Meet with friends
My tenth St. Paddy’s day at Clyde’s. My daughter and I had a wonderful Irish inspired lunch, including the yummy corned beef egg rolls and shepherd’s pie, and as always, my buttons got me a free Guinness! Slainte!
My friends and I went to Clydes for dinner on March 15th. One of my friends had the Shepherd's Pie. My other friend had the corned beef dish. I had the salmon with potatoes and carrots. All our dishes were delicious and ample amount of food. Our server was fantastic. She was very attentive and pleasant. My friends and I look forward to our next visit!
Dinner was good. Everyone liked there dinner except me. I had the crab cakes and was a little disappointed in the flavor.
Great place! Service and food was terrific! Clyde’s has always been a favorite!
The waitress said the pork dish would be prepared medium to well done per the chef. That was fine with me. However, the pork came out UNDERDONE. The waitress the manager recognized this and apologized. The manager comp'ed me a soup. When the same piece of pork came back out, it was overdone and tough. I'll go back to Clyde's but never ordering pork again.
Pleasant but slow service, salmon in salmon salad over cooked and cold, asked for lemons multiple times for salmon; not delivered till after meal finished. Additionally, coffee cake not nearly as good as it used to be. Called in advance to mention special occasion birthday; employee came to table when seated saying "I heard we have a birthday here", thereby exposing the "surprise". Disappointing experience.
Service was rude and slow. we felt being rush out.

I made a reservation for my family and I to have brunch at Clyde's on Sunday 3/1/18. I made the reservation that morning and when we got there the place was pretty empty. The server came promptly and we were not ready to order and told her so. It took a long time for her to return. When she did we ordered bloody Mary's and they were the worst we have ever had. Tons of black pepper I mean that covered an inch on the bottom of the glass. Then a huge celery stalk that wasn't even cut just broken off was shoved into the glass as garnish. My coffee was never refilled. My husband ordered potatoes and we had to ask for them and he was halfway done with his breakfast before they came. The food was mediocre and overpriced. The location is lovely right on the lake but I won't be back.
We had a great time and a wonderful waitress. The food and service were excellent.
Our server was amazing. She handled our large group smoothly. Not a small task as we needed separate checks and also some folks had food allergies.
Good food with excellent, attentive service.
Clyde's is a classic restaurant that you can always depend on. I liked being able to get a half salad as an appetizer. We all had seafood - crab cake, salmon, rockfish - which was very good. Also, appreciated the option to order one crab cake. The hot bread was a nice treat. Excellent and very friendly service. We celebrated my son's birthday and it was his choice to go there which turned out very well.
I don't live near Columbia so I hadn't been to Clyde's in years, but it was just as nice as I remembered it. Perfect meeting place with my friend that lives in Bethesda.
Great view of lake outside. Food was good, however, brunch menu has very limited selection. Suggests more choices.
Had a group of 5 people. Drinks were great, everyone loved what they ordered. The food was delicious. I had cream of crab soup and a cheeseburger with a side salad. Cheeseburger cooked perfectly. Some of us would havw ordered a 2nd drink but our server did not really check on us much. She seemed tired and was not in a great mood. I was celebrating 3 years cancer free and she was not that excited.
Service was excellent. A little more noisy that what I would have liked, but that's maybe because it was a little earlier and there were several families.
It was a bit cold in the restaurant for my comfort
The seating was great. The Shrimp and grits were sublime. Joe, our waiter was the best server ever. Kudos! We will definitely be back. Clyde’s is a hidden gem!
Nice for lunch in a scenic setting. Good choices from salads, sandwiches and more hearty main dishes. Consistently good service.
Food was just ok. Service was good.
Rueben was soggy and the corn beef was chewy. Very disappointing since I have had good Rueben's in the past. The waiter missed our comments that we couldn't eat onions and garlic. When we pointed out that the Brussels sprouts had pearl onions in it, he was apologetic. When we asked if there was garlic in it he insisted we never mentioned it. He said we never mentioned the garlic concerns later on in the meal in what we felt was an accusing manner. 10 minutes later we got replacement Brussel sprouts which were cold on the inside. Which by that time the salmon was also cold. Gave up on the meal and took it home.
I had my birthday dinner here and the experience was everything I hoped for. The waitstaff was accommodating and friendly. The food was really good and the atmosphere was lovely
We chose the restaurant because it was equidistant for us and friends who live 90 minutes from us. We've been to other restaurants in the Clydes group so thought it would work well. The biggest issue - and not something that I can rank in Open Table - is that the restaurant is not friendly to disabled patrons. It is not possible to drop someone off at the door - it is quite a walk from the parking lot to the restaurant, and the staff was not helpful with suggestions at all when I called! I am lucky to be only temporarily disabled but was shocked that Clydes did not - and is not required by regulation - to provide better access for disabled patrons. I had falafel - it was just OK. Fries were ice cold. Others in our group were happy with their meals. Loved our table location - just to the right of the hostess area and behind a frosted glass privacy window/screen. We felt like we were in our own little world - with only one other table in our section. Highly recommend requesting this area for a group of 4. Not sure I will go there again - definitely not before I'm walking better!
We went there for a birthday meal for one of my sons before going to a nearby movie theater. I made a 1:45 reservation on a Saturday. I was surprised that we could not order off of the main menu as I've done numerous times before as we use Clyde's quite often when we take out of town business associates when they visit our office here in Columbia. The lunch menu was very limited. My two sons ordered the Cuban sandwich, I ordered the cheeseburger, and my wife ordered the crab cake sandwich. The Cuban was not grilled like they are supposed to be and the top half of my bun on the cheeseburger was very dry and hard; however the beef used was extraordinary. My wife was satisfied with her crab cake but it was very small compared to my previous experiences with their very good crab cakes. All in all it was rather disappointing and if this is the new standard for their lunch menu we will not be going there again.
Food is not as good as other clydes but not terrible. Great view and location though!
Not good. We made a reservation for 730, was seated and for 20 mins we were never acknowledged for drinks or ordering. Waitress never showed up to pour water. So we got up and left.
Seated at small table against partial wall that felt confining even though minimally busy at time of reservation. Waiter was trying to be helpful but his attention felt intrusive. Food better than expected.
I've been coming to Clyde's since the 80's. I am a fan, their bartenders are great! The staff is awesome and the farm to table philosophy is high on my list!
The food, drinks and service were all outstanding.
Had a very tasty lunch. Service was excellent. Atmosphere was pleasant and quiet so we could have a nice long conversation.
Disappointing visit to Clyde's. Service very slow. Had to ask for pre-meal bread but it did not arrive until our appetizers was served. We had Cod, Rockfish and Pork Chop. All good but nothing to brag about. Just felt overall quality decreased since our last visit in the Fall, 2017
We keep returning because the food is good, the restaurant is comfortable and generally we can hear each other talk.
Very good meal. The service started out good but slowed at the end of the meal.
Great location overlooking the lake. Wonderful poster art adorns the walls. Lovely Nouveau decor. Interesting menu options.
Very enjoyable evening. Sat at the bar first, where the bartenders were indifferent. However, the service for dinner was exceptional and the food was very good as well. Will go back but skip the bar scene.
Seated right away for our reservation. Took a little bit to receive our drinks. Dinner came out promptly. Everyone seem to enjoy their meals.
Have always enjoyed the food here. But not on Valentines Day. We arrived at 5:00 with reservations to an almost empty restaurant that was full by the time we left. Waitress was the only good thing that night. Hostess was rude. Cream of crab soup was watery not creamy with a few tiny pieces of crab meat. Crab cake was small and the unadvertised side of a small amount of slaw with potato sticks on top was completely unappetizing. Pork Chop was good, but the sides again were not. Coconut Rum Mojito mostly tasted of watery. A very disappointing night for a very pricey dinner. We unfortunately won't be returning unless we hear something changes in the kitchen.
