About this restaurant

  • Great for brunch
  • Innovative
  • Good for special occasions
Clydebuilt Bar & Kitchen is conveniently located at the Front Entrance of the SECC. Food is available in the bar with offers including stone baked pizzas and our signature 'Clydebuilt' Burgers. The Kitchen, located at the opposite end of the bar, offers a more intimate environment and a substantial menu.

As a result of our success, from September 2015 we will have an additional dining area located at the front entrance of the bar. Affectionately known as the 'Clydebuilt View', we have transformed part of the bar area into additional dining space. Private booths, with full leather upholstery, now wrap around the windows and, to help create a more intimate environment, key clamp detailing has been installed along the banquette seating.

Both areas will offer the full Kitchen menu and are available to pre-book from September. Unfortunately at the moment we are unable to guarantee a table in a selected area however pre-booking is still highly recommended.

Booked a table for a pre-theatre meal as we were attending a show at the Clyde Auditorium. The place was half empty we ordered our food and were presented with the bill before it even arrived not a good start! Pizza arrived complete with Ikea style meatballs which looked very unappetising and tasted the same and had to be removed to be able to eat pizza, fish n chips was not as described on the menu and the nearest it got to a beer batter was it may have sat next to a bottle on the bar it was as though it was from a packet of frozen fish bought from supermarket. It really was a substandard meal certainly wasn't worth the money. Spoke to two other couples who dined at the same time and they weren't impressed either. Considering this is in a prime location for all the venues it certainly is missing a trick you don't need to have anything fancy just good food at a reasonable price. This was our first and definitely last visit.

At last! an eatery next to Glasgow's concert venues which gets the pre-theatre concept i.e. the speed of service with the friendliest of staff. It's always such a rush to get something to eat between finishing work and going to a concert and if by the time your dinner arrives you have to gulp it down, you just don't enjoy it! But not with Clydebuilt, the service and speed with which our order came was brilliant - looking forward to going back soon.

Lovely light and airy feel to the restaurant. Our server was a lovely lad and was very attentive. We enjoyed our meal immensely and the service was super fast. Food good and tasty, wine (Wandering Bear) lovely and deserts that were nice and calorific! We would definitely visit again when we are at the SSE Hydro, so handy and the area is lovely along the waterside too. Well done!

Clydebuilt is located at the main entrance to the SECC. There is no view apart from people coming in and going out of the SECC. The menu is posh pub and the food well presented and tasty. The service is excellent - friendly and helpful. My wife and I ate there prior to going to the Hydro and it was fairly relaxing.

I went with my 7yr old daughter before Disney on Ice. The menu was great and the kids menu had a great choice on it with Mackies ice cream (non of your cheap rubbish) It was ideal before the hydro and the staff were very friendly and no hanging about. I will certainly go back when going to an event.

This was our first time to Clydebuilt Bar & Kitchen, my son who is profoundly deaf & autistic was a bit upset on arrival due to it being unfamiliar to him but the staff were very friendly, understanding & patient with him. Allowed us some time to settle at our table & didn't rush over immediately to take our orders. My son is also non-verbal & does hi-fives as his way of saying hello & once I had explained this to the waiting staff, they really interacted in a positive & friendly way with him whenever they were near our table! This made our first visit to this venue a very happy & enjoyable experience.

We booked a table before a show in the Hydro. Even though we left an extra hour for traveling, as recommended by the website, there was an unforeseen lane closure making us 15mins late for our table. The staff were more than accommodating on the phone when we explained that we would be late. The table service was extremely quick and very pleasant. They catered very well for children with their menu being very reasonable for the amount of food served. The food from the main menu was delicious. We made it in plenty of time to the show and all agreed that we would be back again if going to the Imax, Hydro or SECC in the future!

Food was very bland, ordered a burger and could not taste any seasoning or anything. We were rushed into ordering although at the time of entering the restaurant, it was very quiet. We just wanted to sit there and have a drink but the waitress came over 3 times in a 10 min period. The wine was over priced at £20 a bottle for something I can pick up in a supermarket for £6 a bottle. Overall it was very average. If I ever go to the Hydro again, I would not go back.

A decent place to eat at before a concert in SSE Hydro (much better than the fast food options there). The veggie burger was OK (I was disappointed because I didn't expect it to be fried), but the pizza was very good. The atmosphere is really nice (good music!) and overall it is a nice place to eat at.
