Clyde's of Georgetown
Great service! Nice atmosphere! Overall a very good experience.
Food was so great- I wiped the plate clean! I got steak and eggs and my boyfriend got the biscuits and gravy. I had a glass of the Cotes du Rhone, and he had the Blood Orange Negroni. Both drinks were wonderful and the food was outstanding! Friendly, attentive service and great atmosphere. Will definitely be back!
We ate brunch at Clyde’s while visiting Georgetown. The service was friendly and quick to start but got a little slow as the restaurant got busy. I had the Eggs Benne with crab cakes. They were excellent. My son loved the biscuits and gravy. My husband had the waffle and said it was good but not great. I atmosphere is cozy and comfy. I would definitely recommend Clyde’s.
It was a little cold.
Service was great. The food however was lacking in flavor.
We dined early on Valentines Day—admittedly not the best day to eat out. But the food was only ok—French onion soup wasn’t very hot and the lemon aioli that accompanied the steak frites was metallic tasting. It was ok. At least the company was nice.
A very charming decor, excellent service, very good food, and not noisy at lunchtime!
Enjoyable from beginning to end. Wonderful service, excellent food, great drinks. Will be back!
Food was excellent. Love the setting and the booths.
Our waitress was courteous and made sure our orders were accurate. The food was great!
Our experience at Clyde's was overall enjoyable, however, if I were to return I would come at a different time of day. We went for brunch. The food was good, but the restaurant was over-croweded. We felt as if we were squeezed in wherever they could fit an extra table. Our server was pleasant, however we felt as if he was just trying to rush table-turnover. Very fun atmosphere (bright, cool decor), but I would rather go at a time when it is not quite as crowded and rushed. Not a good place if you're looking for an intimate setting.
Great food. Great service. Reasonable prices. Loved the ambience
Warm space, nice menu and great service. A bit loud so if you’re thinking intimate convo, go somewhere else.
Everything was okay! The food, the ambiance, the location, the service. We came for brunch on a Sunday.
Or for sure recommend it for friend get-togethers, especially on Sundays (half off bottles of wine). Everything is better after a few bottles of wine.
The seating wasn’t very comfortable, especially since our table was so close to another table. My mom kept getting hit by the man behind her when he would abruptly back up his chair.
Food: my boyfriend ordered his steak medium rare, it came back a little more than medium. So, over cooked for sure. Nobody else at our table mentioned whether their food was good/bad, which is weird since that’s normally something you mention after a meal, which just means the food was “okay”. I got the chili as an appetizer, it was pretty good (I’d order it again.) Meals ordered: eggs Benedict, crouque madame, steak & eggs, chili, biscuits & gravy.
Service: I wish I could remember her name because she was really caring, you could tell. This was a brunch for my birthday & she really tried to make it special with the great service she gave us. I got a free dessert (bread pudding & white chocolate ice cream) it was soooo good!
Overall, I would go back with a smaller party. I had a party of 5 this go around for reference.
Food was good, service wasn’t so great.
I made reservations for 4 for 7pm on a Saturday night. We arrived 10 minutes early. Front desk did not have our reservation. And I did not have my phone with the reservation confirmation. It was embarrassing in front of my friends. We had to wait 40 minutes at the bar then they squeezed us into a tiny table in the middle of high traffic with broken chair. After that, the food and service was terrific. Then I went home and found the OpenTable confirmation. At least I knew it wasn't me!
Tight spaces small tables but food came fast service was ok
Great food and ambience! Fun and old tavern thyme feel. Our party had the Steak Frites, 2 toes of pasta and their bacon burger and it was all fantastic! Highly recommend. Will be going back soon. Fairly priced as well.
A wonderful meal whether you're celebrating a special occasion or just enjoying the night out. Responsive service, appealing environment, and delicious food at a reasonable price.
Good food, good value, mixed service (waiter forgot to bring our appetizer, despite being reminded twice, and then we got it after we ate our entrees). But the food was quite good, especially for the price, and the ambiance is nice.
Great food in a great setting
Wanted the front window two-top table -- and we got it. But there are two of them. In the winter, one is significantly warmer than the other! We got the one by the door and were cold.... Now we know and we will be back!
Birthday and they gave a free dessert!
Clyde's was fine, and the food was good not great. The flavor of the duck was overpowered by the sauce, and the two orders of duck we ordered at our table (one medium-rare, one medium-well) were indiscernible). The butternut squash ravioli was good, though not terribly abundant. That said, it appeared fine for my wife. Clyde's has a warm feel and is an acceptable place to duck in and eat in the winter, though for the price you might do a bit better food-wise. I would not say that I was "disappointed", but three stars feels appropriate.
On the three stars for service: Our server was not terribly warm, though more or less efficient. However, I forgot my gloves when we left, and an employee raced down M Street to give them to me, which was extraordinary.
Ordered steak and PLAIN Frites.
Waitress brought wrong frites with some weird flavor.
Then it took a long time to get the plain frites si that the meat was cold when the fries arrived
It was okay. Not alot of variety for restaurant week!! To be honest not worth the money..
We absolutely loved our experience at Clydes. The staff was friendly and helpful, and we loved the food. They have amazing salads!
A great place to brunch. Amazing service and food.
Overall a good brunch. Good food and a nice atmosphere. I would go back.
perfectly fine - Clyde's rarely goes wrong - an old standby
Love this place. Always come back to it when I want a tried and true restaurant. The service is excellent and very friendly. Good food at good prices. Has something for everyone!
Met after Escape Room.
My wife and I at here for our anniversary and we had a great time. Our server was knowledgeable about the menu and gave great recommendations! It gets a little loud when they are at full capacity but our dinner was at 6 and it was perfect!
Had not been to Clydes in ages so good to get back. Expectations and experience turned out even with a very enjoyable lunch.
Good food, good prices, nice menu
The service was fast and good
We had heard great things but we weren’t impressed. Nothing special. Food was good but there is nothing out of the ordinary. Except we noticed a server that brought out 5 meals on one arm...that’s impressive.
This place has gone down hill with the new management. Our waitress messed up quite a bit, forgot to bring food, and was MIA after we got our food. We used gift cards to pay and guess what, the bill was covered by the gift cards "exactly"? Go figure, what a coincidence.. wrong, we still has $10 on one of the cards, and she had the nerve to actually tell us we could leave the gift cards and she'd throw them out. I had asked her to check the I'll with the manager, and she came back with the same answer 20 minutes later. I know she was lieing, because the manager himself was running around himself with food and drinks. Will not return, and I used to love this place!
Restaurant doesn’t have enough servers and are very specific to where they cover. One waitress yelled at my family to stick to our waiter when we had just asked for a new knife and ketchup.
Otherwise, food is good.
Great spot in the heart of G'town. I sometimes hesitate to go to Clyde's Georgetown because it has a bit of a "tourist" reputation. Met with 5 friends for lunch on a Saturday. Booked in advance. I was so pleased that despite the crowd at the door, our table was ready shortly upon arrival and service was personal and attentive. The food is good, not remarkable, but sometimes that's just right. I had the french onion soup which was fine. My friend had the roast beef sandwich which was great. The fries are good. The wine list is great. The ambiance is charming. The location is great. Thanks.
A menu change since the last time we were there. Miss the tommy melt and fish and chips. hopefully they will come back!
