My wife and I visited Club A 2 months ago, and was blown away with the service and excellent food.
We brought our family here last night and again the food and service is the best. Our family loved it!!
Anniversary with boyfriend. Brought over complimentary happy anniversary dessert and took our picture. Great experience, made the night really special. I would highly recommend
Fantastic, from start to finish.
Outstanding steaks - we had Prime Rib and Ribeye. Both were simply fantastic. I don't write reviews often. You can go wrong here...
Pricey, but that is the going rate for great steaks.
Birthday dinner. Excellent cocktails and food. Diego, our server, gave us very good service. Thank you
It was our anniversary dinner and we also had a birthday. They acknowledged both. The staff was so sweet and they had a singer downstairs, so it made everything romantic. There was a proposal next to our table and everything about that night was perfect. I would say the staff made us feel special. We were going to go back to Beauty & Essex, but I’m so happy we gave this restaurant a try. It’s a great place to take pictures as well.
Coming from Hawaii, we have lots of steak houses. But this place was beyond on what we expected. As soon as we got there we were greeted with warm smiles and great attitudes. Being the person who booked the reservations I didn’t expect the restaurant to look the way it did, very classy and a totally different atmosphere which was amazing to us. The food, the service and the drinks were awesome!!!!! We ill be coming back for more the next time we’re in New York.
Mahalo club A steakhouse for great food and service!
My wife and I enjoyed a wonderful experience and we look forward to dining again real soon!
One of my favorite restaurants in all of New York! I've been going to Club A Steakhouse since it was called "Bruno's", about 25 years ago! It's still owned by the same family and the feeling of being a part of this family is evident as soon as you are greeted by one of Bruno's three sons.
The menu is just about the same for the past 20 years, and it is consistently good. It is not a very extensive menu (which always irritates me in restaurants ... just too much to remember and decide on) but the choices at Club A are varied and all are delicious. Their fish is as wonderful as their steaks and chops and their vegetables are never overcooked. Don't get me started about their desserts, which are just fabulous!
I had my usual for dinner, the "Club A Royal Platter", which is actually an appetizer, but large enough (with a side) to be an entree. The Royal platter consists of 1/2 small lobster and one claw, shrimp, crab meat and three different sauces. My friend had (what she described as) "the best baby lamb chops ever!" She asked for "medium rare, but more medium than rare" and that is exactly what she was served. We shared sides of asparagus with almonds and mashed potatoes. Even with sharing, there was enough for each of us to take home for another meal! Dessert consisted of a platter of small cream puffs, tiramisu, cheesecake, and cappuccino. We went home stuffed and satisfied.
Bruno Selimaj's restaurants are good for any occasion, but no other restaurants in New York are as good for excellent food, service, warm ambience and especially special occasions! Let them know what you are celebrating, and you might just get a surprise!! (I'm the one with the happy smile!)
Club A has a lovely atmosphere accompanied by fantastic staff! We were blown away by the food and how accommodating Diego our waiter was. We were eating out for our anniversary and I can’t tell you how spectacular they made it! Would go back in a heart beat!
We had a fantastic night at Club A Steakhouse. It was really easy to book via OpenTable whilst still in the UK, with just a quick email needed to confirm the reservationp. The restaurant is gorgeous - both upstairs and down are cozy, warm and romantic. The night we went (a Saturday) there was a great live jazz band! The service was fantastic, really attentive. I let the restaurant know that it was my partners birthday prior to arriving and they went out of their way to make the evening special - including giving us a card with a picture of the two of us taken that evening to take home with us. The food was amazing - particularly the fillet mignon. Both my partner and I would definitely recommend Club A and will be back when we next visit NYC!
Steak was over cooked. I just expected more. It was not the quality level that I paid for.
My husband and I haven't been to New York in eight years. I had read great reviews about the steakhouse, it did not disappointed.
Bruno and sons are at the pinnacle of service and quality dining for discerning patrons in a crowded marketplace. While celebrating my mom’s 70th birthday they pulled out all the stops. If you are looking for a place you are treated like family...this is it.
All around wonderful experience despite running out of the only think I wanted...Branzino
Great experience from start to finish. Yes it may be expensive for some but you pay for what you get, not only was all the food cooked to perfection but the service was fantastic.
Great experience ! I would recommend Club A Steakhouse to every one I know!
Great evening. Great service and delicious filet! Loved our waiter. A variety of steak sauces available.
Steaks excellent but somewhat oversalted.
Good wine list at fair prices.
Nice jazz trio downstairs.
My guests and I ordered a filet and the prime cut ribeye. The prime cut rib eye was cooked medium and tough. The second time it was cooked closer to medium rare but cold in the middle. They offered deserts and after dinner drinks because I sent my second steak back.
Monday night must be rookie night for the cook. Would not come here again.
Came here to celebrate for my birthday. Everything was absolutely delicious! Ordered the porterhouse steak for 2 with the mac & cheese and creamed spinach. Received a complimentary piece of ravioli and dessert. Amazing! Worth every penny spent! Will definitely be back!!
Excellent food and service during a busy weekend
Anniversary celebration. The service was simply phenomenal. The wait staff went out of their way to pamper us. Food was sensational, from the complimentary amuse bouche to the fantastic anniversary dessert plate. Truly awesome. We will be back again and again!!!
My husband and I dined at Club A Steakhouse as an early Valentine's dinner. The decor was beautiful and the service was outstanding. Excellent dinner, overall a great experience.
We went for a birthday dinner date while visiting NYC for a long weekend and we left highly satisfied. The staff was very welcoming and made the experience memorable. It was during restaurant week so we each started with the calamari, which was both of our's least favorite dish. We also tried the bacon and it was full of flavor. We both had the filet mignon and mac and cheese and they were both delicious. The steaks were cooked perfectly and very tender. Last we had the tiramisu and it was also incredible. We would definitely dine here again.
Live music on a Friday night was a nice touch. Went during restaurant week and was very impressed. Excellent temp on the steaks. Mac and Cheese was also very good. Fries could have been crispier for my liking, but tasted amazing. Overall recommend this place to anyone.
Club A Steakhouse is a very beautiful restaurant. What adds to its charm is its staff; they are on point with service, as well as not making me feel uncomfortable despite being WAY WAY underdressed. I came from an appointment and came in jeans, sneakers, and a duffle bag. Everyone else was polished, and to be honest I looked like I didn't belong. But they still welcomed me and I really appreciated the gesture. I came alone and was seated at a corner table. I loved it. I had the view of the restaurant and its beautiful decor. I was in luck and it was last day if NYC Restaurant Week and I got to enjoy a three-course meal for a steal!
I ordered the Club A Thick Cut Bacon to start, which was really good. The sauce that came with it complemented it well. For dinner, I had a Filet Mignon (10oz) and to be honest, it was alright. It wasn't seasoned as much as I would like, but then again that makes it better than it being overly seasoned. I got the Mashed Potato, as recommended by the server, and as simple as it was, I was glad I got it. I asked for some steak sauce and they gave me the same sauce for the bacon. As good as it was for the bacon, it wasn't something I would pair with the filet mignon, just because it is lean and for the temperature I got it (rare), it just didn't go well. I'm happy that they did cook the steak to temperature I liked! For dessert, I got tiramisu. I haven't had tiramisu in years and this did not disappoint! It was good and creamy and not frozen like some places. It was a good choice.
Service overall was great. Everyone was on top of their job, refilling my empty water glass, asking if I wanted another drink, checking up on how my food was, managers checking up guests... Everything was great. I would definitely come back again!
Everything is very good!
The meal was incredible and the value received under the Restaurant Week Menu was AWESOME!!! I highly recommend it to everyone!!!!
The medium rare steak is overcooked. The surface is bitter and it is hard to chew.
The food was average, the steak was overcooked. Got a nice table though -- near the window on the second floor. I see no reason to come back nor to recommend this restaurant to anybody, while there are so many great spots in New York.
Food was great and so was the atmosphere
It was our first time here—-I took my wife for her birthday; It was absolutely outstanding. We are planning our next visit!
Went for dinner during restaurant week. Not the cleanest place. There was a bug in the water glass and when we pointed this out to the server, he threw out the water and refilled the same glass, rather than giving us a fresh glass. The bottom of my wine glass was filthy as well. The food was a good value and I enjoyed my steak. The deserts were stale.
I came here for restaurant week with my fiancé. We ordered calamari, seared bacon for appetizer course. Mac n cheese, garlic fries for sides. Hanger steak and filet mignon for entree. Cheesecake and tiramisu for dessert. The only good items were the bacon, Mac n cheese and tiramisu (homemade). Meats were very chewy and dry, fries were old and stale, cheesecake was still frozen. I’ve read very good reviews otherwise so I would be willing to give it another try, outside of restaurant week.
Club A Steakhouse is an underrated gem in the NYC steakhouse scene. The portions are large, the quality is top-notch, the service is impeccable, and best of all, it is reasonably priced compared to the higher end Steakhouses. The decor is perfect for conversations and especially date nights. Simply a perfect restaurant.
Ordered off of restaurant week menu. Everything was good except for cheesecake. Was frozen in center and grainy.
The fireplace was poorly vented and guarded, with smoke and ash pouring into the bar area. The food was a bit inconsistent. For example, the salmon and filet mignon were seasoned and cooked perfectly, and the creamed spinach and Mac and cheese were delightful. But some of the bread was stale, the Caesar salad had only one crouton, the steak tartar had some gristly bits and far fewer chips than the table next door, the salmon came on top of thinly sliced raw vegetables which were inedible, the profiteroles were squishy and greasy, and the cheesecake was frozen solid. Good waiter and great live jazz.
Ordered my Filet Mignon “medium rare” and received it medium well. But overdone for my taste. Expected more from a place like this!
Came from Boston to celebrate birthday.
Couldn't have been any nicer.
Staff was wonderful and manager was very friendly.
Complimentary birthday dessert and hostess took my picture.
Would recommend this restaurant highly, food amazing, atmosphere lovely.
