Great venue. Not a whole lot of variety in food choices but they all tasted amazing. The bread is fantastic!
Went to Cluny’s to celebrate a birthday and enjoyed the experience immensely. Everything we ordered was amazing....tasty and nicely presented. The ceviche appetizer was excellent and very different from standard ceviche. The turbot and the octopus mains were also exceptional. The chocolate bomb dessert is amazing!! The service is attentive and friendly. I would recommend this restaurant and plan to return for another visit.
Everything is great! Just for a French portions should have been smaller
Lovely restaurant. Food so tasty, oyster so fresh. Specially dessert, amazing. Sooooooooooo good. Cappuccino excellent.
Had a lovely evening with my partner. The food was excellent! The service was very efficient. Will definitely go again.
I had a really great time at Clunys. It was my birthday celebration with 6 of my other girlfriends. They gave us a nice booth and even gave me a beautiful dessert we all shared for free! Thank you to our amazing server I believe his name was Rain. I highly recommend him. He was so patient, kind and always smiling every time he approached our table. Thank you for splitting the bills for us and taking photos for us as well ! Rate this place a 10/10! I will definitely be coming back with my husband and family sometime in the near future.
Great restaurant/ambiance with quality food - which is never disappointing, but the service team tends to bring the bill super quick and expect you to pay right away to kick you out asap. Leaves you with an uncomfortable feeling towards the end. Or maybe it was a one or two instance I have experienced.
It was the second time at Cluny. My first impression was very good, the food was delicious. But this time, I got very disappointed with the quality. I ordered the same dish, and I could not finish it, because the meat was horrible. I ordered the steak & eggs. Unfortunately, Cluny will no longer be at the top of my list.
Took my niece for her Birthday. We had a wonderful experience. Our server was fun, attentive, and the pacing of the food was great. We started with the small seafood tower with a glass of excellent SB French wine. Our mains were steak & frites and the lamb which were excellent. We chose a pricy Bordeaux - amazing. Followed up with a small cheese platter. Although the cheese was excellent I would have preferred the exclusion of the cracker bread and one more choice of cheese. Our server brought baguette bread per our request. Since it was a Birthday the restaurant offered a lovely dessert plate. We asked why no creme brûlée. Our server went to their bakery and brought it out to us. Although pricey (and we went all out) it was worth it.
Nice ambience and although a large restaurant it was an intimate dinner.
Cluny never disappoints. From the amazing variety of fresh breads to the stellar wine list and super-friendly and knowledgeable wait staff , it's all great!
Two of us frequently lunch but we had both been travelling, he to South Africa and me to the US, and this was a time to get caught up. We had lunched at Cluny several times and think the venu is perfect for a meeting of friends and for families thus we chose to return because of ease of parking, the bight airy room, attentive cheerful staff, good food. We found all of these elements in place. We lunched on oysters, Onion soup and an appitiser, along with a glass and a half of wine each. The service was not to your standards and we found we had to chase the server for a few things including the bill. The bill for the two of us was @$200.00 which we found a bit surprising and we questioned the server who put replied that the cost and perhaps it was due to the wine.
I think this is an excellent place and I will likely return however I am not sure it is good value. I frequent a lot of restruarants in a number of cities and the ones that deliver consistency, quality, and high standards of service, can command a premium. Those that dont soon fade.
Overall the experience was fantastic! The only complaint/feedback was that the asparagus sharable plate tasted bland. Seemed like it wasn’t seasoned at all. Would certainly go back and highly recommend.
Food was good, lovely decor, eclectic menu, terrible waitress. Service spoiled the meal. Dropped cutlery several times, inattentive, spilled gravy on son in laws seat while he was in bathroom and didn't clean it up or apologize. Seriously $300 for 4 and thats the level of service, brutal.
Thank you Cluny for another wonderful experience. My colleague had never been to your beautiful restaurant, and he told me he would definitely come back and bring his gluten-free wife for some tasty options.
The onion soup does NOT disappoint, and it is the perfect portion size for lunch.
Our server was friendly but not intrusive - perfect!
Cluny's was a great experience. The food was yummy and the dessert was devine! Would love to bring my husband for a date soon.
The firmness of the bench seating still has not been improved.
It is too soft and was improved by a cushion offered by the reception person.
A restaurant at this level should be concerned about diners' comfort
The food was absolutely amazing! The restaurant is just lovely also. Very reasonably priced for the quality you're getting. 100% recommend!
FANTASTIC French onion soup, didn’t love the artichoke pastry dish. Small and came out cold.
A pleasant venue to spend a birthday lunch.we appreciated the complimentary birthday dessert.
Also the menu lists gf items which is mandatory for me.
My friend loves Paris so was very excited about the decor.
The food and the service was great! I'll go back! I'll recommend this restaurant to people
Amazing service and food. Great for our Anniversary celebration.
The menu items, list the ingredients of each dish, but didn't describe anything about the way it would be served. The server didn't really take time to describe the seasonal menu, nor anything on the regular menu, or offer any type of suggestions. Quite the surprise when both dishes got to the table, I wanted to send them back, but we're not the type of people to do that. I probably won't go back.
Gretlat service, delicious bistro fare, great ambience.
Great service, lovely ambiance and the Baked Vanilla & Chocolate French Toast was devine!
Easter brunch was terrific.
Was good food. Good room. Great desserts. What more could you want.
Not only is this restaurant in the coolest new districts in Toronto, the restaurant was exceptional all the way around. I arrived solo to start and of course sat at the bar. Normally I’m glued to my cell phone, but the bartender Reggie would have none of that. He is very engaging with his bar patrons and makes you feel welcomed the moment you sit down.
Then my hubby arrives for our 20th Anniversary dinner and we had the full attention of Jamie, our waiter. When he saw us trying to pass different apps across the table, he literally ran to the table and did it for us (Twice). LOL.
The French Onion Soup and the Table Side Beef TarTar were amazing. Also they had 3 ovens/warmers for their breads and butter on display in the middle of the restaurant. Super cool.
The atmosphere is very Chic as every good French restaurant should be.
I highly recommend this to anyone wanting a superb experience and dining! I will be back.
It was a wonderful experience to share with our friends, our only complaint from the 4 of us was that after spending the $ we did why would they charge us for a 2nd cup of coffee - we were there for a leisurely Sunday Brunch.
Casual French dining experience. Food was delicious. For appetizers shared the small seafood tower and foie gras-interesting twist but delicious with the peanut butter and jelly. Then for the mains-filet mignon for my husband and Arctic char for me. Both meals were delicious. Setting is gorgeous but it is more casual. Quite a big place so great for friends and family events, not necessarily for a romantic date, but definitely would go back.
Thank you for the wonderful food and service at Cluny. The service was efficient, friendly, and warm. Thank you again for the complimentary oysters via the Toronto Key to the City program. I absolutely loved my meal and the pastries from the boulangerie café. I will definitely return!
Enjoyed a wonderful dinner at Cluny. I had the NY strip loin with garlic butter and frites. Perfectly prepared and very tasty. Will definitely return for our fourth visit.
Great ambience and excellent service. Good wine list.
Just a small reminder that lamb was a little uncooked for my girlfriend. But it was for me very good.
Superb menu. Excellent cooking. Not cheap — if you want cheap go somewhere else.
The menu is very limited if you don't like or can't eat cheese but otherwise was good. Portion size was generous. When booking they had asked if it was a special occasion (which it was, a birthday): the server mentioned this twice but they never did anything with the information. I wasn't expecting a free cake but it was strange to be asked, have them mention it and then... nothing. Also, the front desk staff seemed shy and unable to engage customers - if you can't look people in the eye and greet them, perhaps some other role would be more suitable. The decor is fantastic and the location great if you're going to the Soulpepper or have been wandering around the Distillery District.
My uncle and I went for dinner here before a show at the Young Theatre and shared a series of tapas. Good was on the whole good and service commendable. Would have appreciated more prompt service however to get us to the show in time - food came out quickly but took a long time to get served to order it.
It was my first time at Cluny and I loved it! The ambience is terrific - I felt I was in Paris. The food was delicious and our server was helpful and very nice. Many thanks.
Very noisy Sat. Nite, unable to have conversations acct background chatter.
Bisque nicely presented in puff pastry.
The ambiance is always great and the food was delicious as usual. Our server also picked up on a comment about it being my birthday as I was asking for the check, and he surprised me with a birthday dessert! And knowing that I was moving to a new city in the states, he also gave me a rundown of his favorite places to grab a bite in that city. Awesome venue and awesome service!
It was our first time at Clumy and our first impression was what beautiful decor and ambience....only to be impressed by service and delicious, beautiful food. We’ll be back next time in Toronto.
