In DC for an out of town conference, this place came highly recommended and did not disappoint. The food, drinks were yummy, but what we found most pleasurable was the customer service . It was out standing !

Good food and great service - Went before seeing a movie. Only wish they could have validated parking before 6:00 pm dinner.

Great food, tight tables. Great service. The crowd thinned out after 9 on a weekday. Easier to hold a conversation after that point.

Went here on a recomondation from our Air B & B.Made a reservation which proved benifical as it was packed on Tues.at 7:00.Seated right away w2ith very friendly greeter, waiter and bus person.Waiter made strong suggestions for starters and mains.Sister had an excellent mango martini and wife and I had apple ciders we hadn't tried before(also excellent.Home made bread brought to the table along with water that was left on the table so we could help ourselves. We shared the crab tower starter.(crab, caviar, crispy rice cake, wakame salad, avacado and great sauce)Really excellent starter servered with home made crackers.Wife had papperdelle with roasted mushrooms and chicken(needed just a touch more salt.Sister had the crab cake which she said was one of the better ones she's had(considers herself a crab cake expert).I had the roast duck on wild rice with heirloom carrots.I've had lots of duck and this is the best I've ever had.(also the waiters favorite dish)In fact after forcing sister and wife to try it they both said they wished they had ordered it(and they don't eat duck)Service maybe the friendliest and most helpful I've ever had.Even staff that didn't serve us,thanked us for coming.Great evening.

From the moment we entered the restaurant, we knew it would be a great night. The hostess was friendly. Our table was waiting for us when we arrived. The waiter was helpful and fun to talk with. All 4 in our party had something different to eat, all 4 people loved their meals. Fun place to go out with friends or as a family.

Our first night in George Town.
The restaurant is centrally situated on lively M Street.
Our waitress, Tori, was lovely.
The setting was nice. I would recommend it and would return

It was just as wonderful if not better than I remember. I moved to Florida for 14 years and recently returned to live in Va. I had friends visiting and celebrating a get together.
The food was the best ever! They were quit impressed and I was so glad I took them there.
The following day we were in China Town and we saw the Clyde’s there so they wanted to go in for lunch. They said your hamburgers were the best they ever had!
I love Clyde’s and can’t wait to return!

Love Clyde's for the quality of food and service. My favorite dishes are the grilled octopus and brussel sprout salad. The octopus was all eaten on Easter and I had to find another dish. I picked the salmon burger. It was delicious--a great taste combination with the fish and seaweed salad.

We were there for Easter. It was the regular breakfast menu, which was somewhat limited but delicious. We chose Croque Madame ( without the egg!) It was huge and delicious. The noise level was high. Some tables are too close for a nice quiet enjoyable experience. We were fortunate enough to have a table in the corner but I felt bad for the random table for 2 that was in the middle of traffic

It was Saturday night at 6:30pm, but the server's complete inattentiveness and failure to provide accompanying condiments, more water/beverages, or to check back on the food were just plain neglect. I probably shouldn't have still tipped him well, but I feel badly for servers' poor wages. They also were out of all the teas that I'd like except English breakfast which I found really poor planning on management's part. The food was lukewarm and underwhelming, not at all to the standard to which I hold Clyde's properties.

Great food! Stopped in after touring Georgetown for the day. Right in the middle of the shops on the main street. Very crowded and loud, but service was attentive. Soup of the day was a great creamy fish chowder. Excellent fries!

Hadn't been to Clyde's for a while. Had a fun brunch with friends in lively, vibrant setting. Lots of local color, popular with tourists but with locals as well. Food was good - lots of choices and nicely executed. Our server was friendly and very competent despite it being a very busy Saturday. Reserve in advance or expect to wait (they can give you a buzzer so you can shop while you wait). Fun cocktail menu.

In Georgetown for the weekend and wanted a restaurant that was a sure bet for good food. The menu had a nice variety of options. Our reservation was at 7. We got there at 7 and they informed us it was at 7:30 and they wouldn’t be able to seat us until 7:30. I double checked my phone, our reservation was indeed at 7. They said they would seat us. It took 15 minutes for the server to take a drink order. The service was terrible. It was loud and crowded. The food was underwhelming and certainly not what we’d hoped. Not fine dining at all. Disappointed we wasted a meal.

We were visiting Daughter for Easter weekend and had a great time at Clyde's. It is on the main drag in Georgetown, and after a cold brisk afternoon of shopping, it was a great warm and inviting end to our afternoon. We had a reservation, but had not received any recommendations previously. We'll definitely go back again! Everything awesome especially the service. I hope the management can track down and recognize our waiter!

Clyde's has really gotten busy! Tables are crammed into every possible floor space. This makes for somewhat uncomfortable dining (we were seated so that one person was on a bench along the wall and the other person was literally jammed up against another person's chair sitting perpendicular to us). This also makes for a very loud environment.
Food: We started with cups of seafood chowder (excellent) and split an order of carnitas tacos (also excellent!). One of us had the Clyde's sliders for a main - burgers were cooked properly but should have been charred on the outside - these didn't appear to even be grilled - they were like the photo on the website - just cooked. They would have been better smashed and charred/grilled). The other party had the bucatini and clams - this was very flavorful - excellent sauce but marred by overcooked pasta. The bucatini were mushy. Most likely the pasta was left in the sauce too long before serving. Overall, decent meal but don't expect anything exciting or interesting.
Wait staff were very efficient and very attentive, despite the chaos in the restaurant.

We were seated right away with our reservation and given water promptly. After looking at the menu and deciding on a few starters we had to flag down the server to order. After putting the order in she returned for our entree order. I felt rushed and at that point wished we didn’t get starters bc I knew the entrees were right behind.she delayed in taking our order from the outset and it rushed our dinner. The food was just okay, nothing special, hot, fresh and tasty. I got the salmon with lentils and kale and the salmon appeared to be a frozen cut from a Costco bag and lentils un-flavorful and watery, husband got the Rueben sandwich was piled high and tasty, son got pasta Bolognese which was tasty and he enjoyed. Overall, it was just fine. We are visiting DC and would try another place before coming back here but nothing was negative, it was just ok!

We used to come to Clyde's many years ago, when we lived in DC. Visiting now with teenage son, thought it would be fun to show him a local classic. We had a reservation but still had to wait about 20 minutes. The atmosphere is standard upscale pub, the bartender made great drinks, and the dinner menu is basic but sufficiently varied to find something for everyone. Our server, while very friendly, forgot a drink order, brought an incorrect side, and couldn't be found for a long stretch. The food was fine, but certainly not memorable or really above average. Maybe brunch would be a better bet.

Wonderful, reliable venue with delicious food! Our only disappointment was when we came in at 5 p.m. before our 6:30 p.m. reservation on a Thursday night, and requested a table in the "Omelet" room for a truly authentic Clyde's dining experience for our two friends who were visiting from Australia. The Manager said that they seat people as they come, even with reservations, and they couldn't accommodate our request. We arrived early for the our 6:30 p.m. reservation, and alas they had no table for us in the "Omelet" room, and instead sat us in the rear of the restaurant, which is still nice, of course, but not the same authentic Georgetown feel we wanted to give our Australian friends.

It took them 10 minutes to get us seated. Food was served very quickly and was good, but our table did not even get bread like the other tables. Our server changed in the middle. A conversation was impossible to have amidst all the loud noice. It took us another 10 minutes just to catch our waiter and pay our bill.
