Took 15 min to get bottle of wine and water to the table. Server was not around a lot. Salmon was ok but odd mixture on the bottom of it. Was just as OK experience. Probably wouldn’t go back, too many other good food options around.
Clyde's is always reliable and this occasion proved no different. There was something for everyone in our group of 7. Sunday brunch the restaurant is full and the noise level is 'energetic'. Big plus is the half price wine list.
If you want a good Clydes experience, go to Chinatown.
Georgetown service was poor and food was meh. Clydes crabcake sandwich is normally great...but not this one.
You can never go wrong to eat at Clyde's for brunch when you are in Georgetown. We all had Eggs Benedict and it did not disappoint. If you are not a fan of breakfast potatoes - fresh fruit is a great option.....
We celebrated our 33rd anniversary dinner here. We love the warmth and ambiance of the Omelet room. We are regulars here and we are always treated so well. Tonight we tried the cheese sampling as an appetizer. Really delicious. My husband had the rock fish and it was beautifully plated and served. The filet of fish was thick and perfectly cooked. I had the crab cake and it was delicious. The unique pairing with shredded brussel sprouts was delicious. The staff prepared a unique anniversary brownie sundae for us. Thank you for creating a special evening for us.
While in DC for a spring break vacation with my daughter we found Clyde’s. I can not give a good review specifically due to parking. They claim to validate parking in the attached parking garage after 6:00. We had a 7:00 reservation and didn’t get into the garage until 6:40. After a good meal with great service we were given a validation ticket and told how to use it. Well the ticket expired in 2017 and a less than 2 hour parking stay was $16.00. Very embarrassing when your blocked in the line to exit and had to call the attendant who says “Clyde’s does this all the time”. If that’s their idea of good business I encourage everyone to stay away as who knows what else they may try to pull over on unsuspecting visitors.
We had a good dinner and were able to hear each other talk
Always good. Good service and food is very good. Ambiance great job
Had a reservation and was seated promptly. Although server was pleasant and professional, it appeared that he had too many tables, because we were left for long stretches without being checked on. Our food took at least 45 minutes to get to our table. Food was tasty , with caveats. Potatoes and Brussels sprouts served with NY strip were mediocre. We were disturbed by a young child at the next table who repeatedly screamed at the top of her lungs, and whose parents seemed oblivious to her screams. Had hoped for a quite dinner before a show, but ended up just being happy to get away from the noise!
A friend who went to Georgetown a long time ago recommended. I went with my daughter, and mom. The place has great ambiance and the staff was friendly and helpful. The crab cakes and the cheeseburger were delicious, we found the crab appetizer good but small. My daughter liked it so much she wants to go to graduate school in the area.
Poor service experience, server didn’t really check in, empty drinks, we had to chase server to place order for entree, felt like we were inconveniencing our server by ordering our drinks, 10+ minute wait for table, food was very meh. Fries were stale and luke warm, burger bun looked cheap quality. Not worth a $100 between 2 people. Didn’t get dining check in points either!?!?
Great happy hour, good food and excellent service. I would recommend!
We are regulars at this Clyde's, as well as their other restaurants. Menu, which is pretty much the same at each location, offers great variety, locally sourced, well prepared and presented by well trained servers, always in unique decor. Very good value for quality.
We go to Clyde’s about 3 times per year when we are in the area. It is consistently good food, variety of choices, great atmosphere, and professional and courteous service
Arrived on time for our reservation, and were seated immediately! Amazing. Super waiter, very helpful and informative. Delicious and affordable food. Lovely ambiance. For some reason, none of us had been here for years, and now we will return often. Just very impressed with the entire restaurant. We had a terrific evening there.
Consistent good quality food, good environment and professional staff
Great food, great service. only problem was i was maybe 7 inches from the elbow of the couple next to ours the whole evening. Very packed.
I was disappointed with the hostess’ initial choice of table for my party of 2. Given that I had a reservation and there were a plethora of much sexier seating options, why she tried to squeeze us along a banquette, sandwiched between 2 other parties is beyond me. She had to ask a lady sitting at the next table over to move her purse from what was going to be my seat. I interrupted this awkward moment and asked for a different table that was less crowded. I could see if there had been only one section open for lunch, but there people seated throughout the entire restaurant, and again, there were many other empty tables. Anyway, I got over her thoughtlessness once we were appropriately accommodated. The service was great, otherwise.
The attitude and great customer service here make one of my favorites in the area . They an appealing menu with a great variety of choices for any taste.
High marks for all categories. Madison was our server and made our evening special.
Outstanding service, made everyone in group feel welcome.
Great bartender. Knows exactly how to run his bar! Food and service was great. Will defiantly be back.
This is a wonderful restaurant that was very kid friendly! They have one of the best kids menus I've ever encountered, fantastic ambiance, and great tasting food. I encountered a food I was allergic to in one of my dishes and they promptly took it away and replaced with something that did not have that allergen in it. They charged me for the less expensive dish too (the first one they had to take away). This is our new favorite restaurant in DC. We will definitely be repeat customers. Thank you for making our experience an extremely enjoyable one.
Loved the ambiance & food selection! Service was a bit slow.
I was extremely disappointed with Clyde's. The food was very heavy and clunky. Many people suggested the crab tower, which wasn't that great. The red velvet cake was extremely dense. The cream cheese frosting was more cheese than cream. I'm from NY so maybe my standards are higher, but I was embarrassed to take my relative here to eat. The resturant was loud and we were seated in a busy area. People kept knocking our jackets off our chairs to the floor.
I really enjoyed our meal of appetizers. We tried the Mezze Platter and the mussels. Both were delicious. They are offering a delicious salad with arugula and citrus fruit. It is absolutely delicious. The service at Clyde’s is good. Our server did a competent job. We love the ambiance of the Omelet room. We had a really good and light meal.
Wonderful experience! This was my husband's go to place in 1974-75 when he lived and worked in DC. He had not been back since but we were in town to attend a concert at The Kennedy Center,so I made an early reservation for our dinner. We were not disappointed! Had drinks at the back bar with great service and very personable bartender followed by a wonderful dinner. Service was excellent and quick, allowing us to reach our concert with time to spare.
We eat at Clyde’s of Georgetown pretty frequently when we are in town but this last visit was very disappointing. Our server needed to reminded twice to bring our drink and rolls then when we received our rock fish dinner the fish had an odor and did not taste fresh.
This is my go-to place in Washington for a great meal using local ingredients in a creative way. This time, I ordered the rockfish, which is sea bass over a winter medley of vegetables. It was cooked perfectly and timely. My dining partner ordered the Long Island duck, which he loved. The atmosphere is nice. It is an old-fashioned saloon with different nooks and rooms so it never gets too loud. And the staff is phenomenal, making it a great experience for all and always eager to please. When I wanted to change my order, he was happy to do so. Thank you for making this a wonderful experience all around. I look forward to returning next month.
The Manager Aubrie made our dinner especially great!
Crowded and very noisy. Terrible table by drafty door. Long hair found in dinner. No recompense.
Clyde s does what it does well. For an always busy restaurant the kitchen turns out perfectly fine meals. Be sure to make a reservation and if you go on Sunday almost all wines (cellar wines being the exception) are half priced.
My wife and I had a great time with our baby and some friends. The restaurant was kind enough to change our reservation to make room for the baby. Great service and excellent food!
We made a reservation, but watched (2) different groups with the same number of people that came in after us get seated while our table was "being checked and cleared." In the end we were seated at a booth that was clear the entire time we were waiting. Our waitress was over taxed with too many tables. Food was good, but nothing special considering the prices. Very busy with a lot of turnover, movement and noise.
Going away dinner
I had nice time at the restaurant the food was great
Enjoyed our lunch in Georgetown! Crab cakes For the win!
I made a 4:30 pm reservation the morning of, on a Sunday. I came here to close out the weekend of my boyfriend's 30th birthday. We arrived a little after 4 pm and were seated immediately. The hosts were warm and welcoming, as well as our waiters. We were seated next to a fire place, which was a nice touch and kept us warm. I didn't order food, but the two guava margaritas are amazing! Mind you, I'm a whiskey girl. My bf ordered the sliders, my sister ordered the veggie burger, and our friend ordered the buffalo wings. I didn't hear any complaints. We had an enjoyable time and even as more parties filled the place, it was still an intimate setting. Thanks Clyde's of Georgetown Sunday 2-9-18 evening staff!
P.S. The bread was delicious! (I did eat that)
Clydes brunch is always consistent. The Chesapeake Eggs Benedict is a must.
Been here twice before and was really excited to show this place to my friend who loves muscles..I bragged about how good the muscles were only to be disappointed by the fact that they changed the menu and stopped serving the muscles that had before. We tried to muscles that was new on the menu but of course wasn't the same..They were grainy and overcooked. Also i ordered the steak and eggs because it was brunch and then came another disappointment. The steak was really tough and it was medium and i asked for medium well. Needless to say i will not be to this Clydes for a long time..
