Clyde's of Columbia Ratings and Reviews
Have always enjoyed the food here. But not on Valentines Day. We arrived at 5:00 with reservations to an almost empty restaurant that was full by the time we left. Waitress was the only good thing that night. Hostess was rude. Cream of crab soup was watery not creamy with a few tiny pieces of crab meat. Crab cake was small and the unadvertised side of a small amount of slaw with potato sticks on top was completely unappetizing. Pork Chop was good, but the sides again were not. Coconut Rum Mojito mostly tasted of watery. A very disappointing night for a very pricey dinner. We unfortunately won't be returning unless we hear something changes in the kitchen.
We have been frequenting Clyde's for years and have noticed much change there the last year or so. Service, food, and pricing are just disappointing ,and more should be expected of Clyde's. Clyde's has a lovely location on the lake, but we will be choosing other establishments in the future. Please make the necessary changes to keep your place in our area!
Great brunch! Met an old friend and had a lot to catch up on. Was able to have good conversation with low noise level. The menu had some of our favorite food that was cooked perfectly. The oyster stew was wonderful along with the smoked salmon and egg dish. Will definitely be going back.
This was my first time here for brunch, and I came for a family reunion with my sister, her kids, and our dad/Grandpa.
The service was great. Unfortunately, the food was disappointing.
The Huevos Rancheros was covered in sausage grease, excessive cheese, was missing sour cream, and was very salty. The omelets tasted like the eggs were from one of those pre-made egg beater mixes. They did not come with toast, and the fries that we subbed in, came with very few. The plate looked pretty bare bones.
I will not be returning for brunch anytime soon.
What a happy discovery! Fabulous meal with impeccable service. All is us were wowed. The menu has a nice variety to accommodate many palates. From the appetizers to the desserts everything was presented with care. The bacon wrapped scallops are a must-have! And the brownie sundae is big enough to share...but I didn’t! Enjoy a lovely evening at Clyde’s.
I had written on my online reservation that we were celebrating two birthdays that night and was disappointed that nothing was done to celebrate this occasion. I thought atleast a piece of cake or some acknowledgement would have been nice! Besides that, everything was perfect!
My bill was higher than expected, and I was disappointed that the trio of hummus offerings disappeared from the menu. But it's still a great place to meet friends for lunch, and there is plenty of free parking. It's also open on Mondays, which is another plus.
The server was outstanding! His willingness to help people figure out the bill, and his accuracy was a crowd pleaser. He served correctly! The personality and smile were a welcome pleasantry for the nine seniors at the table. He exhibited patience and respect.
The food was creative and quite good. I like the view of the lake, too.
VERY loud in this restaurant. The portions were generous, but the taste of the food could be better. It feels more like a corporate atmosphere rather than a restaurant. They constantly have people walking around with iPads checking to see how far along you are with your meal so they can turn your table over. They stop at each table, look up & down entering in information. super annoying. Unless someone treated me, I wouldn’t go back to Clyde’s.
Really enjoyed the food choices, and the waiter was very attentive and accommodating. We overstayed our welcome by several hours, and was never rushed to leave or made to feel uncomfortable. Admittedly, however, the food was a little less than I expected, BUT, NOT BECAUSE IT WAS NOT WELL MADE, but because of my personal preferences. Overall, a lovely meal and experience.
Recently at Clyde’s for a girls’ lunch, which I organized. I was the only repeat customer. The other 3 ladies were impressed with the nice atmosphere, the menu selections and the great service from the wait staff. We were there for 3 hours and never felt rushed at all. Our waiter was attentive without being pushy. The food was delicious also. I think you gained some new customers.
We went to enjoy a night out for my birthday and had a great time there. The server was very friendly and offered a free desert for my birthday. As we were about to leave, the manager stopped by and brought a refund for a order that was sent back. Very good management and the food was delicious.
We are regulars at this location... the service was off on this particular visit. Just did not have that usual Clyde's professionalism. Server stood right behind me and had an extended conversation with another individual before even taking our drink order... did not check in with us during the meal. Like I said... not up to Clyde's standards
My wife and I like Clydes in general for its ambiance and good eats. However, our experience on this occasion was par. The window seat was drafty, though we asked to be seated by the window for the view outside. The pastrami sandwich was on thin bread which was overwhelmed by the meat and kraut and sauce. The meat wasn't as tender as I anticipated. However, my wife's rockfish was very good. I felt I was often searching for our waitress. Service and food is usually good but for some reason this was not its night. Maybe next time...
It was cold and the waiter with whom we were NOT overall happy noticed our wearing our coats while seated, said he would have the thermostat made highter - never did. The same waiter had a difficult time getting to our table - asked to refill our coke glasses, never did. The food came on time. THe mussels, while fresh were mixed with chic peas and the sauce was forgettable. The French onion soup was good. The cod was tasteful as was the lemon broccoli but the mashed potatoes was a scoop of a lump of potatoes with no taste. Since I had leftovers, I added salt and garlic powder for eating the leftovers at home.
