Clyde's of Georgetown
Exceptional food. Well served. Lovely environment. Well worth the price
I’ve always loved this restaurant, picked it for a family birthday dinner. When we arrived there was a crowd at the door. Apparently the reservation person dropped the ball and most of the crowd had reservations but no tables were available. There were a few people on a wait list who just walked in. I heard one of these complain about the wait, and the poor nervous young lady at the hostess stand was flustered. About 25 min into our wait beyond the reservation time, this waitlist guy and his family were seated. I asked the nervous lady what gives? And her reply, “He threatened us if his family didn’t get seated.” He did look like a Soprano lackey, so I get it on one level, but...call the police, don’t do that to all those parties with reservations patiently waiting.
Of course we were seated next to this bully, literally within inches. The food was just ok, and our server did his best under slammed conditions. Didn’t even bother to stay to see if we’d have the birthday acknowledged...Clyde’s can do much, much better than this.
Maybe we’ve become too old and sophisticated, or perhaps they now cater to folks who prefer brand and location over ambiance and quality, but this was an unexpected dud of a meal. Inattentive service, overcooked seafood and a noise level that rivals a Midway Carnival, I cannot call this a good experience on any level but the tolerant guests we invited to join us. Too many other options in Georgetown to waste a repeat.
Went for the Lobster special and enjoyed the 1/2 price bottle of wine on a Sunday evening.
Great menu, excellent service and food. Kitchen was a bit slow this time.
Great for a special date and the place feels homey
Great burgers and crab cakes. Super service!
Everything was very good except the service. Our waiter was playing "rock. scissors. paper" with a colleague for several minutes while we waited for our drinks which we saw were prepared and waiting on the bar. I finally had to go over and interrupt his game to ask him to bring our drinks over. Would expect higher level of professionalism from servers especially in the middle of a fully seated Saturday afternoon crowd.
Clyde's is well laid-out, open and airy. We were seated a little early, which was great!, and greeted by our waitor promptly. The food was very good. The only problem was that it was so noisy! We struggled to hear each other talk during our meal, so we left sooner than we normally would have. It was a Saturday at lunchtime, so there's not much that could be done about that.
Usually Clyde’s is great but the last few times at the Georgetown location has been disappointing. Our waiter this time was slow and forgetful and sometimes borderline rude. The food was luke warm. The lobster special is a good value but it was barely warm. Bread was good after asking for it twice. I’ll go to Clyde’s again but not the Georgetown one for awhile. They seem really off their game.
Food, drinks and service were all great!!
Great evening and fabulous food!
We had a wonderful waiter. Thank you
Clydes is always reliable. The service was great and they were able to accommodate a picky eater in our group. Love the crab cakes!
Delivers exactly right. Food delicious. Service is friendly and helpful. A little noisy
The waiter was very snooty. The restaurant was very loud. The food was ok. I would not go back to Clydes.
The steak was really tough. Although we did not even want them to, the took it off the check. The waitress was good and everyone friendly.
Loved it! First time at Clyde’s but it won’t be our last.
Great mussels appetizer, great crab cake, nice place
Food and service was amazing! It was lively and seemed like the place to be for a Friday night dinner whether you are a tourist or local. All the service was above and beyond excellent! The food was fantastic! We'll definitely visit Clyde's again next time we're in town!
Busy on a Friday night but they brought our food out very quickly! We both ordered the beyond meat burger and it was delicious
I have always recommended Clyde's of Georgetown. And I recommend it. I have always loved the experience. However, it seems many things have changed recently.... and it concerns me. The menu is now printed, and with a much shorter list of options (the meatloaf is gone!). Someone told me that the menu is identical to other restaurants (is this becoming a mass restaurant?). The youth, attentive waiters, and the spectacular balancing acts when serving dishes, are gone. Something really changed. Please, be careful with your restaurant. We love it, and we want to keep on loving it. Keep it unique...
The pork chop was one of the best we’ve ever had. Coming from NYC this is tough to beat. Service outstanding, hard to believe you’re in a “pub”. Appetizers were great and ambiance was just what we wanted in Georgetown. If visiting again, we’d make this a stop.
WONDERFUL food, stylishly presented with great service.
Great food, great atmosphere, all around great restaurant! Great for families too!
Consistency good food, very good service and interesting menu!
Great food and service!
Cldye's is always fun and very reliable but this was a bit of a weird experience. They apparently were having some condensation issues with their air conditioner. My guest and I had to move to another table. So much water was dropping we thought there was a leak in the roof. It was fine after that.
Good food, pub like atmosphere, a little loud but not overwhelming.
We waited over 20 min each time we ordered a beverage from the bar. The food was OK our waitress was amazing but the bar service was horrible.
Excellent restaurant in the heart of Georgetown
The Lobster and the Lobster pie was awesome!
We had an excellent meal with a great server. They also had a nice selection of craft beer on tap.
Clyde's had better days. Today they could not hit the right spot.
Good evening treat.
Beautiful, reliable, food and service. Request the aviation room. Fun space. Gets very busy. Fun Georgetown location. Reservations are extremely recommended
Our server Kayla was so pleasant and recommended great dishes for my boyfriend and me! Loved my visit to Clyde's!
Great dinner. Food was good.
Reliably good food that's reasonably priced and served by friendly and attentive staff - what more do you need?
We also enjoy Clyde's--regardless of the location. However, it's very frustrating when you don't get credit for the visit. This has happened at Clyde's more than any other restaurant we visit.
Clyde’s is usually consist and it was busy but the service was very slow.
