We go there a lot. The ambiance is really very relaxing there. Comfortable sitting and not noisy.
Clyde’s is a place that is once again doing a great job. Try it again. You will enjoy.
ordered the $150. Surf and turf valentine week special. It seemed the filet (turf) and crab cake (surf) were smaller than is typical. However both were delicious.
Wonderful place. Quiet, beautiful decor with ship and saddle models. Thought crab cake was a bit small, but enjoyed every other aspect of the place.
The Smith Island cake was very dry and we each only had one bite and did not finish it. I was disappointed that our waitress did not ask us if everything was alright with the cake and I certainly would have told her. For $10, we certainly had high expectations and were very disappointed.
Birthday but nothing special happened
Great staff. Wonderful atmosphere. Excellent at sorting allergies and such.
This experience was awful. I sat at the booth for 20 minutes with no one asking for anything. I went to the front desk to ask for the manager and when the manager showed. I told her that I had been sitting here with no wait staff to see about anything. I picked up my stuff and left. I am ashamed of this experience because I like the Clyde’s brand.
Crab cakes very good as usual, shrimp salad was pedestrian at best. I wouldn't order it again. Service was poor. Nice guy, just overloaded. It seemed that we were an afterthought. Clyde's Reston definitely not as good as it used to be just a few months back.
Anniversary dinner the steak was perfect as well as the sweet potato side however because we ate to the max we had asked if we could get our dessert to go and server said yes. He handed me the to go box and off we went. But I was disappointed with the dessert your very special creme brûlée it looked as though it was just plopped in the box . Would have appreciated the dessert placed in some sort of container not just placed or dropped into the box having the taste of the cardboard wasn’t what was expected.
The drinks and food were excellent.
There was a mistake in seating, but it was fixed and the manager was very nice. The only down side was we were seated in the back (my wife has trouble sitting in a booth and needed to sit in a chair) and the noise level can and did get high; the bigger groups sit in the rear.
It's so dark and it has musty smell.
Food was not good at all.
We had an enjoyable evening with my daughter and husband to celebrate my birthday. We all steak and each was grilled to perfection.
I believe our server's name was Darrell. He did a marvelous job meeting the allergy needs of a member of our party. He was cordial and supportive.
Excellent menu with selections for all palates. Thorough wine list allowed for the selection of a great wine. Dinner was well prepared. Was there during "prime time" for dinner, 7:30PM to about 9:00PM so it was a bit noisy but all in all, it didn't impact the dinner conversation. Loved the aviation theme for the decor. Looking forward to visiting again soon.
The food was mediocre but the service and atmosphere were great. My duck was overdone and under seasoned and the octopus appetizer was over cooked.
Good value and consistently great service from enthusiastic staff. Food is well prepared. Nicely decorated.
