Excellent time with the in-laws. Food was absolutely amazing as always.
server was awful, only saw her twice the entire time there, once to take drink orders which arrived after the meal came and second to deliver the check. Manager and food runners took our order and delivered the food, which was fine.
Apps werr great. Had chilli and crab dip. Decided on the burger and it wasn't the best. It was cooked as request but the meat wasn't seasoned very well at all. If i go back i will stay away from the burger. Staff was friendly and we didn't have to wait past our reservation time.
Birthday Date..💛🎉...I made an open table reservation a week ahead of time for a weeknight...I wanted to surprise my special man, after a day of Museum touring (and we live about 2 hours out of the area)...and given we love Clyde’s Willow Creek (from previous travel) I had to try this location for our celebration ...they accommodated everything I asked for via open table and even additions of a birthday cake surprise that I requested... we had a quiet romantic table upstairs in the corner. Our service was superior and being indecisive and talking with our server, everyyyy recommendation was spot on with our taste...from wine selection, Salad, entree and a fabulous surprise dessert...what a special memory dining there...loved it!!
Clyde's is a Washington institution. They offer great food and service. The crabcakes are very good.
All I can say is that everything was up to and above standard. I will be back. Great job
Went for a quick meal before a wizards game. We ordered the roast pork sandwich and a french dip. Both were very well made. Only complaint is that it is very noisy between the bar and the stereo speakers. If you want to hear your dinner guests then maybe sit up stairs.
I go for every home Capitals game and am never disappointed. Great food and fast service. Love it!
Great menu, food & service. Great place before a game at Capital One Arena.
Clyde's is a reliable DC institution that I've enjoyed for more that 40 years and it never disappoints.
Went for brunch on a Sunday morning. The restaurant was not overly crowded but we had painfully slow service. Drinks came slow, waitress forgot about our appetizer order. This seems to be the norm unless you sit at the bar. Food was fine (except the Parmesan cauliflower which is delish), nothing special. Building has great architectural features.
The food was great. The service was not. It was a very busy Saturday night.
Clyde's is a large restaurant with plenty of atmosphere. Large paintings grace the walls. The food is very good and not too overpriced for DC. The service was quite good, almost too fast.
My friend and I ate here the other day and we had a wonderful time. The waitress was so nice and pleasant and even made some nice small talk to us. When I had a question about the menu, the waitress answered as best as she could and was very polite. I had a grilled salmon entrée with Maryland crab soup which was just delicious. My friend had a pork dish that he enjoyed. We had a wonderful time. We'll be back again soon.
Wonderful decor and ambiance, mixed with great food and service led to an outstanding experience!
My drink and burger both were delicious. However, our server, Liz G., was OUTSTANDING! She was so pleasant, prompt, and never intrusive. The next time I dine at Clyde's, I will ask to be seated specifically in Liz G's section. She's a great person!
Great! We went twice during the A10 tournament and enjoyed everything both times.
Great decor and convenient location. Great food!
Food food. Service not so much.
Must have been short handed. Couple parties going on. At least they realized and comped drink and desserts.
Great service. Knowledgeable waitress, accommodating. Food was tasty and good. Large portions, reasonable prices. Good value. We would definitely go again.
I love Clyde's but this is probably my last trip there. My friend and I were given a booth with a table so large we could barely get in the seat - coupled with an overflowing table cloth that nearly got pulled off in our attempts to enter and exit the booth. We felt like we were reclining in the awkward position our bodies were forced into. This isn't the first time I've had this problem its a shame that such a wonderful meal had to be eaten in physical discomfort. Probably would have been fine if I'd been 20 pounds lighter and several inches taller, but I'm not.
It was 'just ok'. The service was fair; the waiter brought us the wrong appetizer and was sparse while we were there.
Had an excellent business lunch and the service was exceptional by Franklin
We've been to Clydes a number of times, and we haven't had a bad meal. They have a nice menu, ranging from sandwiches/burgers to dinners. They also offer a number of vegetarian options. The prices are reasonably good considering the quality of the food, the unique ambiance and the fact that you're in the middle of Washington, DC.
On this visit, we had the butternut squash ravioli, salmon, and a creative acorn squash (vegan) dish. Everything was excellent.
My only negative comment was that the service was just ok. It took us 10 minutes to be greeted by a waiter (after we flagged him down). We saw bread on another table, but we needed to ask if they had bread available. The dinner itself also took a while (perhaps about 30 minutes) to get served despite the fact that it wan't particularly full at around 9 p.m. in the evening.
Overall, it was a very good, and we look forward to another visit.
Excellent food and service
Clyde’s is known to have great food but our food was mushy and bland. I cannot explain my disappointment in this location. Our service was terrible even though the server only had one other table and the food took too long and was bad when it finally got to our table. What was supposed to be a lovely brunch turned into a disappointing experience.
Slightly stuffy atmosphere with food that felt like a glorified red lobster.
Elvis was a great server! Management responded very quickly to a meal problem.
Excellent brunch options at a decent price! Server was excellent.
VERY DISAPPOINTING. The other Clyde's restaurants are very good, which is why this was such a surprise. The service was painful! We waited 30 min for someone to come take our order. And when someone finally came over, they gave us attitude for being annoyed. The food was mediocre, at best. Burger was overdone, and the salmon with lentils had no flavor other than fishy. No apologies were given. I will never return to this place.
The restaurant is very nice and food is great. Been there several times before, but this experience was not as nice due to the seating. My son and I were put in an extremely awkward and borderline uncomfortable seating situation. The location of the table was unacceptable, but luckily my son is small and accepting so we made it work. This may have just been a one off situation, but unfortunately others will eventually experience this. Had I not been on a tight schedule I would not have accepted such a poor situation.
Attitude from staff from the first moment. Food was mediocre, but not overpriced. No ability to change anything about an entre. Everything, "comes that way." (from where, Sysco?)
Fish and Chips were not crispy here like most people prefer. The fish was soggy. I suggest ordering other items on the menu. The other guests at my table enjoyed their food very much. This is the first Clyde’s entree I have not enjoyed, having eaten at 5 of the venues.
Food was pretty good, service was lackluster.
Great. Nice service. Very polite
Great food. Able to accommodate a large party.
Everything was fine but there was a kid’s birthday party and was very noisy. We couldn’t move since there were no servers in other room. The party should have been moved
We wanted to grab a quick brunch at Clydes before a Verizon Center event at 12pm. Ended up grabbing seats at the bar (I told the host- we were there early but our reservation wasn't until 1115am). The service was awful. They open at 11am, which means the staff should be ready to go at that time (esp when they know there is an event next door at 12pm so there's a line of people waiting to get in at 11). They only had 1 bartender, who was very slow to take any orders, and was purposefully avoiding eye contact with this customers, who were all waiting for drinks, food, water, anything. Ultimately, after almost 20 minutes, the manager took our drink order- and he made a good bloody mary. The second bloody mary (made by the bartender) was undrinkable it was so bad. We frequently stop at Clydes before or after basketball games, but i think we'll find a new pre-game brunch spot from now on.
We were seated right on time and our order was taken quickly. Our server was very gracious and couldn't do enough. The Blackened Bay Blue Catfish with the jambalaya and andouille sausage was perfectly done but could have used just a tad more spice. On the other hand, my husband's shrimp fra diavolo just about burned his mouth off and could have used a little less hot pepper. We didnt fnd the February menu very interesting in general and hopefully March will add some new items on the dinner menu. We are booked to return on our next trip to DC.
Great food and service, very friendly staff, and beautiful place
