Clyde's of Columbia
We arrive and we’re immediately seated. It was a very pleasant experience. Food and ambiance was great
Valentine’s Day with my boo! Food was delicious the jumbo crab cake is a must!!!!
Clydes of Columbia continues to be a reliable destination for a special event or regular weekly dining opportunity. The hostess was disappointing but this was more than made up for by an outstanding server and a top-notch manager who responded to our issue about the hostess. Food and service were, as always, excellent and cost was moderate.
We have been dining at Clydes in Columbia for 38 years. The food is delicious and reliable. Service can be spotty but usually good. This week was good. We had a lovely Valentines Day dinner.
Perfect Valentine's Day Dinner! The food was excellent asalaways.
We always love Clydes. The food is always delicious and our server was great.

great neighborhood feel. attentive bartenders. great food !
Consistency is elusive
We like the ambiance of Clyde's, and sometimes love its food. Over the years, an inconsistency has crept in with respect to the food. On Saturday, I had the Beef Stew, which used to be a favorite when in season. This was the 3rd time in recent months, and each time the dish had deteriorated. This last time, it was more like a soup, with soggy mashed. Tasty, but not what it ought to have been. The last time, it looked as if it had sat for a while, and was dried out. First time, it was great. My dining partner had the scallops and raved about them. Fresh, and tasty. So, a tie.......One excellent meal, one not so great.
Atmosphere was nice. Nice view at the lake. The food was very good. The service was excellent. Making reservations was very easy.
Great dining experience. Our server was excellent to match the food.
I asked the server to put a candle on my friend’s dessert who is having a birthday but they did not do that, and service wasn’t great
Server tailored our timing and experience perfectly.
Took advantage of the Restaurant Week menu which gave us an ample amount of food and a taste of Clyde’s. Very enjoyable experience food, service and atmosphere were excellent.
Great food and attentive, curteous service.
The only thing great about our visit to Clyde’s in Columbia was our outstanding waiter. The restaurant smelled very musty. The food was overly salty. I have been to several Clyde’s restaurants in the DC area and this location was not of the same caliber. I do not think I will visit this location again.
We arrived for out appointment - mentioned that our other colleague was on her way and that there would be three of us. Then we asked to be seated by window - and person proceeded to seat us behind a post - and we had to mention that we could not see the lake/water . . . she moved us.
Then - when our colleague arrived - and EVEN THOUGH SHE HAD THE RESERVATION # with her, they said that we had not arrived. Fortunately we had seen her outside the window - walking by the lake and knew she was there. After a bit, she called us - because we had texted her and told her we were already there. So - my husband left the table to go and get her.
Finally - my eggs benedict (egg whites of the poached eggs) were so poorly cooked that we sent them back and we waited and waited and waited . . . the other two people at my table almost finished dinner before we finally 'cornered' the waiter - to have him go back to kitchen to get my food. When food FINALLY came back - the eggs were cold and the plate was very hot - like it had set on the stove - but had not been 'recooked'. Manager did not charge us for that plate - as waiter called manager. Also - restrooms were not as clean as they should be.
I always find any of the Clyde's to be top notch and a good value. Nice atmosphere and high quality food and service. A local treasure.
Ordered a drink before my meal. The drink came out followed by my salad a few minutes later. No time to enjoy my drink. A few minutes later, my meal came out. In front of me was my drink, my salad, and my dinner. By the time I finished my drink, and eat my salad, the meal was cold. The waiter apologized and said he would make it up with a desert. Not that I wanted the desert, but it was never offered after the plates were cleared. Seemed like a "rushed" dinner. There were six of us and maybe they needed to quickly turn over the table...Not a good relaxing, enjoyable dinner!!
Unfortunately our experience wasn’t good at all. It was my wife’s birthday and our reservation was for 6:15 PM. We arrived at least 15 to 20 mins early. I informed the hostess we had a reservation for two. One of the hostesses stated they currently we’re seating 5:30 and 6:00pm reservations first. My wife and I took a seat. We observed guests with no reservations being seated before us. Once we brought that to the attention of the hostess, instantly they find seating for us. If that wasn’t bad enough they wanted to squeeze us between two parties. We weren’t happy and requested another table. It was a better table but at this point we left. The customer service was awful and the place wasn’t very clean or impressive to say the least .
Clydes has the smallest crab cake in Maryland for $19.99 ... the house Chardonnay is excellent, a Rutherford wine from Napa CA...nice location on Lake Kitamakundi...
Overall it was a positive experience. We came to celebrate my husband’s 38th bday during HoCo restaurant week.
Great food and great service! I would absolutely recommend Clydes of Columbia.
Great restaurant. We were seated next to the emergency door. It was drafty and cold. Both myself and my husband kept our coats on. Everything else was top notch.
Zucchini crisps were good but greasy, house salad was good. salmon dinner was dry and didn't care too much for mushroom medley, crab cakes were fine, brownie ice-cream sundae was very good. I had always liked their chili and reuben but I don't eat meat anymore. I was disappointed they didn't make a vegetarian chili or a seafood reuben.
Greeting by staff was exceptional. Loved waiter when he asked about food allergies ! Exceptional cuisine and service was fantastic! Will be back.
A perfect evening out. Service was exceptional. Crab cake perfect. Loved the apple crisp too.
We had a great time. Great service, great food, great price!
Went for Sunday brunch. Service was very good but the food was not worth the charge. Breakfast potatoes were saturated in oil and soggy. Turkey sausage was over cooked and dry. Not worth $15.
Great dining experience, excellent food and service. Live music venue next door for after dinner.
The ambiance was very nice ! I ordered clydes Cabernet wine which was very smooth . I also order the steak frites which was OK. I have had better steak for the same price other places. The service was good though.
Love this restaurant!! Excellent, start to finish!!
Service was great, however, food was just okay on this visit. My Fish & Chips were not fully cooked and came with soft uncooked batter. The chips were fine.
As for the balance of the food, I believe all was okay and satisfactory. It’s been a while since I’ve visited this Clyde’s; I found the service friendly and attentive and because of this, I will give it another try down the road.
Request an intimate table on the reservation. The accommodation was perfection.
Thank you Clyde’s
Had an amazing meal like always!
Had a reservation and were seated quickly. Food and drinks were very good. Attentive service
Everything was delicious! Staff were all very very kind.
Great food and service. I don’t care for the tight, too close seating to people beside you.
