Clyde's of Reston
Clyde's at Reston Town Center has mahogany and leather, antique model planes, boats and equestrian artifacts. Outdoor dining next to the Pavilion April thru October. American-style saloon menu.
Very pleasant dining experience; waiter was very attentive and worked to assist us in selecting a dish for a special diet diner.
Erica was a great waitress; she was very attentive but not invasive.
Fine, as usual. We like Clyde’s - our local go to place.
Great ambiance, service and food. Our group loved it. We’ll definitely be back!
Thanks for accommodating our large team for a last minute reservation. The team had never been to Clyde's and loved the variety in menu choices, the service and the overall experience. Well done.
The Service was sub-par, Drinks were horrible, Food was sub-par. I've heard that it is just this location. I have co-workers and family that love Clyde's in other locations. I would suggest going to another location altogether. Unfortunately, after spending over $300 not sure I would want to take the risk a second time.
The staff were exceptionally nice and knowledgeable of everything on the menu, very nice experience
We’ve been going to Clyde’s of Reston for over 20 years. But how the once consistent and dependable restaurant has fallen. The two young front desk hostesses at dinner on Halloween could not have been more dismissive - despite our reservation. No eye contact. No manners. One was more interested in holding hands with another employee and leaving her post to flirt with him all evening. The food that evening and next day — ugh. Not what it used to be. One silver lining: the wait staff is still very nice.
So sad. We miss you, old Clyde’s.
My wife's hamburger was somewhat burned on one side and the lobster tail was tough. The claw meat was good.
Food was very good, service outstanding. It was homecoming weekend and the restaurant was full of groups of students who were having a boisterous time so a more environment than usual.
Accommodating professionals served us from the time we entered the door!
Turkey in the turkey sandwich smelled a bit off. Had diareah when I got home.
Next morning the left over turkey (take home) was definitely off.
Every year we go to Clyde's on my birthday for the lobster special. I can tell you that the lobster is huge and it is delicious! Bonus: The fries came to our table still warm! And I loved trying out a new wine, the White Blend "The Wolftrap," (Boekenhoutskloof, Western Cape, South Africa, 2017). My husband however is vegetarian and was disappointed that Clyde's is not carrying the black bean veggie burger that he loves. Instead he got the Lentil & Quinoa Burger with arugula, roasted tomatoes, and cucumber-shallot crème fraîche (which he got on the side). He felt that the burger was too bland for him.
Maurice was great and the food delicious. We went for our 6th wedding anniversary but ended up having to bring our kids. It was still wonderful.
Menu seems small compared to Ashburn Clydes. Not bad overall
Every restaurant has those nights where everything just goes wrong. We just had one at Clyde's Reston. Been here countless times, would still recommend, but this time it was just awful. Our server needs to find a new line of work, this just isn't his calling. Mgmt acknowledged with free dessert, which was fine but didn't make up for an evening of frustration. My GF had the salmon and became violently ill later that night, passed after a couple days, she was fine before and after, and Clyde's was the only food we had eaten that day, so... Make of it what you will. Usually a great choice, I'd visit again... Passing on the fish, however.
Clyde’s used to be a place I looked forward to eating at but our recent experience was a huge disappointment. Food had little flavor and was overly greasy.
Consistently good food and service!
I've lived in Germany for a total of 6-years. I never had a chicken schnitzel (or any other schnitzel, like pork or veal) with a spicy sauce, either in Germany or Austria. There is hunter-style schnitzel (Jägerschnitzel), Zigeuner-style, and one with a sunny side egg and a small amount of caviar. Schnitzel is normally served with pomme frites (french fries). All in all, a very disappointing experience.
We had a delightful evening celebrating my daughter's 40th birthday. Our guests included our two grandsons. Most all attendants were lobster lovers, so they all got the lobster special and enjoyed it very much. Clyde's restaurant is dependable and reasonable and nice that it's in the Town Center of Reston. It's very attractive and pleasant.
Their lobster special is a great value and it was delicious! The waiter was very attentive.
The reuben and kids' meals were good. The steak salad was bland, from the dressing to the actual steak. Steak could use a marinade and be from skirt steak.
The worst meal I’ve had in perhaps... ever! Don’t eat the lobster special. They are buying the soft shell “summer” lobsters and pawning them off as 1 1/4 lbs. My filet mignonette was way underdone for medium rare and the onion rings had more fish flavor to them than anything else. Mac’N cheese was very greasy and more bechemel than real cheese. Overall this place is the last place that I would choose to dine. Choice meat, not prime. Poor seafood quality. Overall it’s obvious that the executive chef should be demoted to dishwasher. The most expensive mistake I’ve made in a long time. Stay away.
Food was delicious. Service was okay - alcoholic beverage order took a while, granted we were a group of 9 but almost everyone ordered the same drink, should not have taken as long as it did.
Cheese fondue wasn’t fondue but baked cheese that separated.
We love Clyde’s but we especially love Clyde’s during their annual Lobster special. This year was no different - a high quality Lobster - with the normal high level of service.
My only regret is we only made it once for the special this year!!!
Wait staff was excellent
Today's experience was well below Clyde's norm.
Wait staff was great...but had the Bolognese. Way to much pasta. Had to push push pasta around to get to the bolegnese sauce.
We (5 of us) loved the ambiance, food, service EXCEPT we ALL asked for decaf cappuccinos which came (we thought it was our perfect order) and we all enjoyed, BUT THEY WERE NOT DECAFFINATED!! We all were texting 1:30-2am because none of us could fall asleep that night!!! That is not acceptable!
Love sitting outside on the patio, great weather, great service, great food.
Overall our experience was subpar. Our server was very busy Soups came out cold and had to stand up to get someone’s attention. Entrees were ok and not exactly as described on the menu. Batter on the trout was heavy like a fish and chips. The sauce on the trout clearly sat there a whole and made the fish soggy.
Overall disappointing except for the Cubano which was very good.
The food was very good. Service was confused. Our server was very good but the people who delivered the food were completely at sea.
The hostess and waitress were soprano.
It was a bit disappointing. By 6:00 on a Saturday evening, had already run out of the scallops & grits entree and was out of one of their cake desserts. Typically the waiter will tell you beforehand that they are out of items on the menu, whereas our waiter informed us when we tried to order the items. So, I ordered the monthly special (lobster shepherd's pie) which I've had at various Clyde's locations over the past several years. This entree at Reston was bland. I had to add both salt and pepper to it & I never salt foods in restaurants.
We've been to the Clyde's in Ashburn and had a really good experience there. The service was really good, the staff couldn't have been friendlier, and the food was really good. We decided to try Clyde's in Reston - completely different experience. Our waiter seemed out of touch and not helpful. The food was mediocre. There was little reason we would come back after this experience.
Booths sat too low for all 4 of us and especially 1. They could not reseat us to a table with chairs and had no cushions but did put a chair at end of boothe which was helpful but still not comfortable. Service was slow. Food was so-so.
