Clinkerdagger Ratings and Reviews
This restaurant has gone downhill since part of a chain. The location is still awesome. The food is good but way overpriced. The service is usually good but last night was busy and the service was bad. The waitress had too much to do. The dinner arrived before we were done with soup/salad. Another waiter delivered and offered to take back, bring later after reheating. The push for the chain frequent dinner is tacky. Not sure when we might go back.
Surprisingly, the bacon wrapped meatloaf was the star of the show. I'd go back for that. The view was incredible. The burger was good, but if truffle is in the name I expect to taste it and I couldn't. The seafood Alfredo was oily and dry instead of creamy and fishy tasting. The pork chop was tender, but the flavor (which straight forward pork and jam) was passable but very one dimensional. I would have loved to taste some savoriness and herbs alongside the jammy compote.
I haven't been to Clinker Daggers for dinner in years but have had lunch on several occasions.
I suggested that a group of my senior citizen friends dine there after attending a play.
We were all a bit shocked at the dinner prices. The menu and the location certainly justify this but our budgets will limit our next visit to a lunchtime experience.
The wait staff was amazing, and the service was incredible. Our server seemed knowledgeable about menu items. The food was pretty good too. The view from our window seat was lovely. My only complaint was that we were sat by a family with small children who were crying a lot, which really isn't in the control of the restaurant, but is also pretty disappointing considering the amount we spent on our meal.
My two friends and I celebrated a birthday at Clinkerdaggers on a Friday afternoon. The service was welcoming and friendly from the host who sat us, to our wonderful waitress. The food was fresh, flavorful and well prepared. We also shared the yummy birthday dessert! This is a perfect place for any occasion. Certainly, not cheap, but worth every penny.
Fabulous. My daughter flew in from GA and was delighted to celebrate her 30th birthday at Clinkerdaggers. She loved your great creme brûlée with the candle to finish. Thanks for another great meal and experience at Clinkerdaggers. I'll be back with more guests. 😊
For upscale dining food was not paced. Our salad was 1/2 eaten when server brought main course. Not enough room on table for all the plates. Dinner 2/3 consumed when waiter wanted to take dessert order. Their main objective is to flip tables not provide dining experience
I have seen both positive & negative reviews and I find the negative ones not as accurate. Lilly, our server was attentive & friendly and made excellent recommendations as to our meal choices from the seasonal menu. She made sure our drinks and water were kept filled. The seared tenderloin medallions were excellent and my entree, the crab stuffed sole with smoked mushrooms was tasty. My husband thoroughly enjoyed his tomahawk pork chop as well. The seasonal peppermint mint torte with a coffee nudge was the perfect way to end my meal. Everyone was friendly and helpful. I will be back!
The last time I visited this establishment was about 15 years ago. Not much has changed, nice and cozy but the food is average with an outrageous price. This is the reason I haven't returned, cost way to much unless you earn an attorneys or doctors wage to be able to afford a family of four.
I would not recommend this restaurant.
Went for Christmas night dining. Was not impressed at all with the menu. Very Very Limited entree options. No Chicken on the menu. Limited fish, and only two meat options. How is this placed listed as a steakhouse with only 2 meat entrees? NOT IMPRESSED AT ALL. Hundreds of wine selections....this place should list itself as a wine bar.
We had dinner at the Clink for Christmas dinner. It was great as usual. Only drawback was that we were seated right next to the area where they dump the dirty dishes! It was terribly noisy and had to listen to waiters complain and etc. Had asked for a booth when making reservations in October...to no avail. Overall it was a good dinner and we will definitely be back.
The whole evening made me feel like my presence was an inconvenience to the staff. While I was seated in a timely manner, the waitstaff virtually ignored the two of us, in favor of larger tables. By the time our server arrived with water, we had virtually memorized the entire menu. We placed our order and was ignored again, except when my wine arrived without a glass (she then plucked a glass from a nearby empty table). The main course was timely and better than average but we were not checked on once it arrived. I was never offered a refill on my wine. We split a dessert and our check was unceremoniously dropped on the table, with dessert, without an offer to get anything else. My guest then had to chase the server down to give payment.
Clearly this server was overwhelmed by the amount of folks and since we weren’t a large table, I felt like we were just an interruption of her abliity to cash in on larger tipped parties. I won’t be back to bother them again.
