Opened in 2007, Clyde Common is a diversely influenced, comfort-food focused restaurant paired with an award-winning bar program in the heart of downtown Portland, OR.

The energizing and open space features large windows looking out onto Harvey Milk Street. Clyde Common has a challenging menu, in my opinion. I ordered the steak frites and the meat was just OK and under-cooked per my preference of medium. Their specialty is cocktails and that's where they shine. I'll wait a while before returning for dinner.

Service was awesome! I ordered eggs Benedict and my egg yokes were not runny, which was a bummer. Everything else was great!

Everything about Clyde Common was great, except for the added "wellness" charge at the end. If you ask a server they'll tell you that it's to pay for health insurance and can be waved. This should be wrapped into the cost of the food, not charged separately. Paying workers a living wage with benefits is not "extra." It is simply the cost of doing business. I will not continue to patronize establishments where owners shame their workers in this way. It's a shame because the restaurant is otherwise lovely but I will not be going back.
