Clyde's at Mark Center
I bought the Chesapeake Bennie which was scrumptious. The Bourbon Chocolate Chip Bread Pudding was also a delight.
Always great service and outstanding food!
Great food and service.
It is always refreshing and it why my girlfriends and I always meet up here. Thanks.
The food here has always been phenomenal, but this location has kept their service world class over the years (we have been revisiting thus location for more than 17yrs). If you are lucky enough to get Peter as your server, he is 2nd to none.
Food and service were both great. I will definitely return.
Very good. Our waiter was excellent.
It was great!
A reliably good meal, in a good atmosphere with good prices.
Our waitress was amazing and the food was great as usual!
We love spending time here and will dine here again!
Clyde's has been my favorite restaurant in the area for 40+ years. It consistently delivers a wonderful meal at a fair price with great service and ambiance. I am glad the tt the change in ownership has not outwardly affected this DMV mainstay.
Food good, atmosphere good, service sucked
Our server, Ian, was outstanding!
We normally eat at Mike's or Grand Carlyle but wanted to try Clydes as we have frequent business at the Mark Center. While the entire staff was very nice. service was fairly slow (took 5-10 minutes to get coffee) and we were also served a very small bread portion which we didn't need or request.
Birthday for a friend. Food was very good.
Abiney the waiter was provided excellent service . She helped with menu, was polite and recommended great choices
Crab cakes - excellent
Clam chowder- excellent
Scallops- fresh and tasty
Hangar steak- cooked perfect paired with Parmesan fries and arugula salad
Carrot cake- delicious with a hint of cinnamon
House made cream- excellent
You know you will always have excellent service and meal at Clyde’s.
I am a return guest during my visits to the Alexandria area for business. The food is always wonderful and good value. The wait staff provide top notch performance and our party enjoyed our dinner.
Service was very slow this night. Food was basically good.
Birthday Brunch for my brother. Brunch was very nice. The food was excellent and the atmosphere was warm.
Pete was great
As always, very good food, professional service, enjoyable atmosphere, excellent value. They know how to do fish very well, and don't miss the oysters.
We had such a delightful birthday celebration for a very dear friend of mine, along with my husband and mother! The clam chowder my husband had was amazzzzzing! My mother loved the roasted duck breast and my friend and I had the most delicious steak frites ever! Cooked to perfection medium rare!!!!! Very fun evening!!!
Always happy at Clyde’s. Meal comes as ordered and made as expected. We eat here about 1 time per month and always enjoy. Wife says best crab cakes around
Always great food and service at Clydes!
Lovely lunch—wonderful fresh oysters, and delicious spinach salads topped with shrimp. Delightful birthday lunch for four!
Food and service is always outstanding at any Clyde's restaurant. The ambiance at Mark Center is one of my favorite - quiet and cozy.
I have to confess that the Chesapeake Room is my least favorite of the imaginatively decorated and themed rooms at Clydes Mark Center, mostly because it's where most of the large groups wind up, and they tend to be noisy in a room that is already noisier than the others. During our visit, this was only exacerbated by the fact that the music was turned up high enough that diners had to compete with it to be heard. As a result, the room was just plain noisy, which subtracted considerably from the dining experience.
The food and the service were just what we always expect at Clydes -- delicious/inventive and attentive/pleasant. If we could eat exclusively in the Newport Room or the Adirondack Room, our dining experience would be straight fives every time -- these rooms tend to be quieter and usually don't have big groups increasing the noise level.
I have to confess that the menu selections seem to be getting fewer over the last couple years, and the general service has changed in some noticeable ways -- the iced water pitchers have been replaced by room-temperature water bottles, for example. The variety of menu options seems clearly smaller.
All in all, we plan to continue coming to Clydes at Mark Center, but we will endeavor to get quieter seating in the future, and review the menu online before making the reservation to make sure the options reflect our interests.
Bottom line: 4 overall, 5 on food quality and service, 4 on selection, and 3 on noise.
Clyde's did not disappoint as far as service and the quality of the food. Food was prepared well, except the almost raw vegetables. I have to tell you that the menu at all of the Clyde's is getting so far "modern" that it is hard to find something to eat. The entrees are ok, but the accompaniments are more exotic and not to my likes. I hate to say it, but it will be a while before I dine at Clyde's again.
I love the decor of this place, a fly fishing theme with beautiful paintings and objects! And the food and service were great. I was here on Valentines Day with my wife and conversation was easy as the noise level was low.
The only thing I noted on this visit, in February, was the temperature of the particular dining room I was in was cold.
Overall though, I would highly recommend this restaurant.
Just OK. Small table, slow service, average food. Waiter in training came to our table 3 or 4 times with food for other customers! Slow learner!
While the waitress was very friendly, the service was
Great food, but service was slow for a fairly quiet Sunday night. Always enjoy going to this Clyde's, plenty of parking and easy location.
First time at this location! Loved the ambiance and the service was absolutely amazing! Will definitely be back!!
I'm never disappointed. It's one of my go to placed.
The service was adequate as was the restaurant's ambiance. That said, no one in my party was pleased with the food. Two of us had Eggs Benedict. Both were overdone, the English muffins "tough" and the hollandaise sauce way too thick. The home fries were unremarkable. The third in our party had chicken and waffles. Both the chicken and waffles were over sweet and much was left on the plate. Overall, our dining experience was disappointing.
Go there frequently for lunch and the brunch on Sunday,
I have not visited this location in a long while but fondly remember the family dinners we had there and recalled that the food was very good.
Therefore, was excited to return for restaurant week and was disappointed in the lack of flavor in my choices;
I had ordered the mussels as a starter, the swordfish as entree and the creme brulee for dessert.
The mussels were under flavored (especially the broth) and a little undercooked in my opinion.
The sauce mixture with the favero was too heavy although the fish was nicely cooked but again not much flavor. The creme brulee was okay but lacking in flavor as well.
I would try again in near future but was disappointed in the food on this trip.
Our visit to Clyde's at Mark Center was for restaurant week. We were please with the entire meal and the size of the portions. I ordered the mussels for an appetizer and was shocked at how many were included. Likewise my pork schnitzel was a large portion too so I had plenty to take home. We especially liked the dining room with the duck hunting decor. It was quiet and made conversation easy.
Happy hour not to be missed, the oysters were great, Main meals and the soup were fantastic. Highly recommend making Clyde’s a part of your new routine.
