Clyde's of Columbia
We had a nice time.
Emma our server was lovely! It was a perfect place to meet friends!
No matter how busy Clyde's gets on a Saturday evening they always honor our reservation. Our server was very pleasant and since we've dined here so many times, we knew what we wanted as soon as we sat down. When our appetizers arrived my onion soup was missing. The waiter apologized and said it would take another 4 minutes but by that time the rest of our meal arrived so I asked that the soup be put in a "to go" container and I took it home. The turkey Reuben, corned beef Reuben and 2 burgers were excellent. The hand cut fries seemed to taste even better than usual but no one could figure out why. We chose not to get dessert since we were so full. Clyde's is our favorite place for great food, great servers, and a very pleasant atmosphere. Plus free parking is always easy in a nearby garage.
Fantastic!! Best seafood in Columbia!!
Had a wonderful evening with great food and excellent wait service!
Always a great choice for lunch. Good food, nice views, pleasant staff.
SO disappointed. We always loved Clyde's in Rockville and we were going to be driving through Columbia so this seemed like a perfect way to celebrate my husband's birthday. What a mistake! The service was slow and the food was mediocre at best. Our waitress was so unpleasant. She gave us the feeling like we were not welcome. Every request was treated like such a hardship from drink refills to getting our check. We will NOT be back and I do not recommend this Clyde's.
Not rushed great waiter. Food choices could be more. Love that view! Nice experience
Our family went to Clyde’s for Sunday brunch and 2 of the 3 meals left much to be desired. One order was requested without beans; despite the waitress repeating the requested omission, if arrived with beans. That dish had to be redone, causing it to come 10-15 min after the other dishes and causing the diner to sit hungry. Additionally, the sausage accompanying an order of pancakes was cold— it had clearly been cooked quite some time before. That was sent back and caused another delay. The waitress was apologetic, at least. I don’t see any need to go back here as there are plenty of other consistently good restaurants in the area.
Excellent service and a well received meal by everyone in our party.
Overall, the service was good, although our food took a bit of time. It was the usual Clydes fare (I.e., burgers, crab cakes, crab dip, salads, fish and steak—and to my surprise there were no specials). My biggest complaint is that the bartender was unable to prepare a simple cosmopolitan or lemon drop. The nice thing about this Clydes is that you can see the lovely pond outside the window. To sum things up, it was a relaxing weekend meal with a great friend.
At lunchtime restaurant was not noisy.
I took my boyfriend and his family gl celebrate his birthday. The restaurant was very nice and comfortable. The staff was pleasant and service was good. I had the salmón, which was cooked perfectly and delicious! The only complaints were that there was not enough dressing on the Reuben sandwich or sauce on the buffalo chicken sandwich. The créeme brûlée was OUTSTANDING, creamy deliciousness!!!
I have enjoyed Clyde's of Columbia for years. Every dish that i have eaten have been enjoyable from the simple cheeseburger to the crab cakes. The food is perfectly seasoned so that you are not overpowered by salt or other seasonings. Whenever I have a visitor to Columbia, I always bring them to Clyde's. The location on Lake Kittamaquandi really shows a beautiful and historical side of Columbia, MD. The wait staff is very attentive and sensitive to allowing conversations during a meal. I would and have recommended Clyde's of Columbia to anyone visiting Columbia, MD.
Great casual dining!
The food was fairly over priced and the best service we got was at the bar area. The staff was clearly overwhelmed with an 18 person reservation that took over the whole restaurant while several other fairly large groups were also trying to check in. It resulted in my group getting pushed to the side and waiting even longer when we also had a reservation. One member of my group ordered the filet Mignon rare and was disappointed that it was cooked through even more than my medium steak. For the price, the food just wasn't that great. The wait staff was nice though and the interior of the restaurant is clean and well decorated.
Super accommodating to food allergies. Awesome wait staff.
Nate was an excellent server. He was energetic and accommodating. Food was delicious.
At lunchtime on a Tuesday, Clydes’ wasn’t crowded, so it was quiet and a great place to reconnect. The food selection was excellent, both in the choice and quality of ingredients and in preparation. Great salad, bread, and starter of fried zucchini slices. Together with a view of the lake, it was a pleasure.
Service is great here and the food, in the past, has been generally reliable. Not this trip. Was here at Sunday brunch. Had an omelet that seemed to be made from liquid eggs. Very tasteless despite onions and spinach. Fried potatoes soggy. Very unsatisfactory meal. Companion received the wrong and more expensive meal and after a complaint the dish was comped although she just didn’t want to be charged the extra. Service is very good.
In the last 2 months I’ve eaten at the Columbia Clyde’s 3 times and each time had poor service. On one occasion the food ordered was not what we received and the spinach I ordered was so salty I sent it back.
We were there for lobster month and we loved it all lobster and salad and fries The manager was fabulous making sure we had our drinks on time and dinners in a timely manner She made our evening which I was meeting friends closer to both of us I am not sure if her name but I have never had such great service at Clydes like we did We will be back
The food and service from the waiter was very good, a very nice presentation. the down side was the trip to the restroom the hallway there was smelling of stagnate waste water and rotting food and the hand dryers are defining.
Nice birthday lunch for a friend. Serve was terrific
Not a good dining experience. Food was poorly seasoned and quite disappointing. They are my favorite items which I eat regularly when at Clyde's. French Onion Soup was bland and lukewarm. Catfish had NO seasoning at all and the greens were barely cooked. Had to return my sisters crabcake because of a very strong ammonia taste. Her burger replacement was well prepared.
This the last time I would ever come here. It was my wife's birthday so I wrote a note to them saying it is her birthday please try and make it special please no one read my note or they read it and ignored it. Our waiter forgot to give us bread and napkins I had to remind him 2 time about that. When my food came out I ordered the pasta bolognese and it was very small like for a small child they finally got me the right size. So I reminded the waiter hey it's my wife b day can bring out something with a candle he said sure it will be free I said ok and my son reminded him also that it is her birthday so when the desert came out no candle no nothing I'm looking at the waiter like you going to do something I got nothing he brings the bill out not only did I get no candle or anything he charged me for the desert when I asked him about the birthday he said oh I forgot. This is crazy I will never come here again!!!!
Had a wonderful evening out for the lobster specials and 1/2 price wine on Monday. It was a quiet evening-very nice. Recommend the crab and artichoke dip. The lobster shepherd's pie was flavorful and had plenty of chunks of lobster. The whole lobster was very tender and sweet! We look forward to this special every year. David E. our server was efficient, pleasant and friendly. We will return.
Our server, Ra, was great! We enjoyed our time at Clyde's as we always do. The food was excellent!
This was our first poor experience at Clyde's, which was quite a surprise to us. The waiter was slow, did not bring out the bread basket until we asked, never asked if we needed drink refills, and didn't check to see if our food was satisfactory. The food itself was "just ok" this time around...the menu seemed uninspired. One of the people in our party had ordered the shrimp and grits in the past and loved them, but this time, he said that they were almost too spicy to eat. The crab cake had too many shells, and for some reason, the server included a bib and bowl with the lobster pot pie even though the lobster was already shelled. We used to love Clyde's and always had an excellent dining experience, but this time around was very disappointing. Not worth the price!
Clyde's is a great brand... I'm not sure why they have decided to neglect the Columbia location. Even with a supposed update, it still looks like an upscale Fridays. That is very, very sad for Howard County and with all the money they make here and overall, they should do better by us!
Always a wonderful experience and delicious meals
I was very unimpressed with service and food.
I always enjoy going to Clyde’s in Columbia but this visit was especially enjoyable. My crab cake was especially good today. Maybe they have a new recipe but it was clearly the best crab cake I have had anywhere in a while. Four of us had Sunday brunch. We ordered one appetizer, two cocktails, four main courses, two desserts and four coffees. We split the bill between two couples and it was quite reasonable. Everyone enjoyed their entrees. The desserts were also delicious. Our waiter could have been slightly more attentive but we were glad to not be overly bothered too so it was fine. I recommend Clyde’s in Columbia!
Excellent service and great food. I've dined here several times and haven't been disappointed.
Good place to eat. Would not recommend one of the cheese they had on cheese plate. Very hard to eat and rubbery. Our server was awesome.
We have always loved coming here, sadly this particular night everything was off. Drinks came out not correctly made, waitress messed up our appetizer order- NOTE management made it right immediately. Ordered hanger steak with Bearnaise sauce. We were not informed until after the three of us received our dishes, and asked about the the absence of the sauce, that the menu had been changed and that the steak no longer came with Bearnaise sauce just an herb butter. Honestly, I wouldn't have ordered the steak knowing this.
Great mesl, super helpful server, Sean.
Large selection dinner items snd a nice wine list
Great staff but the food was not great. I had a falafel sandwich which was really bad. The salmon salad looked good but I didn’t have that
The restaurant is a little run down
The meal started out fine. Second course was cold and tasteless. At the same time, our waiter seemed to disappear. Quite disappointing.
