Club A Steakhouse Ratings and Reviews
My guests and I ordered a filet and the prime cut ribeye. The prime cut rib eye was cooked medium and tough. The second time it was cooked closer to medium rare but cold in the middle. They offered deserts and after dinner drinks because I sent my second steak back.
Monday night must be rookie night for the cook. Would not come here again.
Came here to celebrate for my birthday. Everything was absolutely delicious! Ordered the porterhouse steak for 2 with the mac & cheese and creamed spinach. Received a complimentary piece of ravioli and dessert. Amazing! Worth every penny spent! Will definitely be back!!
Anniversary celebration. The service was simply phenomenal. The wait staff went out of their way to pamper us. Food was sensational, from the complimentary amuse bouche to the fantastic anniversary dessert plate. Truly awesome. We will be back again and again!!!
We went for a birthday dinner date while visiting NYC for a long weekend and we left highly satisfied. The staff was very welcoming and made the experience memorable. It was during restaurant week so we each started with the calamari, which was both of our's least favorite dish. We also tried the bacon and it was full of flavor. We both had the filet mignon and mac and cheese and they were both delicious. The steaks were cooked perfectly and very tender. Last we had the tiramisu and it was also incredible. We would definitely dine here again.
Live music on a Friday night was a nice touch. Went during restaurant week and was very impressed. Excellent temp on the steaks. Mac and Cheese was also very good. Fries could have been crispier for my liking, but tasted amazing. Overall recommend this place to anyone.
Club A Steakhouse is a very beautiful restaurant. What adds to its charm is its staff; they are on point with service, as well as not making me feel uncomfortable despite being WAY WAY underdressed. I came from an appointment and came in jeans, sneakers, and a duffle bag. Everyone else was polished, and to be honest I looked like I didn't belong. But they still welcomed me and I really appreciated the gesture. I came alone and was seated at a corner table. I loved it. I had the view of the restaurant and its beautiful decor. I was in luck and it was last day if NYC Restaurant Week and I got to enjoy a three-course meal for a steal!
I ordered the Club A Thick Cut Bacon to start, which was really good. The sauce that came with it complemented it well. For dinner, I had a Filet Mignon (10oz) and to be honest, it was alright. It wasn't seasoned as much as I would like, but then again that makes it better than it being overly seasoned. I got the Mashed Potato, as recommended by the server, and as simple as it was, I was glad I got it. I asked for some steak sauce and they gave me the same sauce for the bacon. As good as it was for the bacon, it wasn't something I would pair with the filet mignon, just because it is lean and for the temperature I got it (rare), it just didn't go well. I'm happy that they did cook the steak to temperature I liked! For dessert, I got tiramisu. I haven't had tiramisu in years and this did not disappoint! It was good and creamy and not frozen like some places. It was a good choice.
Service overall was great. Everyone was on top of their job, refilling my empty water glass, asking if I wanted another drink, checking up on how my food was, managers checking up guests... Everything was great. I would definitely come back again!
Went for dinner during restaurant week. Not the cleanest place. There was a bug in the water glass and when we pointed this out to the server, he threw out the water and refilled the same glass, rather than giving us a fresh glass. The bottom of my wine glass was filthy as well. The food was a good value and I enjoyed my steak. The deserts were stale.
I came here for restaurant week with my fiancé. We ordered calamari, seared bacon for appetizer course. Mac n cheese, garlic fries for sides. Hanger steak and filet mignon for entree. Cheesecake and tiramisu for dessert. The only good items were the bacon, Mac n cheese and tiramisu (homemade). Meats were very chewy and dry, fries were old and stale, cheesecake was still frozen. I’ve read very good reviews otherwise so I would be willing to give it another try, outside of restaurant week.
Club A Steakhouse is an underrated gem in the NYC steakhouse scene. The portions are large, the quality is top-notch, the service is impeccable, and best of all, it is reasonably priced compared to the higher end Steakhouses. The decor is perfect for conversations and especially date nights. Simply a perfect restaurant.
The fireplace was poorly vented and guarded, with smoke and ash pouring into the bar area. The food was a bit inconsistent. For example, the salmon and filet mignon were seasoned and cooked perfectly, and the creamed spinach and Mac and cheese were delightful. But some of the bread was stale, the Caesar salad had only one crouton, the steak tartar had some gristly bits and far fewer chips than the table next door, the salmon came on top of thinly sliced raw vegetables which were inedible, the profiteroles were squishy and greasy, and the cheesecake was frozen solid. Good waiter and great live jazz.
It was my fiance’s birthday! I called them twice for make sure to prepare birthday dessert.
They forgot to bring cake with candle.
I was so upset. Because I called them twice.
I let them know about this situation before got bills.
Please next time more care about this.
Food was decent but not spectacular. Had bits of cork in my glass of wine. Advertises live music on certain nights but only on the first floor, so it's not quite live when your table is on the second floor. Other than that, overall restaurant ambiance was nice and service was fine.
Had a lovely meal here this week, a short wait for table but to be expected as the place was really busy. The $42 menu was great value and we had the Filet mignon whilst my sister had the hanger steak , really well cooked however no vegetables or salad were served, I appreciate that they are on the sides but a side salad of green leaves, strawberries and radishes for $12 seemed unreasonable.
This was our first trip to New York and everyone had said how expensive food and drinks are and they aren't kidding, and as I say $12 for a plate of green leaves is incredible.
I was in a dilemna when it came to rating value for money as everywhere whether good or bad charges extorniate prices and overall the menu here was excellent value, and superb steaks......we would come back .
Checked out Club A for Restaurant Week that just happened to coincide with my boyfriend's birthday. Food was delicious, the hostess and waiter were friendly and helpful, the ambiance was great (got to sit on the second floor near the window - gorgeous!) and the noise level was low enough to have a conversation, but not so quiet I felt like everyone could hear what I was saying. Will definitely be back!
