What Insiders Are Saying
Between the atmosphere, plating, and oh God, that cocktail menu, Cliff’s Edge hits on all cylinders when it comes to making your night feel like a NIGHT. Take note, Silver Lake: the finer things in life aren’t always boring.
Great dining experience. The locally sourced vegetables and meats were thoughtfully prepared. Not to much, but just enough sauce to compliment the beautifully prepared veggies and protein. Vine list was incredible!
Not especially well executed dishes although temptingly conceived.
We really enjoyed the ambience and decor of the restaurant. It felt like we were in some other part of the world as soon as we stepped in. Servers and host were all friendly and prompt. The food was fresh and light even for fried chicken. The brunch waffles were the lightest/airiest ones I’ve ever had. Drinks were potent and generous. Restrooms were clean. There were plenty of seating options that were out of the sun. We’d definitely go back to experience dinner.
Good brunch! They accomadated us on short notice for a large group in a really lovely setting, did not rush us which was a big plus since we were having a group catch up. Super relaxed and fun!
A hidden gem. In fact it is so well hidden unless you know exactly where it is you will drive by. There is no name on the outside of the nondescript building - but luckily we found it with the address. Once you step into the patio it is like another world. Very pretty tree covering all the patio and different levels of dining so there is a feeling of more space. Food and service were good and the value was good as well. Great brunch spot. Recommend reservations as it is busy on the weekends.
We had a wonderful time at Cliffs Edge. The food was delicious and the service even better. We will return again!
Second visit...first time several months ago was great. This evening, service was very slow and recommended cocktail was not well balanced/prepared and our shared main course was unsatisfactory (pasta was undercooked and mushrooms were rubbery and tough). We were not charged for the entree, but given the slow service, we did not want to wait for another to be prepared. Not sure we will return again..but .maybe because the ambiance is so lovely.
It was my 4th visit, never let me down. Great food and service.
Super unique dinner date. Wonderful food and incredible service! Didn't fail to meet my expectations.
Service was great, as was the food and drinks. 4 of the 6 party was late, no problem. They happily seated those who'd arrived. Wait staff was friendly and didn't kick is out as we shut it down for brunch. Wonderful experience!
Absolutely delicious! only issue really was the sun was shining right on top of me and they even offered to move an umbrella to cover me from the glare, but took them a while to do that. By the time I did we were already finishing brunch. Besides that one issue, service, timelines to be seated, etc were all great!
My Husband and I wanted to try a new place and Cliff's Edge was recommended by a friend. We got an amazing table, the service was wonderful, and we loved everything we ordered. A great experience all around. Looking forward to going again!
It was great! The food was delicious and the outdoor patio has the right combo of shade and afternoon sun. Great for brunch!
Fabulous food, great service with a smile, knowledgable about the menu, beautiful setting, and a great cocktail & wine list. Truly the best of Silverlake!
This place was so beautiful and the food was amazing !
The setting of this restaurant is absolutely marvelous, as if exported to a tropical island. The hostess greeted us warmly. We started with the chicken mousse pate, btw. by far the best pate we have ever had. The oysters, as one would expect, good. Following, we had the mussels and duck breast, both delicious. The waiter albeit professional, could have been a bit more friendly.
Went here on a Monday night after work for a special date. Great food and ambiance! If you're looking for a cozy, romantic neighborhood spot, this is it!
Loved the ambience and the food and the service was fine. I want to return for an evening meal and experience the lighting and the atmosphere
However, on the day I brunched there it was a little too humid out which made it uncomfortable to be outside for very long, and we had to wait a bit longer than I wanted to find our waiter to bring the check.
Great ambiance, food decent - mussels were delicious, steak a little fatty. My partner was not fussed. Service so-so - staff seemed harried and a little stressed. Busy night?
I'd go back for the ambiance. Great wine list too.
So it was my fiancé’s birthday and this is the place I chose. The lights and overall ambience is beautiful especially at night. We ate on the patio which has an elevated deck that gives off a treehouse vibe. The food was good, from the quality of the meats to the cocktails. Overall great experience and she was very pleased.
Very good clean, good quality food. Courteous service.
We been many time in this restaurant and never been disappointed.
I just wish they have more variety of seafood on the menu.
Food was good. Service left a lot to be desired. Our meals didn’t come out at once, the table had a broken leg, and we waited so long to be checked on by our waitress that we opted out of dessert.
I had a relative in town from the East Coast and wanted to find a unique dining experience for her. This restaurant was perfect for our dinner. The atmosphere is very different and has an almost tropical vibe. The food was very good and the service and price point were as well. Once you enter, it’s hard to remember your at Sunset Junction. I will be coming back.
Mushroom pasta was awesome, short rib was tender and tasty but didn't wow. Mussels were on the small size but good, also chives were cut too long and got in the way. Broccolini was delicious with perfect level of heat. Pot de creme was decadent with nice balance from the whipped cream and orange peel.
The planets were misaligned this particular Sunday Brunch because service was terrible. My mom and I were paired with two servers. One of which was possibly overwhelmed by the heat because it took more than awhile just to give our food order. The other— well, I spoke to the manager already. Nonetheless, I have eaten at Cliff’s Edge before and this was definitely a freak incident.
What a splendid spot for a Sunday brunch birthday celebration for two. The food was delicious, and we could hear ourselves talk. It was a super hot day so we opted for indoors and it was just what I wanted. Cliff's Edge made a special day perfect. He was a very happy birthday boy. Thanks!
Great spot if you want to escape and eat some delicious food. Seriously feels like you're not in Los Angeles. Super romantic and great ambiance with excellent cocktails. Nice for any occasion, but great for a date.
Cliff's Edge is having a renaissance -- Steve is The Greatest Bartender in Los Angeles.
They need AC for hot summer days/nights. Food was excellent though. Burger not so much.
Outstanding service and food!
Server was very good and personable/ tried a few apps all enjoyed .... food quality was very good / just one comment runner never smiled or told what each dish was. Other then that great experience.....
The food was very good. The seasonal soup (corn) was delicious as was the crispy octopus (our favorite dish of the night). The entrees (duck & snapper) we also very tasty. Unfortunately, the service was not as smooth as we had hoped for. We had an 8:15 reservation and were not seated until close to 9:00, which was unacceptable. The restaurant offered no explanation or apology. Based on that alone we will not be going back.
Celebrating my birthday at Cliff’s Edge was absolutely the best! So much beauty all around & everything was just wonderful.
This was a wonderful discovery. Everything about the meal was great. Very creative (but not fussy) food.
AMAZING MENU... AMAZING EXPERIENCE!!! We celebrated a special anniversary and enjoyed all of it: from the oysters to the octopus and the delicious creme de chocolat!!! J'ADORE!
The food, atmosphere, service were fabulous. We went several years ago and the food was good. With the new chef, incredible . It was my 67th birthday and no one treated me like an old guy...not one Millennial treated me that way, which is rare!
The food just didn't live up to how great it sounded on the menu...... the service was lovely though and there was nothing to really send back.... it just wasn't that good. The latte tasted off. The pancakes were eh, and the homemade biscuits were luke warm.... just not a thrilling experience.
Brought my wife on a date after looking up nice date spots to go to in LA. The restaurant location is typical of LA, barely any place to park, which if you're from the area you know how to manage. My first impression of the restaurant is that it is impressively decorated and detailed in the ambiance they want to portray.
We got seated right away and they took our drink orders in a prompt fashion. The restaurant can feel a bit crowded and loud stealing from the desire of romantic and intimate that you might want in a date, so I wouldn't recommend this place for a date night.
Out waitress was very kind, knowledgeable and courteous. She gave us good recommendations, but she seemed to be overloaded on the amount of tables she was handling because she scarcely showed up to check on us, which was a bit disappointing.
The food was ok but I am being biased. The menu is catered to those that fancy an alternative dietary lifestyle. The food lacked a bit of flavor in my opinion. The drinks were amazing however.
The way in which we closed our check was a bit weird and I was really put off by it because I didn't really see anyone do that before, as the waitress brought the cc machine to our table. I would think a restaurant like this would have a better process to close out tabs.
Overall it was a good experience. I would probably return for appetizers and drinks but not on a date.
Overall, the food and ambience were wonderful. We arrived a little earlier than our reservation and there was plenty of seating available. Fifteen minutes later, the place was packed. The only complaint I have is that the waiter did not write anything down, and as a result several of our items were wrong, such as my son got the wrong beer, one of the items on the cured meats plate was wrong. However, he just brought us the correct items and left the additional items at no charge. The only other thing was that the plates didn’t arrive at the same time, and my wife’s entree showed up 15 minutes after everyone else’s. Other than that, we thoroughly enjoyed our evening there. Last note, like many places in Silver Lake they have a tiny valet parking lot, but if you arrive early enough you can probably find street parking
Food is creative. Ask for an upper level table for better ambience. The waitress told us the kitchen likes it better if you place the entire order at one time so they can time it, but what happened was they dumped all the courses on the table at about the same time. That was really unpleasant - just order your starters and place the main course orders when you are ready for them.
