Clinkerdagger Ratings and Reviews
I have seen both positive & negative reviews and I find the negative ones not as accurate. Lilly, our server was attentive & friendly and made excellent recommendations as to our meal choices from the seasonal menu. She made sure our drinks and water were kept filled. The seared tenderloin medallions were excellent and my entree, the crab stuffed sole with smoked mushrooms was tasty. My husband thoroughly enjoyed his tomahawk pork chop as well. The seasonal peppermint mint torte with a coffee nudge was the perfect way to end my meal. Everyone was friendly and helpful. I will be back!
The last time I visited this establishment was about 15 years ago. Not much has changed, nice and cozy but the food is average with an outrageous price. This is the reason I haven't returned, cost way to much unless you earn an attorneys or doctors wage to be able to afford a family of four.
I would not recommend this restaurant.
Went for Christmas night dining. Was not impressed at all with the menu. Very Very Limited entree options. No Chicken on the menu. Limited fish, and only two meat options. How is this placed listed as a steakhouse with only 2 meat entrees? NOT IMPRESSED AT ALL. Hundreds of wine selections....this place should list itself as a wine bar.
We had dinner at the Clink for Christmas dinner. It was great as usual. Only drawback was that we were seated right next to the area where they dump the dirty dishes! It was terribly noisy and had to listen to waiters complain and etc. Had asked for a booth when making reservations in October...to no avail. Overall it was a good dinner and we will definitely be back.
The whole evening made me feel like my presence was an inconvenience to the staff. While I was seated in a timely manner, the waitstaff virtually ignored the two of us, in favor of larger tables. By the time our server arrived with water, we had virtually memorized the entire menu. We placed our order and was ignored again, except when my wine arrived without a glass (she then plucked a glass from a nearby empty table). The main course was timely and better than average but we were not checked on once it arrived. I was never offered a refill on my wine. We split a dessert and our check was unceremoniously dropped on the table, with dessert, without an offer to get anything else. My guest then had to chase the server down to give payment.
Clearly this server was overwhelmed by the amount of folks and since we weren’t a large table, I felt like we were just an interruption of her abliity to cash in on larger tipped parties. I won’t be back to bother them again.
Horrible service, obvious the staff didn’t want to be there on Christmas Eve. They didn't have the menu items available that they are known for. Food presentation was bad and steak small and cold. Waiter never came back to see how the food was or to see if we wanted more drinks. Ate my($42) steak and nothing else. Waited for the waiter to come back, he didn’t, had to go the bar to request my check. Poor service on staff but it seems the management didn’t have them prepared on what to expect for this special occasion.
Food was excellent and Tobin was a spectacular waiter. He made our evening memorable. Decor gorgeous at Christmas and what a special touch to have maitre d ask us how our time was on the way out. Clinkerdaggers is a class act place that we havent tired of in 37 years!
Honestly, the staff are super friendly and hospitable. The food and drinks are always delicious and the atmosphere is unbeatable! Thank you Clink's for a very special evening and for the great river view table as asked for in the 'Special Request' box when I made the reservations. We'll see you again soon! Merry Christmas!
Ps. Please thank the kitchen for specially making your fabulous 'Fish & Chips' for me, for dinner, from the lunch menu. I've been in San Diego for the last 7 years and really missed those!
A great place for prime rib and steaks but they also make delicious salmon. We took our adult daughter there for dinner when she arrived for the Christmas season. We had good service and a great meal. This was our second time eating here since moving from the SF BAY area and really enjoy the food.
Customer Servise is out of this world, Our server went well out of her way To make sure we where well Pleased to be In the restaurant, Her attitude towards My nephew was a above and beyond, She took well care of His service made sure He had all he needed and was well satisfied, Cheked on us Every 5 mins ad was not rushing us out of the door when the restaurant was closed, Truly Amazing service . Location of our sitting was Splended Our right gorgeous view, Food is a hole different matter, My stake was under cooked -I asked for medium rare but receives Rare, The lamb I was disappointed greatly with, Asked for well done But received Med rare, The sause on top made the Lamb crunchy not to pleasing with that aspect I wished for it to melt in my mouth not eat lamb chips. For Service and great location I would certainly come back, For Food I would think twice who I bring along with.
This is a new find for me overheard someone referencing it and I am new in the pac northwest— so looking for new favorite haunts! We have found one!!!!!! Love everything about this place! Thank you for being such a wonderful place with fantastic fantastic service!!! Will return over and over!
The service was excellent, the food great. My one complaint was the 1.9% tax ( read surcharge) on the bill for compensation for Washington’s minimum wage law. Shabby Clinks, you should know better. If you are trying to make a statement, then do it, don’t hide it.
Clinkerdagger’s is a gem for sure. We have had family gatherings or just my husband and me for many years. The location in the old flour mill is quaint and filled with character. The inside is also quaint and charming with brick walls and beautiful old rustic woodwork. The view is amazing, overlooking the falls and Riverfront Park. The servers are always professional and very friendly. And most of all the food can’t be beat! We went for Thanksgiving dinner, the meals were amazing. Then we went yesterday to see the beautiful Christmas decor, our favorite time of year to be there. I cannot say enough, you must dine there to see for yourself.
