Fabulous experience! Outstanding food, great service, wonderful atmosphere!
We were here for my mothers birthday, and we requested a seat in the observatory. There was no one working that room at the time, but they got someone to take care of us anyway, and she was the sweetest person ever! Made us feel so taken care of and made my mom feel special on her birthday with a lit candle in her dessert. I love this place!
Great and very accommodating!
It was my birthday, I requested to be seated in the atrium, we were blessed to be the only ones seated in the atrium.
I felt like I had a private party.
The service was great, the food was excellent, we had a ball!!! My day was great in spite of it being a cloudy day outside.
The food was wonderful! The service wasn’t the best not that it was bad but the food and atmosphere made up for it for or first trip to DC.
Very good food (we had seafood and steaks). They were accommodating with our early arrival minus a party member. There was a large crowd due to a nearby event ending, and it was pretty loud. Our server was friendly and effective, but the crowd meant it took quite a while to get attention. Still a lovely meal.
Very nice staff! Very accommodating and the room was absolutely beautiful. Highly recommend
Great food and service! Just be sure not to reserve a table an hour before a Capital play-off game.
A great way to get an excellent meal and share the experience with friends and family before catching a game at Capital One Arena. Service was great, the food was plentiful and hot, the atmosphere was relaxed.
Family was in town and we went to Clydes in Gallery Place for brunch and it was really great. Service was excellent - that perfect mix of being attentive but not overbearing. The food was delicious. A couple of us had the smoked salmon scramble - one thought it was a little heavy on cream cheese but otherwise good. The other person loved it. Shrimp and grits - a big hit as was the blackened catfish sandwich. My aunt tried the ravioli (asparagus?) and thought the sauce was too heavy. But overall it was a great dining experience and we will be back.
The steaks were dry and tasteless. Even the sides were tired and boring. Doubt I'll ever go back.
Very upscale setting with a down-to-earth approach. Excellent food and superb staff: very enjoyable experience!
We got seated almost right away even though we were early. We had to wait a bit for a server but it was good after that. The food was excellent.
Great food and a great staff making the night filling for our stomachs and laughs.
Always a good experience once past the front desk. Service and food (crab cake and Reuben sandwiches) were excellent—we sat and talked long after we finished our meal and the server was very accommodating. The guy at the front desk seemed to have an attitude. He told the first two guests that he couldn’t find the reservation. Then when I checked later to make sure I was credited with the Open Table reservation, he seemed annoyed and said they only receive about one of every four Open Table reservations.
This is now my favorite Clyde's location. The service and ambiance was phenomenal!
Way, way overpriced for rhe quality of food. Crab cakes were mediocre at best and creme brulee was substandard. Pleasant staff and good service
The restaurant was probably a little 'energetic' for the business dinner we planned, but we were able to hear each other and not feel that other diners were too close. The food was amazing. We had oysters on the half shell and calamari to start ... both exceptional. Then, two of us had the crab cakes and the other steak. Everyone was pleased with the entree selections. It was a game night at the Verizon Center, so getting into and out of the restaurant was a little challenging, but - overall - the experience was a good one.
so, I go upstairs and give my name for the reservation. 2 parties came after me and gave there name and had later reservations. So yeah I was TOTALLY forgotten about and they were seated before me. Don’t know if I’ll be back
The street performers out front were so loud that we didn’t enjoy the dining experience like I had hoped we would.
Very average food for the price. Excellent service though!
Yes. We go to Clydes before every Home CAPS game...it is a great way to prepare for another CAPS win!
We were late and unable to call, but they still honored our reservation despite the Caps game crowd. Catfish entree was great. Service was quick and efficient - and unlike most pre-game experiences I’ve had - the kitchen was quick. A great experience.
Busy night before a hockey game, crowded and very load. Usually love Clydes, but this was far below standards. French dip was just awful and service and attitude of waiter was not good.
We met here for lunch on a Saturday. Service was great. Our server was very attentive. He explained specials, asked about allergies, accommodated special requests, and kept the beverage glasses full. Food was good. Price is good for the Washington DC area. Very convenient location near a Metro stop. Definitely will eat here again.
The food was very good and the price was fair, but what i really enjoyed was the service. I cant speak about all the waiters there, but the waiter I had was the most amazing I have had in my life. Not only was he friendly and funny, but he played with our banter. He wasn't afraid of being confronted with odd questions or being placed in an improvisational position and genuinely improved my experience. He was extremely courteous and even shook my hand before leaving. I would definitely recommend going there, if only on the chance that you get this man to serve you. My only regret is that I did not get his name or take a photo with him.
Came there while on vacation. Had a great meal, with an attentive and friendly server. Will recommend it to anyone visiting DC
Unfortunately our waiter “forgot” (his words, not mine) about us.
Vegetable Curry really good, steak was prepared perfectly. Dining area on main floor was loud.
An excellent meal with a great ambiance. Beautiful wood paneled room and quiet enough to talk, but fun enough to feel like a night out. A great experience.
The lamb is wonderful. Tender and delectable. the variety of menu choices are great,!
This was my second visit to Clyde's, but first for dinner. Both times were business meeting lunch and dinner. I am from out of town and don't have access to super fresh seafood. I absolutely love their crab cakes. And the portions including the fries and slaw were huge. The service was tremendous, and our waiter really took care of my party of 3.
Loved this place! We did not leave one scrap of food on the table!!!!
Really nice place for a group. Good menu options and food came out quickly. Our server was a bit slow, maybe needed some supervision (or help). Overall a good value that should please.
Service ok, not great; bar waiter did not cancel restaurant reservation as promised when we decided to just eat in the bar; wife's Cosmo was not good
We were looking for a nice steak meal after MSU's victory over Duke at the Capital One arena. We first had drinks with friends at La Tasca, then after they headed back to their hotel, we noticed Clyde's across the street. After a quick check on OpenTable, we decided to give it a try...and are we glad we did. The place was huge, had at least 3 bars and many different dining areas. We had a table upstairs, where the ambiance was very nice. My filet was perfect, my wife said her NY strip was amazing, the sides were good, and the Cab we ordered was very good and reasonably priced. I later found Clyde's is a small DC-area chain which I wouldn't have guessed. Only wish they had some locations near our home town!
Our waiter never refilled out water. I ordered an extra side that was to be shared and I thought that was clear but instead he subbed it so I didn’t get my full entrée. He took a long time to cash it out. It was not that busy. And I told him I wanted my lamb cooked medium rare, but he told the chef medium well. It came out tough and had a toothpick thing in it that said “med well” on it.
Ther service, atmosphere, and menu variety was just great! Our experience was very positive and I will definetly be back!
In town for the Sweet 16 NCAA East Regional finals. Our server was excellent, her name was Janet and she hustled all night. The place was packed, but her service was outstanding!
