I would suggest a more extensive menu as on line is confusing which shows dinner entree for lunch. However, they are not available! Great place though!! Fireplace was fantastic!!
Very nice evening! Dependable food and service.
Great dinner with my family! Love to dine at Clyde’s!
A fun place with great food....staff was extremely nice and helpful...lovely for a casual meal...
Service was a little slow through a Saturday lunch, however, Clyde's is not a place I consider to be in-and-out because the experience and ambiance and food make it worthwhile.
Seats are uncomfortable, Crab Cakes are phenomenal!
A wonderful lunch with our two college grads, both in town from NYC. While it was pouring outside, inside was warm and cozy with great eats and service. Try the French Onion Soup and small greens salad. Or, any one of the burgers, sandwiches or other delights. There's a reason why everyone goes to Clyde's @ Georgetown. The staff is top notch and aim to please. There's something for everyone on the menu. Good job, Clyde's! We'll be back!
We had a nice thanksgiving meal here and it was perfect!
Great food, great ambiance. We were seated near the bar, and my main complaint is that we felt a cold draft every time someone walked into the restaurant. It was busy the night we ate there and service was a little slow. Overall, however, it was a great place
We had our Thanksgiving dinner here and it was fabulous. Clyde's had a traditional turkey dinner complete with choice of pie for dessert. Highly recommended.
Tables are too close to one another. Waiter could barely get through the tables. Food was so yummy. Their Thanksgiving meal was delicious.
If you offer swiss chard as part of your salmon dish - then please serve more then a tinny tinny little piece. The salmon was great , but that's all I got basically .
Went there for Thanksgiving dinner with my wife, the first time I'd been to Clyde's in Georgetown for a couple of decades. Any ratings less than five stars are because the place was mobbed; crowded and noisy. Hey, it was Thanksgiving. Service bore up remarkably well. Food couldn't have been better and it arrived in a very reasonable time.
disappointed in food compared to previous times, not the same quality.
Very disappointed Thanksgiving dining experience! I do give Clyde's kudos for the price - less than $30 for the meal but the quality of the food led a lot to be desired. Dry turkey, liquid-ey cranberry sauce, no bread. Just awful. Even Hostess makes a better apple pie. The green beans were the only thing worth eating. Get a burger there, not Thanksgiving.
We went for Thanksgiving and it was great. The Service was excellent even though the place was packed with people.
Thanksgiving dinner was great. Perfect ambiance for the holiday!
Good ambience in the “aircraft room”
Reservations are necessary
Thanksgiving Dinner at Clyde's is perfectly satisfactory. If you have a group who might want something non-traditional, they have menu choices or the traditional thanksgiving feast. The food is good and the dessert (especially the pecan pie) is excellent. We had a lovely table by the fireplace and the mood was festive and the service attentive without hovering. Celebrating any family/friend occasion at Clyde's of GT is a superb idea for which you will get top host credit!
‘‘Twas amazing. As it always is.
Found this place on a recent business trip, felt good, looked good, staff were very efficient and the food was great. Would definitely return, or visit another branch elsewhere when I have chance.
We had a reservation for 2 pm and watched the hostess give away two tables to walk-in parties of 5, then squeeze us into a booth. Our waitress was the most disinterested server we’ve ever come across. Drinks were late. Food was late and one dish forgotten. Bill included food we hadn’t ordered. Never offered to refill our sodas or water. Never apologized for a single mix-up. The people bringing food to our table were the bright spot: friendly, attentive and professional. They are the only reason we left a tip.
Food was very good. Waiter was attentive. Noise level wasn't bad. Seating was a little cramped however we were a table of seven so probably not an issue for smaller parties. All and all a very nice evening.
Mother in law said it was the best pasta she has ever had- pumpkin ravioli. She is dying for the recipe for the sauce. I am keto, my kids are not and neither are my in laws and everyone found something delicious to eat. Service was a little hurried, but other than that- definitely recommend. Good value as well for the price. Bar scene was buzzing when we left at 7-ish.
Muy buen servicio y la comida buena y a un precio normal.
Great food and service! Half price wine, too! Any questions? I thought not!
Food and service were excellent! We enjoyed our family dinner here
I arrived exactly on time for a 9:45 p.m. midweek reservation for one. The restaurant was very crowded and the only table available not in a back room was a small table by the window, which was fine with me, but it was very cramped and not so comfortable. About 15 minutes after I was seated they offered me a different table, but I was settled in well enough so stayed put. Unfortunately smoke from people stepping outside to smoke wafted right in to my table area numerous times.
Anyway, the service was friendly and attentive, and the food taste was excellent (I had the Long Island Duck), except the duck itself was barely warm. The waiter brought a replacement which was suitably warm (though not really hot) but unfortunately I had to rush through it as I had already been there quite a while. When the check came, I was charged for two duck dishes. The server remedied this fairly quickly after I pointed it out, but I would not expect such a mistake to happen at all at a supposedly fine establishment like Clyde's.
All in all it was a decent-tasting meal for the money, but the overall experience was a real letdown. I expected better from Clyde's.
We were in DC for a show and decided to grab a bite beforehand. The service was excellent and the food was very good--in other words it was just what we were looking for: convenient, cozy, comfortable and in the end commendable.
Met with out of town guests. The food and service was good, but the noise level was fairly high in the restaurant.
I made my reservation two weeks in advance. When my wife and I arrived, we were told their was no reservation in the system. We were told to sit at the bar and wait until a table was available. After sitting at the bar for thirty minutes. Another man remembered our name because he had seated my special needs sister some time ago. By the time we got to our table my sister was half finished with her meal.
This was to have been an early Thanksgiving day dinner with my family. I could not have been more disappointed.
I’d give the food a B+. The restaurant was quite noisy though being in the back room helped. Our service was very good. It’s a good spot for a large gathering in Georgetown.
Mussels were tiny. My son’s “medium” steak was brown throughout. Beer was tasty. Nice ambiance. Service was attentive at the beginning of the meal but then disappeared once the food arrived. Took a long time to find her to pay.
Great environment, great service, great food. Perfect date spot. If you haven't been here yet, definitely give it a try
Good ambiance, courteous and friendly staff. Food of highest quality. I selected scallops from a menu with a good variety of choices. So often a scallop dish will come with only two or three but this had seven, trimmed large scallops, served on a bed of farro ("a bit like barley" said the waiter when I asked). Excellent. My dining companion had a perfectly cooked very tasty burger.
On a more practical note, when I went to the restrooms one of the cubicles was out of paper. I mentioned this to the nearest waiter and someone was there to replenish in an instant.
There was no checkbox for this but I would recommend Clyde's for it's service, urban location, and consistency. Clyde's does not have an outstanding dish but it's comfortable and satisfying. And the coffee is excellent.
Service was notable. We had reservations for Sunday brunch but we did not like our table. I was with a friend who uses a cane and the table was squashed between 2 other tables. The hostess tried to make excuses at first but then found us more suitable and safe seating. She must have listened when we gave our reason for the change because after our meal a gentleman appeared to escort my friend, arms hooked, through the crowded restaurant.
Clyde’s is consistently excellent. A great neighborhood place, with the inherent overflow of tourists. Both get to enjoy their time spent with the ambiance, consistent quality of food and a couple great bar areas to select from inside. My favorite is without question the Crab Tower. It’s been modified over the years, but it’s still my favorite. Paired with a nice Sauvignon Blanc, there is no better light lunch, or appetizer.
The food was excellent and absolutely delicious. I had the Belgian waffle and my mouth is still watering. Service was superb. Watchful eye. There when we needed something. Had a great time. Plan to visit again.
Good, solid pub-themed bar and restaurant, in an excellent Georgetown location on the main M Street NW drag. Two bars, several dining areas and part of a regional small chain. Innovative menu, along with classics, and fresh, well-prepared selecions. The night we went, we were seated next to a large table with 8 guests, 4 of which were small children, noisy and not well-controlled by their parents, which took away from a nice night on the town for us, but the great service and server made up for the small detraction. Good stop when in the area.
We ordered the buffalo chicken wings and the crab stack for Happy Hour which was delicious. When we returned for dinner, I was very disappointed with the crab cake. It was small and soggy. Therefore, the low rating.
