Going away dinner
I had nice time at the restaurant the food was great
Enjoyed our lunch in Georgetown! Crab cakes For the win!
Service wa superb. We were not rushed, had everything we needed and wanted quickly. I love the room we were in with lots of aviation vintage art and a brick wall backdrop. the table was kinda of small for 3. It was a round bistro table but it didn't make our visit any less special. I would definitely come here again. food was delicious and prepared perfectly.
I made a 4:30 pm reservation the morning of, on a Sunday. I came here to close out the weekend of my boyfriend's 30th birthday. We arrived a little after 4 pm and were seated immediately. The hosts were warm and welcoming, as well as our waiters. We were seated next to a fire place, which was a nice touch and kept us warm. I didn't order food, but the two guava margaritas are amazing! Mind you, I'm a whiskey girl. My bf ordered the sliders, my sister ordered the veggie burger, and our friend ordered the buffalo wings. I didn't hear any complaints. We had an enjoyable time and even as more parties filled the place, it was still an intimate setting. Thanks Clyde's of Georgetown Sunday 2-9-18 evening staff!
P.S. The bread was delicious! (I did eat that)
Clydes brunch is always consistent. The Chesapeake Eggs Benedict is a must.
Been here twice before and was really excited to show this place to my friend who loves muscles..I bragged about how good the muscles were only to be disappointed by the fact that they changed the menu and stopped serving the muscles that had before. We tried to muscles that was new on the menu but of course wasn't the same..They were grainy and overcooked. Also i ordered the steak and eggs because it was brunch and then came another disappointment. The steak was really tough and it was medium and i asked for medium well. Needless to say i will not be to this Clydes for a long time..
Our table was extremely close to others on our left and right. We overheard all their conversations and had trouble hearing each other. I would not return unless I could be guaranteed a quieter setting.
The food was great. We had steak with truffle fries and crab cake. Steak was really good and crab cake was okay. We had peach doughnut for dessert. It had a vegetable taste, I personally don’t like it. In overall, it’s a restaurant that I want to revisit, and I’d like to try spaghetti next time
Absolutely fantastic hamburger. Shenandoah beef, well prepared, cooked to perfection. I had mine with blue cheese, and it was delicious. Arguably the best burger in DC, and we have a lot of places that try to do burgers.
Our server was delightful and attentive, meal was great we both are vegetarian, quite pleasantly full so no dessert...but those around us seemed to enjoy there's.
The food was excellent especially the crab appetizer. We had burgers and they were excellent and prepared to perfection. Great service and great atmosphere. Will be returned often to explore more menu options!
The food was OK but nothing spectacular. The service was excellent. The room was noisy and the tables made you feel like you were all cramped in. We were early for our reservation time of 6:30 by about a half hour but the staff were able to seat us right away which was nice.
It was really nice service was fast food was amazing
Absolutely fantastic cioppino. Clydes does many dishes very well, and this cioppino was definitely done exceedingly well. Like many Americans, I really enjoy Italian food, and Clydes did this meal superbly. Great sauce, lots of great seafood. I particularly thought the bucatini as a pasta was a great idea.
I'd love to see Clydes Georgetown put this dish on the permanent menu.
I had such a great meal there last year when I attended my annual meeting that I returned this year. Last year I had the butternut squash soup and it was the best I had ever tasted. This year I had a vegetarian pasta dish and it was adequate at best. It was too expensive for the small portion and it was more of a broth than a sauce. I had a great booth in the dining room, which I appreciated. The side with the bar is very, very noisy. Service was excellent - very gracious and attentive waitress.
Perfect for a quiet dinner on a cold evening. Happy to see an old favorite does not disappoint! Lots of GF choices too. And thank you Chef for visiting our table to answer our questions.
This is the original Clyde's, and it feels..eternal. The ambiance is as pleasant and engaging and proto-preppy as it was..oh, 40 years ago. Yet it still feels fresh. I was just happy to be there for Sunday brunch. The food is good, the service always young, energetic and fresh-faced. It's a nice Georgetown experience. Now and forever. :)
Our server Torry (please pardon the spelling)... She did a phenomenal job!!! She was knowledgeable, very friendly, courteous, she paid close attention to our requests and needs...checked in on how we were doing...she had a pleasant demeanor and was he very customer focused! She was largely part of the reason my friends and the birthday fella in our party had such an amazing and memorable brunch afternoon at Clyde's Georgetown. I would appreciate this letter be sent and shared with Torry's manager and her.
Best regards,

Very nice place! The food was very good but a little pricy. Service was also good!
Avoid the Restaurant Week menu...
The bar took a long time to make my drink but the server was very attentive and apologetic for the wait.
Restaurant Week 2018. I'll get the disappointing dishes out of the way first. The crab tower app was visually appealing but disappointing in taste (and size). It was only about 2 bites and tasted of mayonnaise -- total rip off. The banana bread pudding was a bomb as well: there was not one scintilla of banana flavoring in it. And thank goodness I asked for the white chocolate sauce on the side -- it was basically a ramekin of melted sugar, so cloyingly sweet it was almost inedible. The only thing going for this dessert was the SMALL scoop of vanilla ice ream atop it.
However, the entree -- kaboucha squash -- was INCREDIBLE!! Cooked perfectly and a generous portion; the apple cider reduction was a good touch. So Clyde's got one out of three right. The two-tops are right on top of each other, so you're subjected to your neighbors' conversations. It's like you're part of their table. There's definitely room to spread those tables out, and Clyde's should make a point to do so.
The waitress was pleasant enough, but I barely saw her. The food runner was terrible -- twice he walked up to the table and practically flung my the plates on to the table like they were frisbees. ZERO conversation -- no "Here's your fill-in-the-blank dish, enjoy. Do you need anything else, etc" Nothing, zero engagement and a brusque and surly manner. Truthfully, the only thing going for this place was that squash entree!!
Very unusual in that I rec'd an em that Clydes had cancelled my reservation. I have pics of us eating there. We told them we had a reservtion when we arrived, so not quite sure why they reported it as cancelled.
Clyde’s was great! My friend and I were visiting DC for the day and came here for brunch. The food was amazing and the staff was really friendly. Would highly recommend!
Good food and location. Good selection of drinks. Nice decor.
The food is basic comfort food with friendly, attentive, but not intrusive service. The Staff was as accommodating as the food was delicious. Will definitely comeback, professionally and personally.
We were seated quickly at a booth as we had requested. The waitstaff was exceptional: a young woman student at American University who knew the menu top to bottom with wise comments on each selection. Food was imaginative and and up to a high standard. The restaurant is definitively up for return visits.
Had a group with various allergies, but the staff made everyone feel welcome and the food was handled with utmost care. Meal was delicious. Will definitely go back.
We arrived early -- but no one even blinked; everyone was perfectly gracious, the food was excellent, but the waiter could have been a bit more attentive -- we think he had too many tables.
It was quite cramped, but the pancakes and waffles were great. Really good turkey sausage.
Another great Clyde's location! We had fantastic food, a wonderful and attentive waiter, fast service, and everything came out perfectly. We had a member in our group with gluten and lactose allergies, and he had his pick of dishes! Many thanks to the establishment for being so easy going when things get picky. Great time despite being a busy Friday night and a packed house!
Outstanding food, atmosphere and service. Although a tiny place, they did a great job accommodating my group of 11 recently. My must go to every time I'm in DC.
Classic and glad not much had changed in 45 years.
We had a group of 4 and every meal was delicious. Service was impeccable and of course you can’t best the location right in the center of Georgetown
My US colleagues asked to book a restaurant (as I’m French i should find nice one!). it was very nice. The food is not good it’s real cuisine, really good and the ambiance warm and cosy. I came, I come and I will come again.
Very good food and service. Typical Clyde's experience. Very dependable for excellence
The restaurant is very lovely. The server was very nice, but the food was bland and overpriced.
Went to brunch before a Saturday matinee at the Kennedy Center. Great menus, comfortable, quick, efficient service and warm atmosphere! Highly recommend.
Service was great. Steak and burger great. Chilli didn't sit well with anyone in my party.
The service was totally amateur: one of the main courses was not prepared as ordered (steak was overcooked instead of medium rare); the server forgot to serve the drink to one of the guests. After the meal, we ordered 2 espressos and a regular coffee that didn't arrive after 20 minutes. Upon our complaint, we were told that the espresso machine was broken. After another 10 minutes, regular coffee arrived (free of charge). We had to wait another 15 minutes for the check. The level of noise was unbearable, with people screaming at top voice at the bar. Clyde's used to be a reasonable choice for a get together, but the Georgetown location is clearly decadent, especially the service.
