Clyde's of Georgetown
Food was great, definitely one for the books!
It was just terribly crowded. But our server was excellent!
We were dining with a little girl and our server was wonderful. Everyone enjoyed their food. We had a great visit.
The service was good and quick. The food was good quality and we had a great time.
Food was great. Environment was great. Bloody Mary was a little weak. But i cannot get over the bugs I saw in the bathroom that shares a wall with the kitchen.
Food was good
The waitress had an attitude and acted like she was doing us a favor waiting on us. Overall though we like Clyde’s.
This is a Washington institution and reliable for Sunday brunch. Unfortunately it is so loud when the restaurant is pretty full that you cannot hear anything your table mates are saying. Love the place, love the food, sad that it can get so incredibly loud.
Food was delicious and our server James was phenomenal. We were dropping our daughter off at college and had such a lovely meal together.
Standard Clyde’s food & adequate service with expected Georgetown prices. Nothing great but nothing bad.
Food was fantastic and service was good too. Always a joy coming to Georgetown.
The atmosphere and spirit at Clydes is welcoming and cheerful. The food was excellent adn the service wat top notch with our waiters paying very close attention to my daughter's allergies .Will visit again when in Georgetown.
We ordered Ossobuco, the chef has NO idea how to cook this dish, this is the first time of a bad experience at Clydes in over twenty years !!
We love clydes in Alexandria, so we were disappointed when we came to Georgetown. Of course there is generally less space, but we came at 5pm for our 5:15 reservation and we were seated with 2 toddlers essentially in the bar, smashed behind a kiosk where there was always a server standing. It felt a little intrusive. There were some really rowdy guys at the bar who were swearing in front of the kids. There were so many other places we could have been seated— just wish the hostesses would have been a bit more sensitive to the fact that we had small kids. The food was just ok.
We were in the city for a wedding and dined at Clyde's twice. My daughter has a peanut allergy and I had found alot of testimonials of families dealing with allergies have excellent experiences here. All the food was delicious, the staff was friendly, and had a great atmosphere. We will definitely come back if we are in the city again.
Excellent service! Our waitress, Kayla, was very attentive and did a fabulous job serving our family with food allergies. Highly recommend this restaurant for anyone with food allergies, celiac, or food sensitivities. They are very accommodating.
Great food, great service, great atmosphere. I would highly recommend.
Having dined here many times, I was well acquainted with the menu, service, and ambiance. And so I knew I could look forward to a high-quality tavern experience. However, on our recent visit, I noticed a slippage in service and food selection which diminished the value I'd always relied on. The menu was more limited than I'd recalled and our server had an edge that said: "let me just get this night over with." As for the meal itself... the salad, salmon and crab cakes were all good but not deserving of $125 bill. I'd probably give the restaurant another shot, but burgers would be the plat du jour.
We have brunch at Clyde's about twice a month because the food and the service are always great!
We always love a visit to Clyde’s! It’s always good. Very dependable and moderately priced
Recommended as a must visit for the chili and it did not disappoint. Our server steered us in the right direction with the crab cake sandwich and the sliders as well. Pub-style restaurant perfect for all ages.
It was the perfect Xmas Eve dinner evening. From the stunning nutcrackers in the doorway, to the Xmas music in the background, warm and festive ambience, wonderfully attentive wait staff, and yummy food and cocktails. It was a special evening with my dad and his wife made even more special by dining at Clydes in Georgetown. Memories together that we will cherish. Thank you ♥️🎄
There's nothing like a trip to Clyde's for a holiday lunch or special occasion. The Georgetown location is especially dressed up and lively for the December holidays. Service is attentive and first rate. Recently, we gathered for a family meal which was, start to finish, just great. Try any of their soups, salads, sandwiches or specials. Each dish is prepared with care. Thanks Clyde's for delivering a special family meal, just in time for Christmas.
The food was awesome, our waiter was great, we sat by the fireplace and there were singers that sang 2 Christmas songs. Perfect night!!
Nice restaurant with good atmosphere. Food is fine but not outstanding.
Crowded Sunday. So it was loud. I Wasn’t shocked. The waffle was good. I should have had a burger. Lol. Hubby had pancakes. He liked his. We both didn’t love our meat side. My bacon too fatty and not crisp enough for me. Hubby sausage just ok. Server got very busy at end of meal and she took a long time to get our payment processed. Way too long. Like I have grace when servers are busy but this went way long. But I love Georgetown and Clyde’s is a staple. So I’ll always go back.
Colin is an excellent barman. Great suggestion on the white wine, which paired excellently with the mussels. Clyde's changes their mussels recipe every few months, and this one was superb with garlic and some tomatoes. I finished with a tasty chicken with a salad of kale, arugula, grains, cranberries, green onions.
Fun atmosphere. Super busy when we were there. Our server recommended his favorite dishes, crab cakes and the beef pot pie, both we got and both were awesome. We will be back!
It took 40 mins to receive our meal and it was cold.
Food was great. Service was sub-standard.
As usual, Clyde's continues to serve outstanding food at reasonable prices. The beef stew was sumptuous and beautifully presented. The crispy roast chicken was uniquely prepared, and wonderfully tasty. The flagship Georgetown Cyde's has a warm and welcoming vibe and the staff are personable and attentive. Its a wonderful place to dine.
As a georgetown resident for twenty plus years Clyde’s is a local go to place. I love it. Great staff and good food. Relaxing yet fun, thank you to Clydes for the good times and many more years ahead.
It is a happening restaurant, very vibrant. The food was good and the menu is nice. Gluten free options do help. My only complaint, there are a number of tables for two which are located too close together. The adjacent diners can either be too loud or your conversation can be easily heard. In addition, getting to the close quarter seats can be difficult and my wife and are of smaller size. I would definitely recommend removing a few of the two person tables in order for guests to have ample room.
Our waiter was very personable and able to accommodate us. He checked in very often. The food came out quickly and it was a lot! It was delicious. Tight space for seating but the lighting and atmosphere was fun and relaxed while upscale. Recommend the salmon burger! I’m also not a Chardonnay fan but for $7.29 per glass I tried it and it was really good!
The food at Clyde's is always fantastic and the service is impeccable. My favorite menu item is the rice bowl, which changes seasonally. When entertaining clients I will always choose Clyde's if there's a location close by.
Too loud, and it was difficult to get our waiter’s attention!
Clyde's doesn't joke around with its food. With hearty portions and great flavor, you can easily see how this is a fave among the DC eater crowd.
