Continues to be the place in Columbia that we like to visit for a meal.

The group was made up of 1958 graduates of DC's Spingarn High School. Only negative was eggnog bread pudding: not a hint of eggnog flavor; bread pudding was very stiff, had no raisins, was so-so. Seating was good. Tables weren't ready, but a very generous offering of a calamari appetizer was provided, and very much appreciated.

Clyde's of Columbia is one of Columbia's "go to" places, especially for a business lunch. The menu is good, the quality is consistent and the noise level does not prohibit having a conversation.

Clyde's is always reliable and this visit was no different. The menu is broad and the service is kind and prompt.

The ambiance was lovely, Christmas decorations looked great. the only thing missing from our meal was the service. Our server was very pleasant but forgot several items that we ordered.

The food, as I expected, was excellent. The service however left a lot to be desired. After we were seated, we were left sitting there for quite some time without any attention from our server who continually walked past our table. We finally had to get the attention of the hostess to even get water brought to the table. Everyone around us was being served and we continued to be ignored at least 10-15 minutes after being seated when the restaurant was not even busy. When the server finally came over, she whispered the softest apology ever. The food is the only reason I rated this visit good but due to the service we received I would not come back to this location.

I've dined at this location for dinner many times and am usually satisfied. We decided to have a business lunch here and the food was disappointing. The crab cake looked nothing like the fluffy crab cake that they serve at their Tower Oaks location. It arrived flat and not a lot of flavor. Two of us had the apple pie for dessert. It came out cold and the apples were not soft and felt like you were eating an uncooked apple. The service was decent but nothing special. For a restaurant like Clyde's, you would think that they would go above and beyond. The service at their Tower Oaks location is much better as is the quality of the food.

Really overpriced for what you get.
This was a moderate/average experience.
Doesn't qualify to compete with high end restaurants.

Went to Clyde's for a Christmas Lunch Celebration, the food was great as was the selection - I was really impressed that they asked about food allergies for the table and was extremely happy that they offered gluten free options. Our waiter was attentive and our food arrived promptly and was delicious. The view is nice and relaxing. Would definitely recommend and will be coming back -

It had been awhile since I’d been to Clyde’s of Columbia. I was a little hesitant after reading about poor service. Last night, on a busy pre-holiday night I had an excellent experience. The hostess was very accommodating to our table change request for a water view. She apologized for the time it took to clear and set a table. Did I mention it was busy and I requested the disruptive change? No apology needed! Our waiter Tim D was helpful, patient with a food allergy at the table, checked on us regularly, accommodated other out of the ordinary requests, and did not rush us as we chatted and chatted and chatted holding his table. Thanks Tim D!

Would not accommodate a 5 person seating in the library with our preferred waiter. Additionally, it was difficult to get a table for 5 by the window. The Maitre'd pushed for a booth which we did not want. A drink was forgotten, the waiter wasn't sure if the kitchen had scallops for appetizers. Each course during the evening was slow coming our of the kitchen. We asked for desert to go because of the delays.

We entertained out of state guests. The lobster special was a hit, as were the meatball and empanada appetizers.

Service was terrible- had to constantly ask for drinks, nones of the empty cups or appetizer plates were taken off the table. Crab cakes served without remolaude sauce.

The food is consistently great! We had the crab cakes and lobster tail and pumpkin creme brûlée.

We really enjoy the atmosphere, wine selection and can count on having a good meal every time.

With our sons away this year, and finding ourselves alone for the holiday, my wife and I had a wonderful Thanksgiving dinner at Clydes’s of Columbia.

At loose ends with our spouses off with relatives, a friend and I met at Clyde's on Thanksgiving. They had a special menu, but fortunately, there were plenty of options besides the "Thanksgiving Dinner" special. We sat at the bar, three "starters," one entree, and a couple of extra sides. It was just the thing.

And the staff, working on Thanksgiving - were just wonderful. Every one of them, starting and ending with the hostess' stand. (Thanks again.)

We were at Clydes for Thanksgiving. The price point was great for the amount of food we received. The only negative was that the turkey was cut extremely thick and was very fatty. So fatty and thick that my 13 year old son choked on it. The service was great, but it took so long to get our dessert that we ended up taking it to go. Overall, our experience was good and we would definitely go back, but probably not for Thanksgiving.

Had a great Thanksgiving dinner at Clyde's. The Roast Turkey entree was succulent, a great variety, and ample. The dessert was so-so, which was the only drawback. Our waiter, Tim, was the best waiter - friendly, helpful, great suggestions, excellent service. Will definitely return!

The attention and service were very good. We had a kind, understanding and very accommodating waiter, however, the food was mediocre at best. If you are looking for a place to hang out and enjoy a glass of wine, then this place is fine. If you want to enjoy your food, then you need to look elsewhere.

Clyde's is very busy, even for a late afternoon lunch. I was not very impressed with my Falafel burger, the flavor was lacking. My husband had the bison burger which he enjoyed. For our sides, he go the house salad which was delicious and I got the side of fresh fruit which was an underwhelming combination of a few red grapes, cantaloupe, pineapple and tons of pomegranate seeds. The salad would have been a much better choice.

We started our meal with a perfect gin and tonic. We both ordered the special lobster dinner that is running through November. It was excellent!! It tasted just like Maine lobster should taste...fresh and salty from the sea. It comes with great French fries and Cole slaw. For $18.99 you can’t beat it!

Our dinner with friends at Clyde's was outstanding, as usual. We used Open Table to get a reservation just when we wanted and were seated immediately. With a new menu from our last dinner there, I was tempted by the lobster shepherd's pie, which was superb, and full of lobster meat. My dinner companions chose all different menu items, from sandwiches to pasta to meatloaf, and all were very pleased. For appetizers, the cream of crab soup was outstanding, as was the chili. All in all, we were very pleased - and will be back.

I had not been to a Clyde's in years. Friends were in from Michigan and we were looking for a place to book a table for 11 after the Maryland game. I knew from experience that Clyde's is a good place for a group, so we booked. Service was great, food was wonderful, and the staff accommodating. We had a great time and shared a lot of memories.
