Clinkerdagger Ratings and Reviews
Great Valentines Day dinner. Loved the prime rib- juicy and delicious. Husband loved the sole stuffed with crab meat. Good wine and husband enjoyed the IPA beer. Had asked for window table for a 5:30 pm reservation but none available verlooking falls but we’re very happy with the window table in the annex area with the large windows looking outside. Service was okay but not fantastic. Probably due to the crowds out for Valentines Day dinner. We have eaten here several times for dinner since moving to the area from the SF Bay Area and every time we’ve enjoyed the experience. We will be back again.
Went for Valentines Dinner. Fabulous service. Food is always perfect. I had prime rib my wife filet mignon. Both meals were cooked to perfection. As every other time we have been, this time did not disappoint. We both highly recommend Clinkerdaggers. Its amazing.
WE do love your restaurant for special occasions. Our visit this time was good however it could have been great. our sever Nate #6019 was not very personable, we tried to connect but for some reason that did not happen. I tried joking with him a few time and it was met with cold response. Example he asked if we wanted some bread and I told him please we need a lot because we don't have any! referring to we had no money. Our two grandchildren 14-10 thought he did not get it because of how he reacted so I asked him did you get it? Cold response YES! Not funny I guess. When paying for our meal We had two gift cards $20.00 each Nate said I don't think I can take more than one per table but I will ask. I told him that it did not mater to me one way or the other . He came back and said only one card per table and I said thank you anyway but that was your tip! Jokingly. Nate shrugged his shoulders and walked away like no big. I was a little taken back at his response. I did leave a generous tip to Nate, more than he properly deserved. Our bill was $220.00 before tax and my tip was $39.00. Maybe Nate was offended by my comments? You asked so that was our experience for my wife and I. we both thought it would have been a better experience with a more personable sever.
Had gone to Clinks for years before moving out of town and constantly talked it up to my wife whom I had never taken. The opportunity arose for a trip back to Spokane and she insisted on me taking her there. It was a perfect time to see the sun setting and the colors shift along the river. When being seated it sounded as though the hostess changed our seating location from one location to another (can't verify this) and I didn't think anything of it. End up being placed at the one table in the entire restaurant with no view of the river despite two tables near by being vacant for 1.25 hours as we ate dinner.
Thankfully my wife's food was quite enjoyable and she seemed happy with it; however, it has been a long time since I've had Ahi that didn't taste clean, overall the meal was beyond sub-par for what I considered to be one of the best in town. Come to dessert and the Burnt Creme is actually burnt, not caramelized, with a solid 3/4 inch wide crescent band of black and had the flavor of a flaming marshmallow.
To their credit the bartender did make a good martini but it wasn't enough to convince me they have kept their standards up over the years. For the location, food, and ambiance, Anthony's at Spokane Falls is a far better option these days. Don't bother with Clinks and just head down the road a bit for a better overall meal.
Great atmosphere and service. We were celebrating our anniversary and let them know. We received extra service including a desert. Food and menu selections exceptional. We had a view of the Spokane River and falls which made the evenign extra special. Highly recommended.
The prices here seem to have gone up and over time, some of my favorites have gone away. Corn bread has been long gone and now their spring salad with Maytag bleu cheese egg rolls and balsamic reduction is gone. So is their grapevine martini. However, they still have great steaks. The prime rib is consistently good and I love their horseradish. My wife has the Wagyu 40-day aged sirloin and it was great. She ate the whole thing which is very rare for her. Service was good and the view is amazing. Special occasion restaurant due to price, because you'll spend $90 just in entrees, not too mention extra for salads, drinks, appetizers and dessert.
As soon as we walked in the door I knew we were in for a treat. Reservations were made for 7:30, we were seated by 7:40, the crew were extremely attentive and knowledgeable. No complaints, from start to finish everything was top notch. The prime rib I ordered came out perfectly, flavors were spot on and complementary to each other, I can't wait to return.
Had a very good time. We were seated 5 minutes before our reservation time, and that was a plus. My steak came with kitchen fried potatoes, I was expecting a little more veggies.
Had my G'children along, and the hamberger was a little much for him. To many adds in the
sandwich. Oh, well, kids. Everybody else had a good meal.
Keep up the great work.
Went for a belated Christmas, newyears and birthday dinner, with my wife and parents. Was a great rustic warm old fashion setting, when we got there we asked if they had any tables available overlooking the river and we got one right by the window with a great view. And the food was wonderful, 3 of us had the salmon special and all of us agreed it was great. And they were very accommodating to various allergies present in our group. Also fun note, the toilet tanks in the bathroom are cool, they are placed very high up pulling a chain to flush. Added just a little more to the restaurant in my book. Would definitely recommend and would very much like to go again as well
We have enjoys eating there many times. Comfortable, good service, ample and diverse menu. On this occasion, my grand-daughters Fish and Chips from the Kids Menu was unsatisfactory. Neither the fish nor, the batter nor preparation were satisfactory and served only with some very mundane french fries made for a disappointing meal for her.
The rest of our 6 person party had a wide sampling of foods and generally were very pleased. The preparation of the vegetables, however, always a difficult restaurant challenge, failed.
I was a little disappointed because in the past when we went to Clinkerdaggers for our anniversary we got a complimentary dessert to share. That was not offered this time, my husband ordered a second beer, but after he had almost finished his meal she brought the wrong beverage that was for the table behind us and then when we got the bill we had been charged for the drink for the other table. Just a little mix up, but I was glad I checked my bill.
Make your reservations early for this fabulous place! It is so worth it. All the menu items were mouthwatering to just read; the scenery overlooking Spokane Falls was picturesque! Service was great, and the location for a pre-concert or post-concert meeting is perfect! It is withing walking distance of Riverfront Park, many park Hotels, the Spokane Arena, and downtown!
We haven't been to Clinkerdaggers in years. We ate outside when we first moved here in 2006, and the patio is lovely. I'm sure it's been 8 years since we've been. This is the first time we've eaten inside. It sure could use a facelift. Luckily it was an evening meal, and with dim lighting, one didn't notice how dated it is. And of course the view of the falls is outstanding. I ordered the filet mignon, medium rare with a vegetable medley and mashed potatoes. I have to say I was a bit disappointed by my steak. It was, of course, quite tender as filet's are supposed to be. But it wasn't a juicy steak, not even a little. When I cut into it, there's no juice. So Dry and tender, if that's possible. The vegetable medley was a bit of a mystery, as you couldn't tell if they were roasted, or pan fried, or what. But they were dry as well. Potatoes were fine. Caesar salad was great. My husband got the stuffed sole. It was executed perfectly, but it didn't have a whole lot of pizzazz to it. It tasted good though, as did the rice that came with it. So, I guess nothing was really WRONG with the whole experience, it was just underwhelming for the price. I bet I would still love it on a nice day on the patio, though.
Of course, it's always nice to go down to the flower mill. The ambiance in the whole building is amazing. Clinkerdagger's is no exception. The view is amazing and the service is always good. Our Burnt Cremes were not firm at all and our prime rib was a little tough around the outside. Not bad, but I've had better.
We had a great time and our server was fantastic. We attend because it was teacher appreciation and the special menu was intriguing. We were a little disappointed that the Crème Brule was not available. We also ordered a bottle of red blend and there quite a large amount of sediment left in two of the glasses. Perhaps the wine needs to be rotated or the broker needs to be contacted. It was most unappealing.
Clinks is one of our favorite special occasion locations. We are normally thrilled with every aspect of our visit - service and food. But last night, I was surprised with the server in particular. She was not friendly, seemed irritated by any questions we had and we felt very rushed to finish and leave. We had 4 teachers in our party and it was teacher appreciation nights and she didn’t mention that or acknowledge them at all. For the first time, I was really disappointed in our experience.
I will no longer recommend Clinkerdaggers to anyone who asks, nor will I ever go back as long as things stay the way they are. The food is simply not good anymore, and it is overpriced. We came in on educator night and ordered the prime rib. Mine was cold and under-cooked. The potatoes were bland and I had to doctor them up at the table with salt and the au jus from the Prime Rib. The "seasonal vegetables" were literally unrecognizable....as in I was unable to determine exactly what each vegetable was.... and tasted vile. I literally spit them out they were so disgusting. The portions were small, and, for the price, even at a discount, I felt it was a rip off. We were never offered any extra bread beyond the first serving, and only once did anyone refill our water or check to see if we wanted refills on our drinks from the bar. As far as ambiance goes....the restaurant is dark and dingy. The tables are sticky. It is LOUD and difficult to carry on a conversation, and the seating is cramped. The server we had has been there for years. I'm not sure what her name is, but she is sweet, so at least there was that. This restaurant needs a major overhaul from top to bottom. I am a history teacher, and normally love places like this for their historical value, but this place has lost its appeal for me. I honestly don't know why people continue to go here with all of the other wonderful restaurant options in Spokane, even with the historical connection. So many other places are doing it so much better than Clinkerdaggers. You guys need to up your game. Seriously.
