Clyde's of Georgetown
Seated quickly. Wine bottles are ½ off on Sundays. Fun place to celebrate my son’s acceptance to grad school at Georgetown Univwrsity.
I love the way Matt help us with the menu. The only thing they mess up my husband breakfast but Matt was on board to make it right.
Great Georgetown spot. Whole family loved!
The food was not that good. The crab cake was small and had little taste. My steak salad did not have enough blue cheese and only 1 ring of carmelized onion.
Overall good. Food was delicious and promptly served. Our server however was busy, seemed to be limited staff for late lunch time (3pm). We waited some time for drinks and had to ask 3 times for refills! We were also initially seated at a table towards the end of the entry side where it was incredibly noisy with plate and silverware clearing, so much so we asked to be moved. The waitress was incredibly nice about accommodating our request and moved us to another area of the restaurant. We were lucky the restaurant was quiet to allow this but I would imagine if later that evening our choice would have have been to put up with the noise or leave for somewhere else. Perhaps a door to help alleviate the noise?
It was amazing !!
Very allergy aware and excellent food.
The person who checked us in needs more training. But everything else was very good and our table service was outstanding.
We were there for weekend brunch. Food was terrific. Filling, tasty and creative (yet still reminds you of your standards you love. Restaurant is busy so get your reservation and go early.
Great menu with attentive professional service.
Great experience, 110% recommend
Would have loved to have lobster on the menu! The crab cake was first rate; the steak in the steak frites a bit dry.
Our Server Bailey was wonderful! Drinks were great and food was wonderful
The server had an attitude the whole time. It seemed like he did not want to serve us. He never asked if we wanted bread. When serving my friend her coffee, he dropped it off and walked away before he asked if she wanted cream or sugar. Was not a good dining experience at all.
Fun atmosphere was immediately seated.
Crab cakes were very good and so was cauliflower. Loved the Angelina Chardonnay which was reasonably priced
Server was awful..
We kept asking to order but finally 30 minutes in she put the order in
Kitchen was slow
So we didn’t eat for over an hour of being seated ...tables around us who were seated after us were finishing before we were even served!
Were with children so that put a bad dent, all of the waiting, in the day.
My food was served cold.
The manager gave me a new meal and, without us asking, didn’t charge us for my meal.
I just wish she’d been our server!
This restaurant does not have sparkling water. Disappointing.
Food was really good, especially the cheese platter. It was very busy and they were very accomodating when our Uber got us there almost 15 minutes late. I would definitely go again.
Sitting was extremely tight, meal had bacon after requesting “NO BACON” .
The food was excellent - would recommend the bread pudding for dessert. The service was helpful
Always one of my go-to’s when I’m in Washington DC. Clyde’s never disappoints.
Terrible service. Start to end. 3 hours for dinner and mostly waiting. Steak was flavorless though prepared fine. Just not good cut of meat or high quality. Nice ambiance but terribly noisy. Not fun loud but irritatingly noisy. Was prepared to pay a lot but for $300 for 4 people I would expect a better experience.
This is a classic bar. Okay--it's a joint to put it pejoratively. It was loud and full of obnoxious screaming patrons, yearning to be heard. It's almost impossible to carry on a normal conversation. That being said, the crab cake was good and the French fries were properly crisp.
We dined with food allergies and they did a great job helping us manage them and keep it safe!
Hair in the food. My meal was brought out 15 minutes after everyone else. Server hardly came by. They were out of the turkey club- how in the world do you run out of ingredients for a turkey club? Very poor experience. Over priced. And hair in food. Disgusting.
Good food and good service! Portions were large so a very filling lunch.
Clyde's was a perfect place to celebrate our daughter's 50th birthday with brunch last Sunday. We had a very quiet booth, a warm and helpful server, and delicious food. We'll return.
Our server (Matt) was awesome; he was so personable and attentive. The food was delicious! We will happily return next time we are in D.C.
Great food at a great price. While the restaurant appears small it has ample seating space. We did find that the room where we were seated was fairly cold.
Food quality at this location is consistently good and I never leave hungry. My waiter was outstanding. The issue here is always the crowding and noise.
The wait was really long for a food which we (2 people) didn’t understand because groups of 4-5 were getting their food quicker than us when they sat down much later. The food was good but the wait for our food was unexpected especially after seeing multiple people get food before us.
We love this restaurant!! Lovely staff & excellent food!!
Dining experience was fine but the hostess failed to record us as there so we got an email from opentable asking why we missed our reservation. Frustrating waste of my time
I was taking my daughter out to a nice dinner the evening before I was leaving to fly home. What should have been a nice evening turned into a disaster. Our waiter didn’t make eye contact with us for the first 15 minutes. When I waved at him he came over and said, “yeah, I’m your sever but I’m checking on all my other tables then I’ll be back.” I said “ok but could you please send over some water and bread.” He eventually came to take our drink order and we asked again for bread & water. We finally got water but bread didn’t come for another 10-15 minutes. Our reservation was at 8:15 and at 9:35 we hadn’t gotten any food. Finally at 9:45 I canceled my meal and we took my daughters to go. Bottom line...neither of us ate. Very disappointing.
Everything was wonderful!!
I would recommend the hostess check in be reviewed. I was waiting for the hostess meanwhile people walked in and got seated. Then another patron claimed she was my party of 4 and was seated at the table meant for us! Almost didn't stay for dinner I was so mad. A 6:30 reservation on a Wednesday night.
Excellent food and service !
Menu was great but the food was just ok. We were expecting a different style of restaurant not knowing this was a chain. Everything was good for a china restaurant.
Service was very weak. Place was not very busy at 6pm on a Monday night. Appetizers came at the same time as our food. Calamari was uber fried and tasteless. Scallops were cold as were other items on plate, steak ordered med-well was rare and item orders sans tomato (due to allergy) had tomato. Never got to order wine with dinner as food was so rushed. We skipped dessert and went to Baked and Wired for cupcakes - best part of the meal!
We loved Clyde’s & look forward to returning in the future. The ambiance was great! This place had all the quaint neighborhood restaurant feels with excellent food & service!
