Used to be much better. Now is just very expensive with some weird overly spiced dishes for no reason. Waitstaff was mostly inexperienced and barely trained. Forgot orders and hard to get their attention. Quite disappointing although maybe just an off night?

The Lobster Shepherd Pie was a disaster - overcooked rubbery lobster in a soup of undercooked and woody vegetables... The salmon was overcooked as well. A plate of Rigatoni Bolognese (meat) arrived instead of the vegetarian Penne then replaced, with delay of course

Table was wet and glasses also full of drops of water when we were seated. We complained and the table was hastily cleaned up. A poor beginning to our special birthday celebration. Food was tasteless - fish, grits, potatoes. Waitress was outstanding. Appreciated PAPER boxes for carrying leftover food home rather than plastic. Like the thematic displays in Clyde’s restaurants. Please improve the food at Chevy Chase!

After coming here for years total chaos. Our party was seated separately even though I made reservation for three. Drinks shrunk under new management “new measuring” wa applied. Bus service was awful. Forgot silverware for our lobster meal we came in for especially. Something has happened to this place. Hope they recover.

I've always enjoyed Clyde's and the food is good. This time I wanted to try the fried oysters since I haven't had them for a long time. I was disappointed in their taste and in the taste of the cocktail sauce served with them. My friend had the bronzino which as usual was very good, as was the gazpacho and the key lime pie! We'll be back.

We enjoyed having a booth for the 2 of us. I wanted a mojito with some sort of berries and they had blackberries and were very accommodating about making the drink that way. Although they did not have a club sandwich on the menu, the waitress said they could certainly make one. So I got exactly what I wanted. Also excellent gazpacho. My friend had a burger which she ordered rare and it came as ordered. We could not be happier with the waitress, overall service, and food quality. Would definitely revisit and highly recommend.

The hostess and waitress were both kind, courteous and attentive! The food came out quickly, hot and was delicious! Crab cake was excellent. We lingered over dinner and felt no rush.

The BLT sandwich had nice bread and tomato. The lettuce was wilted and rubbery. The meager bacon strip was like tree bark, no taste. Fries tasty. My companion liked the crab cake sandwich very much - I usually get that and will next time.

Nobody makes a better Caesar salad. And the salmon I added was perfectly cooked. With the exception of the grouchy sourpuss at reception (she needs smile lessons) the staff were first class. Plus, you can actually carry on a conversation. I highly recommend Clyde’s.

This was our first visit to Clyde’s. The food was excellent but I have to say that the service was not as good as it should have been. We had to wait a while to have someone come to our table to take our initial drink order, our soup course was never delivered, and there were mix ups with the bill. I enjoyed my crab cake and my husband was happy with his steak but they really need to work on improving customer service.

I took my dear friend there for his birthday. Our server, Garrett, was professional, answered all our questions patiently and recommended some drinks when I wasn't sure what to order. He was very pleasant and his service was excellent. The Tequila Mockingbird (which is basically a margaritas with a slight touch of raspberry flavor) was good, as well as the Hidden Gem. I didn't like the oaxacan Sunset too much. It left an after taste... that is not very pleasant to your palates. Some people may like it, though. The appetizers (Crab Dip and Steamed Mussels) were good. As entrees, we ordered the Double Jumbo Crab Cakes (my friend loved it), and I had the rigaton with bolognese (it was too salted). The place is well decorated with racing cars and planes from the 30's, 40's, 50's and 60's. There i a train that goes around the restaurant. The ambiance was nice. Overall, my experience there was good.. I definitely recommend this restaurant to anyone who wants to enjoy good food, services and a welcoming environment.

A disappointment all around. The calamari was too thinly sliced, ribs were overcooked, the wild salmon was tasteless, the burger was overdone, and there was neither a single organic nor antibiotic free meat option.

Good overall family restaurant. A favorite with my daughter when she was growing up. I went back with a friend after 10 years and found things have changed. A simpler menu and when the bill came in an additional 3.75% was added. This was explained with apologies due to hard times during Covid. But with that one would expect some effort with food. I had fish which was very fresh but the vegetables and fingerling potatoes were a soggy overcooked mess underneath. Ambience and staff was good but what a disappointment!

We have been loyal Clyde's customers for years and are accustomed to reliably good food (especially for a diverse group) and service. But our server, Timothy, last weekend was the best ever! He was extraordinarily attentive, friendly, and helpful. We asked to switched seats (because of wet tiles), and a dish no longer on the menu but previously available. He handled these modifications without any problem. Great experience!
