We made reservations for 8pm yet waited for a table in a 1/2 empty restaurant behind 4 other parties. We were seated aside a table of 12 noisy 13 year old girls who’s parents were seated far away in a different section of the dining room. When the server approached, he knew without a conversation that we should be moved due to the extreme noise level and reseated is in a closed section of the dining room. He was supposed to clock out but couldn’t find another server to help us so he stayed. The manager walked by our booth several times but made no eye contact. The food was delicious, our server was great, but the management of that shift was terrible. Perhaps the manager was under cost pressure to make his numbers for the month. Clyde’s should be careful about this. Even great food can’t rescue an experience like ours.

Stay away from the lobster. Appetizers arrived after entrees. Server comped drinks which was greatly appreciated.
Train wasn’t running — always A highlight and disappointing when it’s dark.

Better than last time but service a bit slow. Tower Oaks Clyde's still the best all around.

Always dependable for lunch or dinner. Part of the Clyde's group, but essentially our neighborhood staple. Monthly specials are always great, but where else can you get meatloaf or calf’s liver? Good old comfort food. And it’s great value for money. Also, kids, big and small, love to watch the train run around the track overhead, and the ship models are wonderful. Keep up the good work Clyde’s.

Clyde's is a reliable standby for good food in a comfortable, classy and quiet environment. They do a good job with their recipes, changing some things according to the season. The service is always good and the tables & booths are well spaced, leaving diners a good chance to talk as well as eat.

Service was extremely slow. Nearly 2 hours for brunch for two. My eggs Benedict came without sauce. Took about 15 minutes before they returned with it. By then, both eggs and sauce were cold.

We love Clyde's. Food exceptional. This time, we had a movie to catch, let the waiter know, but still things were very slow. That is our only complaint.

We sat on the left-side of the restaurant and had a fantastic waiter. I don't know his name but highly recommend him.

Also, the buffalo cauliflower appetizer is fantastic!

While service is usually quite good, we must have had someone very new and green. He'd disappear, forget to bring a requested item, etc. Another server finally took our order and a third server eventually brought our bill. Food was fine!

we used to go to Clyde's at Friendship Heights several times a week.......now we go rarely.......the menu is not as good as it used to be and the service is sometimes awful.......the other day I ordered a hamburger medium rare........the waiter agreed that it was medium ( I was not going to send it back and keep my guest waiting).......that never used to happen........I will use up my gift certificate and then call it quits with my nearby restaurant.....makes me sad.

Reliably tasty fare in a comfortable, casual, quirky, fun space, with very good service, combined with reasonable prices - makes for a very good value. Clyde's easily accommodates large and small groups.

I had requested a quiet table, and they seated us near a huge party with several loud children. We had to ask to be moved. My wine came after the salad, and I had to ask for it twice. Food and service were ok, not great.

We had a wonderful dinner at Clyde's. Both my husband & I had the Maine Lobster Special. Both of our whole steamed lobsters were perfectly cooked. We were extremely satisfied.

We also had 2 starters, wings & calamari. My husband loved the wings. He thinks they're the best in DC area. Neither of us were fond of the calamari. It may have been slightly overcooked & we would have preferred the aoili on the side for dipping rather than swizzled on top.

We ended by sharing the chocolate ganache cake which was rich & chocolatey with caramel & ice cream.

Our server was knowledgeable, friendly & very busy with a large party but still attentative.

The only other criticism is the beer list could be more interesting. This is a complaint my husband has had about Clyde's for years.

I took a German-American woman to meet a French-American woman on Monday. The former felt like she was in a European restaurant and liked it very much. I love the decorations especially the painting near the check-in desk. I had a delicious hamburger with your divine French fries. The waitress was lovely.

Lobsters were very small; tis the end of the lobster season. All in our group said the lobsters were lacking flavor??? Restaurant was almost empty and while there, the elevator broke! The Chevy Chase location is a bit "tired." So sorry......
