Clyde's of Reston
Clyde's at Reston Town Center has mahogany and leather, antique model planes, boats and equestrian artifacts. Outdoor dining next to the Pavilion April thru October. American-style saloon menu.
Birthday! Wonderful meal - fresh and flavorful
I had to remind them it was my friend’s birthday. And only one waiter sang Happy Birthday. The table across from us had multiple singing waiters???
A bit rocky... 3 appetizers ordered for the table were slow to appear. After a longer than expected wait we were informed that they were delivered to the wrong table. Why the other table accepted is unclear but it pushed out our wait time. Manager did right the situation by supplying what was ordered at no charge but not until we asked where our order was!
Food itself is marginal. It’s been awhile since I’ve gone to a Clyde’s so can’t say if this is normal.
There are several other options @ the town center.
Medium rare steak came out well done. Scallops were small and also overdone. Reuben had so much meat that none of the rest of the flavors could be tasted. Dark.
new waiter was very slow. We had a time crunch and I requested that he process our bill first before clearing our table. But he cleared our table anyway and wasted time. Then he went inside and never came back, was helping another table. After 15 minutes we finally got our check
Too many seafood/fish items on menu currently
Should add at least a couple more other options with chicken or pork
Main course Salads are really pathetic, a bunch of field greens with a paltry amount of shredded vegetables, and stingy with the chicken if you request that it be added. I keep expecting better from Clyde's, but continue to be disappointed.
Food was really subpar. We’ve never been disappointed at other Clyde’s locations, but this one needs work on food quality. Will not go back.
We made our reservation on the same afternoon and got a great table inside for 4 at 7:15 PM. We arrived a few minutes early but were accommodated immediately and seated. Our wait person was Chris and he was very good and provided more than adequate service. We ordered an appetizer of the deviled eggs as only two wanted anything extra and they were very good. The were the right match to light our hunger fire. We had beers and a coke (the driver), water all around and the bar items came quickly as did the appetizer. We cover surf and turf in our main course orders; a NY Strip with onion rings, a bacon cheeseburger with fries, and two trout orders with veggies. Everyone enjoyed their choices, a second round of beers, and what appeared to be a bottomless coke tap. Between the main course, a loaf of hot bread with butter, and the eggs everyone was so full we didn't have room for dessert. The whole experience is what we are accustomed to at Clyde's in Reston and any other location for that matter. A pleasant evening with family and friend, in an inviting environment, with friendly and efficient wait staff, and good food. What else could you ask for. Thanks!! L. Payne
Enjoyed dinner the service was good and the food tasty.
Best pork chop preparation I've ever eaten. My guests likewise enjoyed their food. Server was very courteous and competent. Plan to return soon!
We waited in line at patio area to inform of our reservation only to be told we had to go to a different line inside. We did that and were seated shortly after. We ordered drinks and our food and after one hour and fifteen minutes with no sign of food or indication when it would arrive we told the manager we would be leaving. We were disappointed because we looked forward to eating here and heard good things. The waitress was very good, she made every effort but unfortunately the kitchen was not keeping up on this evening. Our first disappointment in six years of using Open Table.
Lamps on the tables were covered in dead nats, food was mediocre and cold, service was very nice but slow, and overall overpriced for the quality.
Good location, service is very slow and food is very overpriced. The food is just okay, but the place is priced the like a 4 star steakhouse. The food is more like a generic casual family restaurant than fine dining.
Poor, inexperienced server who forgot items and didn’t provide adequate service.
Will not be back!
Service was very poor. It took us over an hour and a half for a business lunch because our waiter was not around much, restaurant was not even that crowded. Will likely be taking my business elsewhere just because of the poor service.
Clydes’s lived up to its reputation for being a good value with great service. Our server was very accommodating with the staggered arrival of our guests, our extended conversation and flow if orders. The drinks and meals were perfectly prepared and served.
Clyde’s of Reston used to be one of my favorites in the Town Center so I’m sorry to say the food was TERRIBLE. My son got a hamburger that was blackened to a crisp and hard as a brick. When we sent it back for a new one, they just warmed the old one up and sent it back to us! My Reuben sandwich had old pastrami that had gone hard and discolored around the edges. Used to be our go-to spot...but won’t be back for a while. The manager would do well to figure out what’s up in the kitchen.
Fathers Day. Glad it was just hubby and I . Service was bad. Table across from us may have prefer $15 worth of food and received so much attention. We had to wave down servers (ours was nowhere in sight) whenever we wanted something and not once did Anatole ask how our food was or if we wanted refills. Not a good experience .
The service was unbelievably slow. And the restaurant was 1/2 empty. We had a 1pm reservation and finally got our check at 3pm. There were many moments were we didn't see our waitress for an excessive amount of time.
I was very disappointed with this trip to Clyde’s. My go-to brunch of eggs Chesapeake, bacon, and a Bloody Mary was ordered. What came out can only be described as mass-produced or off of an assembly line. Gone was the rich distinction of flavors, textures, and tastes. It was replaced with a watery drink and a plate of food that was just ok. This was not the Clyde’s I know and love.
Food was EXCELLENT! Two members in the party really enjoyed their meal. Highly recommend the restaurant.
Service was slow and the Birthday we told the staff about was forgotten.
They seemed understaffed. The restaurant wasn’t that crowded, but we had a long wait for everything: drinks, then dinner, then we had to energetically flag people down for an iced tea refill; then more waiting to get and pay the bill.
The meatloaf I ordered tasted fine, but was not hot. I would have sent it back but after waiting so long I was hungry!
The food at Clyde's is reliable American fare. Everything is locally sourced, thoughtfully prepared and well presented. Even though our first orders of steak frites had been sitting under a heat lamp, and cooked well beyond the medium rare that we had ordered, the manager made things right. All orders were replaced and comped by the manager. This cost them a star, but I would highly recommend the steak frites to anyone. We thoroughly enjoyed the service and will back to Clyde's very soon. Thank you to Clyde's management for putting their customer satisfaction first.
Say on the patio on a beautiful summer night. It was the best part of the evening. Service was erratic. Long gaps between order and action. Mussels were delicious but asked for more bread that didn’t arrived until well after we we finished with the mussels. My ribeye steak was a beautiful piece of meat but over cooked. I asked for medium rare and got medium. Kind of ruins it for me. Maybe just an off night for the restaurant?
Amazing food and service. I appreciate our server, Britney, asking about food allergies and helping navigate the menu. I really enjoyed the Reuben sandwich and pickled artichoke and shrimp appetizer.
The dinner was good and the service was great. We had Maryland scallops which were tasty and well presented, boulibaise which was well prepared and excellent and a strip steak with sides. Service was with a smile and professional.
Uninspired menu - no specials.
We had two children below 3 years old. They did great thanks to where you sat us and the attention you provided. Thanks so much for everything!!!
Clyde's was excellent. The food was delicious and the service great, I would recommend Clyde's of Reston for a evening with friends or for date night.
We have come to this location since it opened. This by far the worst experience we had. We chose the outdoor seating for my mom's 81st birthday. I arrived a little behind the rest of the family. 15 minutes later a server appeared to get me a drink. We ordered right away and it took another 45 minutes to get our lunch. My husband's fish tacos were the worst I had ever tasted, super dry and the fish was not fresh (this was a Thursday). We watched parties that arrived with us be served and leave, other parties that arrived well after our stay be served before us. The few times we tried to get our server's attention we were just ignored so we stopped and asked others for assistance. The highlight was the woman who understood the parking saga at RTC, she was able to come over with validation codes and make sure we were able to validate both our vehicles. We weren't able to leave from our 12 start lunch until 2:10, which made my mom miss her birthday mani and pedi. What a colossal disappointment. Don't see a return trip here anytime soon.
Good good, interior needs an update. xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx
The gazpacho and pasta Bolognese is fabulous. Clydes Reston is a hidden gem these days.
Good food, decent prices
Food is always excellent. I ordered the crab cake for the 1st time. Very disappointed. Size of a quarter and full of filler.
I was told Salmon will be cooked as medium which is perfect for me but it came and it was obviously very well done. Pork chop was salty and my son's chicken fingers were so thick and was still pink that he didn't even eat but just a couple of bites. We ordered chicken buffallo 1/2 dozen and the ones that came were really tiny qings. My child called it mini wings. I guess we went there with high expectations and then we left somewhat disappointed. The worst part is our server never really check on us and we had to wait for drinka to be refilled. I got very annoyed when there were 4 different groups who came about 10 minutes after us and they got their food fisrt. The guy who came and ordered after we did got his food first which is the same food I ordered. No reason for us to want to come back. Wished we stuck with original plan to go to McCormick.
Clydes is great for a date night or business dinner.
Always enjoy the Patio. Ideally there needs to be a way to reserve patio setting in advance, maybe being a Clyde member and with a small reservation charge. For these spring/summer months for those who frequent should have some priority.
This had to be the worst dining experience I've had in a long time. Here's why...
Our waiter did not know the menu very well. We wanted a pasta dish which is posted on their online menu (GEMELLI PRIMAVERA), but he didn't even know anything about it. When asked for an alternate veggie pasta he said he would check what they could do. After ordering the waiter didn't came back for at least 30 minutes, finally when he did he told my wife that he just but in buttered pasta as her order since they didn't have any pesto (never asked if that was ok), and then I never received my salad until the mains arrived. Some tables had bread, so after not being offered any we finally asked for it at that 30+ minute waiter check-in.
My wife originally wanted the veggie burger, but they ran out the day before. The menu says they are made fresh, but I ask if they are made fresh why did they not make any today? Usually good restaurants that have actual chefs can make a vegetarian pasta dish, instead my wife received the 'kids pasta', which was plain pasta noodles with a slight hint of butter...needless to say less than impressed. We paid $12 for a quarter box of plain noodles boiled. Highway robbery! I ordered their spring rice bowl and a full size salad. The spring rice bowl portion size was ridiculously small. It was smaller than my salad and cost twice as much. I looked around and all the other entrees in the restaurant were decent sized! The flavor of the rice bowl was nothing to write home about.
With the lousy service, subpar food and expensive prices we will not be coming back here.
This was the first time going to Clyde’s of Reston where the service was super slow and the food was just ok. Two meals were brought out at the same time but the third person waited at least 20 more min for their food. The burger was blackened on one side although it was ordered medium. Maybe it was an off night or new chef/wait staff.
