Clyde's of Chevy Chase
Tuesday Night Trivia, Every Tuesday 7:00pm - 9:30pm
Tuesday Night Trivia 7-9:30 pm in the Race Bar.
It’s been a few years since our last visit so we weren’t sure what to expect. We were seated within 5 minutes of our arrival. Our waitress was very attentive. Everybody enjoyed their food. My ceasar salad with shrimp was delicious. We will be back.
A stand-by for last minute dining. Good food, good value.
Always good food and service at Clyde's (any location). I always recommend it to out-of-town visitors and regard it as my local dining standard.
Clyde's is consistently very good, moderately priced, excellent service, quiet. Food is very satisfactory.
Really enjoyed my crabcake dinner! Guests from California were also very happy with their selections. Right now, parking is a challenge though. Once construction in the area is finished, I would recommend it to anyone.
A friend was in town from Atlanta. Four of us met for an evening of catching up. The food was great, drinks good, ambience perfect. Our server was a bit cocky but no big deal. The evening was very nice.
Worst experience ever. Still waiting for the pita and hummus. Waiter did not listen to any of our order. Had to send my food back. Will never go here again. Service was horrible and it wasn’t even busy. I do not recommend you waist your money here as we did! Food was not good!! Service was horrible! I wish I complained to the manager!!
Clyde’s was empty when we arrived, so it was surprising that the hostess sat us in a booth at far end of restaurant. My 89 year old Dad moves slowly with a walker so sitting us closer to the front wouldn’t seem to be a problem.
Food was excellent. Bread took 7 minutes to arrive after we eventually were able to get our drinks and order. My daughter’s entree and mine were delivered 4 minutes before my father’s entree. The waiter apologized and offered an explanation that the order for his trout was sent late.
Clyde’s serves an older, even elderly clientele in wealthy Chevy Chase, MD. So we were somewhat disappointed in the phlegmatic service. This has never been an issue at the Clyde’s Tower Oaks Lodge.
This is one of my favorite spots. EVERYTHING is fabulous... except that the bathrooms are one floor down, but we can live with that!
Disappointed, quite. Seems things are getting somewhat sloppy.
The bread was not cut adequately, we had to wrestle to try to separate the precut slices.
Trout crust was hard, over fried-potatoes and beans were good.(Decided to take the whole thing home and do some rework on it.)
Lamb gyro was ,lets say, somewhat difficult to tackle: the "pita" was more a cold fajita was stone hard, the -admittedly good size of lamb was dry and hard, the filling had hardly any onions and meager parts of tomato. The side-Caesar salad's few croutons were stale and hard. It seemed that he single crab cake's size is getting smaller, with a corresponding increasing price, and there was an overwhelming mount of just plain corn, hardly justifying the $20.
The 2 decaf cappuccinos came late and cold, we asked the waiter to take them back. Meanwhile my reg capp was nowhere to be seen. when the decaf capps reappeared, they were cold. Finally my capp came, hot and great. We declined the cold ones and asked no charge for them, which the water complied with.
As we have been coming to Clyde's for ages, there is hope that this is not a trend of decline, just incidental -tho my Brussels sprouts at the previous visit 5/22/19 were also burned but under cooked.
The very difficult( especially for us somewhat old people ) and greatly restricted parking-admittedly can not directly be blamed on Clyde's.
Clydes in Chevy Chase always satisfies. The table servers are competent and attentive. The menu is good. Food is good. Price is ok. The electric train overhead and the sportscars below are attractions even after many visits.
Another fine meal. What do you good service.
The food at Clyde's is reliably good, and it's an excellent location for a lunch gathering. Being close to Metro is a plus!
Tyler was our waiter and he was very attentive.
The last time I was there out waiter was awful. I can't remember his name.
Love the decor, food great, good service, if you park in the parking garage, they will validate it
It is always a pleasure to enjoy consistently well-prepared food served by competent staff.
Service was slow. Food was pretty good. Noise level was high.
Pleasant birthday dinner - nice ambiance, food pretty good, but the vegetables are a bit strangely prepared for my taste. Service was fine, although we did have about 10 minutes before anyone approached our table.
the food was excellent and they helped us find a quieter seat for a better conversation-- very excellent
The service was very slow and the waiter kept getting the check wrong. The food (artichoke & crab dip) was totally blah. The lamp on our table was filthy. Overall, an extremely mediocre restaurant.
Clyde's has something for everyone -- Whether you are vegetarian, eating healthy, or want to dive into a big, juicy burger, you'll find something to pique your interest at Clydes. The wait staff is friendly, but not overbearing & our order was correct, even with multiple switches or special requests.
Terrible parking situation and has been that way for months. You really want to go there if you go right now. We won’t be back anytime soon - especially with the renovation going on. Hope it gets better soon. It is totally inconvenient now and too many good choices to go through that mess. And service was slow too. What happened to Clyde’s?
not happy that they advertise that they have gluten free options. They hardly have any options for gf guests. Salads are fair, minus the gluten foods, and no specialties like fried oysters(you can use cornmeal) are available or crab cakes--bummer. Wish they would be more creative and learn how to cook gf for everyone. Everyone can eat gf. But not everyone can eat gluten!
Very nice. We had been to other Clyde’s Restaurants and always enjoy them.
We wanted a nice place to eat before a concert. We were a bit late for our reservation, but the staff was so accommodating. The food was great and the service was excellent. The menu appealed to everyone in our party.
Very popular DC restaurant. Pleasant and casual but classy. Reasonable price. Easy to find. Validated parking.
We were in the area for a few days ar NIH and looking for a nice place to have dinner for the last night in town. Looked at the online menu and heard about the decor. Clyde's was as excellent as advertised with amazing food! Will be going back!
The service was very spotty. Our waiter, while quite earnest, repeated 4 times what we were each having and the specific changes one order needed. Then the food arrived and the changes had not been properly communicated to the kitchen so the order was wrong! The food seemed to be of the quality I remember but I won't rush back...
After an exhausting day, we happily settled into the comfortable booth and relaxed. The waitress was extremely friendly but professional, and all of our orders went through without a problem. The quality of the food was very good. Everyone enjoyed their meals and we would go back there without question.
Our waiter Dontay was awesome. Every professional and informative about everything on the menu. My colleagues were pleased with his service. We just had one issue and it was the steak salad. The steak seemed salty. The manager did come out to offer something else but my colleague didn't want to wait for anything else to come out.
Very nice family interface, Great learning waitress as well as her support.
Helped me with my walker which is new and dynamic looking.
Made the 3 of us very comfortable.
Food was pretty good, however not outstanding. Atmosphere nice, relaxing and comfortable.
Service was slow, not timed well. Drinks not refilled timely. Asked for bread, never received it. Wanted dessert, but by the time our waitress reappeared we were done with the experience.
This was not unique to our table, as I saw other diners experiencing he same issues. Would not return.
The food is always good at Clyde's. Always fresh. The service was excellent.
Our reservation was at Noon; restaurant was busy but not hectic; we were seated in a quiet alcove near the front; service excellent -- attentive but not overbearing -- one of us asked if an omelette could be prepared (not on menu) and the staff asked and the chef was happy to do so. A very nice meal enjoyed with minimum noise. Five stars.
The breakfast was okay but the service was awful! Our waiter did not bring bread plates, coffee or the coffe cakes. When coffee did arrive it was like mud. He could not even figure out how to split the check
What is happening
Part of my grandsons DC burger tour. BEST burger in DC, rated after eating at seven different restaurants. Way to go Clyde's.
Going down hill w/food & service
This restaurant has all the makings of a great neighborhood joint, but they just can't get the service right. Either you never see your server or your server won't leave you alone. The hostess staff is awful, very snooty. It doesn't take much to offer people a nice dining experience, but the staff here seems to go out of their way to be unfriendly. The one time we worked up the nerve to complain, the manager was simply annoyed that we were bothering him.
Since it was Father’s Day, the restaurant was bustling to almost full capacity. Nonetheless, Miguel provided outstanding service and was extremely kind. Food preparation seemed a tad hasty though the taste was very good.
