Excellent, as always! We came in early afternoon, hoping to get lunch instead of brunch, BUT we were thoroughly pleased with the brunch. We will be returning with other friends for lunch and brunch.

I typically love Clyde’s, but this time, our meals were a bit one dimensional. In particular, my Steak frites came with a glob of unrecognizable and inedible greens, entirely too many fries and a barely visible herb butter dollop that looked like it had just been popped out of a plastic single serve butter container. Food took FOREVER too. I’m hoping they step up their game for our next visit.

A 'go-to' for our group of picky eaters. There's something on the menu for every diet. The food is consistently good. The service is unobtrusive but attentive. We had one minor issue on this visit but it was quickly handled by our waiter.

Another wonderful dinner at Clyde's! Always reliable for good food, beverages and convenient location. Servers were understanding of dietary allergy issues and worked with us to create a very tasty dinner for a person in our party. It was a Wednesday evening - but the place was packed. Word has gotten around. Congrats Clyde's!

We had not planned to visit this Clyde’s location again. But our visit for lunch turned out well—we ordered only an entree each and coffee/tea after. Keeping it simple, having lots of time to spare, and going at a relatively quiet time meant that we got the service we needed and it was just fine, the food was good, and the price was reasonable.

Food good, families welcome, wide ranging menu. Our main course was brought out BEFORE the appetizers, poor coordination though corrected. The bill was brought before we were asked if we wanted dessert or coffee, so we decided to pass on those and leave.

This is a great restaurant. Nice location, easy (validated garage parking) and we can always get seared calves liver - even if it doesn't appear on the menu. It's our thing!!! we know - weird - but on occasion. Nice relaxed atmosphere. We see something new we hadn't seen before - décor-wise whenever we come. Good waitstaff as well. We've been coming for years - both this one (our favorite) and the "lodge" in Rockville.

Consistently above average service and food, we were not disappointed one bit. Server extremely courteous and solicitous. Beef au jus sandwich was delicious; my friend enjoyed her fish tacos. Some noisy moments as staff deposited used utensils in nearby container. On the whole, very good.

It’s comforting to return to this bastion of DC after so many years to find things haven’t changed - even though the menu has. I’d call it an ‘old stand-by’ since the furnishings and general decor remain unchanged after 20? years, but the menu plays up seasonal strengths and has a great cocktail and wine list. Good food never goes out of fashion even if the decor does — it’s rare that something has lasted this long without making a change to suit the whims of novelty; Clyde’s is still going strong on its old formula for good, fresh and local fare made to order and delivered by very well-trained staff. I’m nostalgic for those key ingredients more and more. I’ll be back soon!

Our server was great and I wish I could remember his name! The food was only okay. One of us got the burger and that was apparently good. One got the chicken and waffles and the chicken looked very overdone but he ate it and didn’t say anything. We both got the eggs Benedict and they were surprisingly small with nothing special about them at all. The potatoes were very greasy and we actually left feeling a little hungry. And we really aren’t big eaters. The salad that came with the eggs was good, though. Next time we will go back to our regular chicken Caesar salad because that’s always good.

I was unhappy with this visit. In the reservation we asked for a QUIET, round or square table for a business meeting. When we got their, I reminded our host of the request. They needed five minutes to set up, when they walked us over, the table was long and narrow. They said we don't have any round or square tables. (wish I was told at the host station) Once we sat down, we realized we are right next to the area where they prepare the drinks, lots of clunking and rattling noises through out our lunch. Dishes and utensils being dumped causing very loud and startling noises. There were MANY other tables available they could have seated us.

My dad and I had New Year's lunch at Clyde's. The place was packed so we needed our reservation. We usually have waffles, which are excellent, but for the New Year we each tried something new. My dad had the French Dip sandwich. He loved it. I had the roasted acorn quash. It was delicious. We were stuffed. We're looking forward to our next visit.

This restaurant was one that I liked for the service and food. On this last visit I was very disappointed. When I checked in the Male host said he had to take care of another party--he would seat my party in a few minutes. After 10 minutes I spoke to the hostess. She told me my party had been seated. I told her what the Male host said. She apologized and immediately seated us. The catfish was undercooked. I did receive a new meal after a long wait. The waiter did not provide the usual attentive and cheerful service I expect at Clyde's. This restaurant is no longer my first or second choice.

We were disappointed in the level of service we received. It took what seemed like forever to get two glasses of wine. Our waiter blamed the bar(?). Two of our party asked for some vinaigrette for their meals. Our friend had to get out of his seat to get the waiter to bring it. Otherwise, the meal would have been eaten before the dressing arrived. Management needs to step up to correct these shortcomings. It shouldn’t be that difficult. We’ve always loved Clyde’s. It saddens me to experience these problems.

Always a treat to come into Clyde's, they really know how to take care of their guests. The design and layout of the restaraunt is amazing in a vintage style. Servers and hosts are superb, friendly, and exceptionally courteous. Food is always fantastic and well prepared, they always have something new every season. I look forward to my next visit to Clyde's!

It had been a while since I dined at Clyde's of Chevy Chase; six years to be exact. I was disappointed when we sat down to see french fries and dirt from the previous diners on the floor near our table. The food was not memorable and the ambiance was basic.

Favorite family restaurant for over a decade. Based on four recent visits, Clyde's/Chevy Chase has clearly gone downhill: consistently small portion sizes combined with higher prices and long waits for the food. My guess is that Clyde's is struggling to compete in an increasingly upscale area by deceptively decreasing portion sizes and increasing prices. This is a shame: for many years, Clyde's has been our "go-to" restaurant for family get-togethers and out-of-town visitors. The portion sizes in particular are so small that they have caused embarrassment several times recently, and we will need to find a viable alternative. This is a loss to us, but we can't risk another embarrassment.

We reserved a table for 6 pm and did not get seated till 6:30 pm even though other customers who came in after us and also had reservations were seated promptly. As far as the waite staff is concerned we were forgotten about all evening and had to ask for the waitress to attend to us and check on the status of our order. Typically drinks get served as soon as ordered, however those were forgotten about as well and had to remind the staff about the drinks which ultimately were served with the late dinner. I was very disappointed considering we had 2 young children with us who needed to be home and in bed by a certain time.

The menu changed and the sliders had jalapeno aioli and inside the hamburger Fresno peppers and monterey cheese. I did not notice these ingredients and ordered plain sliders. I had had plain sliders before and they were actually plain and fine for me. My chronic disease cannot tolerate spicy foods and I am careful about ordering but assumed the sliders were the same as before. This was a big mistake. After 2 bites I had a very bad reaction to the peppers and had to try to stop the burning pain and shortness of breath with a lot of water. the manager was attentive and brough me cold milk and vanilla ice cream to sooth my mouth and stomach. he also gave me a hamburger to taake home and did not chrge for what we had ordered. I had to go home and felt ill for more than 24 hours. When menu chnges, it would be helpful to make that obvious with a note in the menu..

This used to be a great place for lunch. Recently portion sizes, for salads at least, have shrunk to half their former size. Yesterday my companions salmon was overcooked, then redone and undercooked. She also asked for salad dressing on the side but it was dumped on the salad. My steak salad tasted great but the portion size was very small in comparison to past salads. The manager said serving sizes have been reduced about a month ago. So, portions are smaller -- prices are not.

Clydes at Chevy Chase used to have a nice Christmas menu and high school kids singing carols. Our family made it a tradition to eat there after Christmas Eve mass. This year was so disappointing as they did not have the special menu or anyone singing. It was just any other night. And, to top that off, the dishes we were served were not even that good - definitely a decrease in quality and overall preparation. Very disappointing.

Please bring back the menu options on Xmas eve and the special ambiance. And, please upgrade the entrees. My crabcake was so disappointing and my husband's salad was just lettuce and tomatoes - nothing special.
