CAFÉ & BOULANGERIE
Our adjacent café lets you take Cluny home (or pick up the perfect host gift!) with pastries, macarons, housemade terrines and preserves, and artisanal pantry items. Dine-in or take out, from coffee to fresh-baked breads, made-to-order crepes to sandwiches.
Our experience at Cluny was overall okay. Our Salmon was undercooked and it had a weird foam on it as part of the meal. More for show then anything else. The lamb dish was pretty good but far too salty. The service was great and Cluny is very stylish and has really cool architecture and nice finishing touches but unfortunately food over all else was lacking what I was expecting from all the reviews I read prior. For a $200 dollar meal for two I would have to give it just 3 stars based on the food only.
Went to Cluny for my birthday. My party had a variety of delicious food. The service was great and the restaurant is gorgeous. I really appreciated that they gave us the opportunity to buy a bottle of Australian wine for the table, the purchase of which donated money to Australian wildfire relief.
Best brunch in Toronto! French omelettes cannot be beat!
Always amazing with the coq au vin poutine!! Absolute fav my 3rd time here for dinner!! Waiting for 20mins for the passion fruit soufflé is so long but so worth it
The French onion soup is fantastic. It’s a must, best in the city.
Pretty atmosphere, great service, from our server Brooke, and delicious food. It was the perfect pre-theatre dinner.
Except for the way too sweet onion soup, everything we had was outstanding.
Service was also deserving of my 20%
Even buying bread next door was a great experience.
Always my favourite
Friends loved the interior and spacing of tables. Excellent service. Went to bar after dinner but it was closed early due to the horrible rain storm. Served us anyway!
We were at Cluny to celebrate a birthday. The food and the service were outstanding. Kudos to Andrew Wilson and his staff for a superb culinary experience!
Great service and yummy food!!
Our server was attentive without being overbearing. I spilt a glass of wine and he brought me another at no extra cost. It was quiet, as it was the beginning of January, but I like that. It was a good birthday dinner. I guess the only suggestion I would have is that it would be nice to have the vegetables as part of the dinner and not something you have to pay extra for. Pretty pricey. Overall I’d recommend Cluny.
We enjoyed the food very much. Service was excellent and overall noise was low enough for long conversations.
Always great. Love going there the food is always consistantly good and the french onion soup is my all time favourite thing there!
Great food and great staff as always!
Beautiful restaurant, great service and location is amazing. I would add a bit more options to the brunch menu, otherwise everything was great.
Everything was perfect.
Dined here several times.
This time, very disappointed in the steak dinners for our 2 gentleman.
Very fatty and undercooked.
Have sent an email to Cluny already.
Didn’t want to critique at time as we were entertaining guests.
Please advise the chef.
It was a close to a perfect lunch as you can get. Particular thanks to the wine steward, whose name I can't remember. He was a prince.
New Year’s Day Brunch with the family
I've been to Cluny a few times and have always enjoyed my experience, but my latest was probably the best. We were celebrating my partner's birthday on NYE and arrived an hour earlier than our reservation. The hosts happily seated us bar side where we indulged in a few starters and drinks. When our table was ready and we transferred to the dining area and ordered more food, it seemed like we only waited a few minutes to receive our starters and our mains came shortly after. The customer service was fabulous and the servers really seem to work well as a team - everything was perfectly orchestrated! To top the evening off, our server brought our a surprise (even for me!) dessert for my partner - two macarons and a beautifully scripted "happy birthday" message. Considering it was NYE, I thought it was likely to be a chaotic evening in any restaurant, but honestly, we were treated so well and never would've guessed it was one of the busiest nights of the year. My partner now says it's the best restaurant he's ever been to. Will definitely be back with more friends and family! We ordered: sesame crusted asparagus (good, but slightly lacked flavour without the aioli), oysters (delish!), foie gras éclairs (delish!), french onion soup (yummy and cheesy and overflowing goodness!), French bistro burger and lamb bourguignon which I there we were way too full to enjoy at that point, ha!
I was disappointed with French onion soup. They didn’t use gruyere cheese. Not sure what bland cheese they used. The frites were cold and hard.
We love Cluny. The food is wonderful and the ambiance is lovely. Our server Dillan, was excellent- attentive and friendly. Tuna tomato salad was perfect and French onion soup delicious as usual. The crunchy asparagus spears were not as I remember having them a while ago. There was too much breading for my taste. All in all an excellent lunch. We’ll be back!
Food not worth the money. Skate was good had better. King Salmon nothing special. Waygu beef was ok. Hanger steak and fries was the only good main. Foams and mousse on dishes are over kill. Borcollini had no flavour. Service was ok. Restaurant ran out of foccacia bread and this was an early seating. Positive, Frogs legs were really good. Overall not worth the money. Had better French cuisine at other restaurants. I'm not a critic but I love my food.
Really loved this place. Beautiful dining room, wonderful menu, everything was delicious. Bonus for us that it's also family friendly. Our kids loved it too.
Our server was very enthusiastic and welcoming. The food as always was excellent and the reason we always return to Cluny.
I made a reservation for 5 for dinner. When we arrived there seemed to be a lot of confusion about where they wanted to seat us. We waited and then were led to a table for 4. They had crammed 3 table settings on one side of the table in order to fit the 5 of us. After sitting for a minute we realized that this was incredibly uncomfortable, especially since the person in the middle was in between two tables that were different heights. We asked to be seated at an actual table for 5 and were treated horribly about this! We were led to another table for 4 in which they had again crammed 3 settings on one side. After more discussion, we were told that reservations for 6 are easy because they have tables near the windows for 6. We asked if we could move one of the single tables up to the table for 4 they wanted to seat us at, and this was another battle until someone else from the restaurant came and added a table for us. This experience really disappointed us right from the start. We waited awhile before someone came over to tell us that our sever would be with us shortly, but that they would take our drink orders in the meantime. We ended up having several different servers over the course of our evening and it seems like they did not have enough staff. The food was good but due to the incredibly disappointing service we received when we arrived and the battle we had to endure in order to get an adequate table for our reservation, we will not be back and would not recommend.
It was an amazing experience.
Mark did a great job!
We had reservations for 7:15. We were seated around 7:20. Our waiter did not approach us until 7:50. It was busy but not overly.
Food was good but not great or spectacular. We had an incredible experience for brunch in early September which is why we invited our friends for this experience.
One of our friends soup was missed during the appetizers so one was expedited to return with the original missing soup at the end of the meal.
The stars of the show was the meal were the Bayou balls and the dessert - Chocolate pot de crème
I love the ambiance of this restaurant. So naturally when my friend was coming to visit from LA I had to bring him here. He loved it!
It was a Thur night and the place was 3/4 packed. Food was great. My Caesar salad was interesting, it came with a piece of fried cheese and egg yolk which changed the whole dynamic of an otherwise boring salad. My pork belly tasted good but thought it was more like a piece of lean ham. My wife loved her frank steak but I found it a bit on the chewy side. The Rhone Valley bottle “Les Terrasse” was amazing and reasonably priced at $68. The bread was to died for and our waiter kept bringing them tray after tray. The ambience was also very modern French but it was a bit loud that night. Overall it was a great place to dine at the Distillary.
The worst experience I have ever had. The food did not need our expectations. Our waiter was extremely rude and not organized. We were surprised that such person was hired to serve customers. One fork was missing, then he brought the wrong beer and wrong meal. He was annoyed with everything we asked and never apologized. We could not believe in what we saw and heard... our celebration was completely spoiled.
Wasn’t busy but the wait staff took a long time to take our order and then again to settle our bill. Was fine otherwise. Great ambience!
A few more breakfast options would be good to have on weekdays, especially when it’s a holiday since people treat those days like weekends. Also, jam should be available with bread on weekdays too just as a standard condiment that could be requested. I had to go to the patisserie just to purchase jam to go along with the bread and butter. Pretty silly.
It was very good; just the service was a bit lame
My friend is lactose intolerant and asked for recommendations that he could eat. Our server suggested the lamb, but then the lamb came on top of mashed potatoes full of dairy. He sent it back and didn’t end up able to eat anything.
My first visit, but not my last!.A very enjoyable atmosphere, excellent visual effects, service and food is pleasurable!.
I had the French Onion soup which I can easily say was the best I have ever had. Our son had steak frites and he said it was fantastic. My wife had the coq au vin poutine and said it was delicious. We also bought baguettes and croissants from the bakery.....excellent!
We have been to Cluny several times for lunch. We love the ambience and the quality of the food is excellent. We had the French onion soup this time and the broth was delicious - rich and complex. I've had the tuna and tomato salad before and it's also wonderful. The tuna was seared perfectly and the dressing is so complimentary. Our only complaint is the frites are too thin to stay hot for long. When the first batch was delivered cold our server was excellent and delivered a fresh batch promptly and hot. But they still cooled quickly because they are very thin. We'll still be back because everything else is so good!
