After many years, still my favorite restaurant in the city. It's my go-to for everything from date night to business lunch meetings!

Service was great and the food was amazing. Seems like a great place to meet for drinks before or after a hockey game as well.

Food is a little better than average however service was poor to say the least. We waited 10-15 min with no water or bread until our waitress finally greeted us. We then saw her 2 times after that the entire night. One to tell us she put in our order wrong, 5 min after we had already gotten our food. And then when she gave us the check. We did not get one refill on our drinks, so were parched and never received bread, but the table behind us who was seated after (same waitress) received a pitcher of water and bread. There are much better places to dine in DC.

Had dinner here with my 11-year-old daughter before a recent Wizards game. Excellent food in a relaxed, classy atmosphere. Service was quick and efficient, ensuring that we made tip-off, even with dessert and coffee. Both my daughter and I really liked our meals. While the crab cakes were delicious, $31 for the entrée was a tad steep. But this was a terrific experience, and we can't wait to come back again!

We had a lunch there with 2 friends from out of town. Great location next to metro. Great food (cat fish , crab cake and squash). Will go there again.

We were at Clydes before a Capitals game in the Capital One Arena next door. There was a large crowd at the downstairs bar and they seated us upstairs where it was quieter. The service was efficient and friendly. The food was very good. While we re eating, a large group came in and filled the aisle next to our table while they were checking in to an event. Management came over to apologize and comped our drinks for the inconvenience. we really appreciated the gesture, even though we were not really bothered by the situation.

I fine at Clyde's for all of the CAPS games, however, the current menu does not have a good variety to choose from as have previous menus. Please bring back the hanger steak salad and trout parmesan.

The food was fabulous but the service was not Clyde's worthy. Our waiter was good and friendly but not very attentive. It tool forever to get our drinks and he didn't come back by often enough to refill them. My meal came out considerably after my dinner date's. That should have never happened. Also, a manager of some sort kept walking a circuit around the rooms yet never once acknowledged us, asked how our meals were, were we happy. This Clyde's is a far cry from the other ones. On a positive note, it is right beside the Capital One Arena where we went afterwards for a Caps game.

My friend complimented me on my choice of venue - great place for a quiet chat amongst friends, but good atmosphere and old fashioned service. Great wine recommendation. One criticism - the food was rather salty.

Service was superb; food was bland and pork schnitzel had to be sent back because it was absolutely tasteless. Since everyone else was almost finished just substituted it for chicken fingers which were also bland. Others did enjoy their fish and chips and a salmon dinner; flatbreads were a little dry but - as I said, service was excellent as was the wine !

We were in D.C. in the freezing cold from Georgia and hating every second of our business trip (dealing with any Embassy is not fun) and our Airbnb owner suggested Cyldes. I needed a beautiful dinner to eat delectable food with impeccable service. Clydes was right on the money. The space is gorgeous and the food exactly what we wanted. Lovely! We will be back next time we are in D.C. later this month. LOVE CLYDES!

I would never spend any money in this establishment. I had a reservation for 7pm before the Wizards game. I was seated 20 minutes late. The server refused to check on our food or refill out glasses of watwr. I had to complain to management just get the food. The order was still wrong and the food wasn't good anyways. Complete waste of time.

this was definitely an off-night. Food was good, but service was terribly slow and inattentive, had to practically grab the waiter to get his attention. Not normal for Clyde's, which typically brings food pretty quickly, they must have been short-staffed

One of my favorite restaurants downtown ... and there are PLENTY of restaurants. The value can't be beat -- the food is delicious, the atmosphere unbeatable and the price is so affordable - this is my default go-to restaurant. It is also superb for conversation dining - comfortable and spacious private booths in a lush environment without superficial noise (like TVs). Always a delightful experience dining at Clydes Gallery Place.

The food was pretty good and the service was decent. The only problem was the drinks. After I told our waitress that I didn’t like my first drink she kindly allowed me to exchange it for a Bloody Mary. The Bloody Mary was worse! Completely flavorless and poorly mixed.

We visited for my friend's birthday before going to the Wizards game on Saturday evening. I put in the reservation that it was my friends birthday and was asked by the hostess whose birthday it is and asked that they sing - she said they can do that. The waiter made no mention of my friend's birthday when we were finishing our meals and he dropped off the check. I apologized to my friend when we were leaving that there was no celebration, she was disappointed, but what are you going to do when you have to ask a waiter several times for something and don't have time to wait around any further. Overall, it was just a disappointing dinner.

Reservations were for 6:00 and we were seated at 6:00. Because the food was alittle late in getting to us because of a party, our server gave us a complimentary cup of chili which was totally uncesary but really appreciated.

What happened to this place?
Eaten here multiple times in past years - all were very good experiences. This time: prices higher, food not so good, small drinks. Crab cakes were bland, lettuce leaf on top was a joke.

Clyde’s is one of the busiest downtown restaurants and for good reason. First and foremost, the seafood specializes are flavorful and fresh. I can’t get enough of the blackened fish sandwich. The portion sizes make it easy to share.

Server was too busy to give us good service. My son ordered spaghetti & meatballs and we had to ask 3 times for bread. His $18 meal went cold in the 30 minutes we waited for bread. He did eat his meal, but it was not how he wanted to eat it. Drinks were not filled either. Id rather spend my money elsewhere with better service.
