My girlfriend and I had a reservation for dinner at 7. We were having an after dinner drink at 8:20 when I think it was the bartender starting turning off the lights and asking us if we had an uber. She then asked what time was our ride coming. I would never go to this restaurant again and I'll make sure I let everyone I know about this rude treatment
Our food was served so quickly it reminded us of being at a wedding.....
The food was terrific, complements to the chef, the service was great, very friendly and knowledgeable, not pushy. The couple we brought for the first time were truly impressed and will definitely be back.
We love restaurant. Room was too far away from music. Party of 6-7 with small child very loud. Complained to waitress she shrugged shoulders. Very disconcerting and made for a very unpleasant dinner affair.
The evening was a joy. Excellent service and great tasting food. You won't be disappointed.
This was my second visit to Clay Hill Farms and I would definitely return when I am in the area. My friend made her first visit with me and is ready to come back again. If only we lived closer to Ogunquit.
Good food. Desert was amazing. We did not receive the best attention from our waiter. It was my birthday and I expected I’d receive a complimentary desert.
Throughly enjoyed , it is our favorite for after theater(matinee) dining.
ATMOSPHERE EXCELLENTE. QUALITE PRIX DANS LA MOYENNE.Early bird avec le 2e plat gratuit.iL le charge a moitie prix quand meme.
Wait staff was exceptional
Overall Clayhill Farm has been much better in the past. It was a group of friends celebrating birthdays. We started with the salads. I had Caesar, which was excellent. Richard had the Spinach salad, which was a bit "miserly" for the price. A few of us also had the Butternut Squash soup, which I loved. Richard thought it was too sweet. He's a chef, so he's spoiled by his own versions. For our mains..half had the seafood stuffed Haddock, the other half had the lemon Haddock. The fish itself was fine. The stuffing, however was as bland as possible. I thought it was definitely NOT made in house. It should have had a Ritz cracker base. Overall, we've had far superior food here. I'm attributing it to a "weekend" chef & not them head chef. I hope I'm correct in this.
From the moment we arrived to the time we left there wasn't anything I didn't like. The staff were very friendly and helpful when making a food choice. There was some entertainment that was just right, not too loud. We could still carry on a conversation without having to yell. The food was spectacular from the appetizers to the dessert. My husband and I will definitely go back. Well worth the 50 minute ride.
Excellent service and staff. When we were not sure if we could get an UBER ride back to Ogunquit, the staff said they would give us a ride. Very classy place with great food and service.
We got married at Clay Hill one year ago (Oct. 1, 2016) and went back this past weekend to celebrate our anniversary. We had the most amazing dinner! The food is so fresh and delicious, and the ambiance makes it the perfect place to celebrate a romantic evening. What makes Clay Hill such a wonderful place, however, is the staff. Jen and Rachel coordinated our wedding, and every time we come back to visit and get to see them, it feels like we're seeing family. They made sure our anniversary dinner was perfect, and even brought out our dessert with a candle singing "Happy Anniversary"! Clay Hill and everyone that works there holds a special place in our hearts. <3
The atmosphere is very pleasant and quiet. Gorgeous old farm house. During the winter the fireplace is going so it's cozy. My husband had excellent prime rib. I had the haddock served two different preparations but unfortunately both were dry and or overdone. I was disappointed. The lobster bisque was excellent.
The food was excellent, the service was great, and the ambience was peaceful.
Prime rib was terrible. Risortto with my fish was disappointing. My fist glass of wine, my glass had many waterspots in glass and second glass had dirty rim spots. Just left without complaining as we were celebrating our 50'th wedding anniversary. We have been there before and was looking forward to a great meal. Too bad.
Lovely garden views, nice atmosphere with a jazz guitarist, excellent food and service made for a wonderful evening.
Wonderful meal, great service and I must say the Lobster 2 ways was wonderful!!
The food was wonderful, the wait could not have been nicer and more professional. I was happy see the unoaked wine .
and James was adorable and a top notch Matre d- when he ever pulled the chair out for to be seated.
My husband and I went for a special evening out while visiting the area. The setting is out of the town area but a perfect secluded quiet place. The staff were very attentive and professional. Everything we ordered was well prepared and the portions were generous to say the least! The quiet environment was a welcome change to other places we had been during our visit to the area. If you want a nice quiet place in a scenic area to be able to enjoy your dining with great food, this is it! The piano music was great but not too loud as not to be able to enjoy conversations with my husband. Enjoyed the evening greatly!
This was our first visit and it was recommended by a friend for after theater dinner. It was fabulous. Beautiful inside with beautiful views of outside. Our server Brenda made us feel relaxed and special. She even has a history with the farm house. The food was excellent and a work of art. There were six of us and everyone was happy! Good place for a special occasion. Piano player Katherine, added light music to the background. It is a magical place. My husband and I enjoyed the experience!
Wonderful location and meal as usual. Great personal service and attention to detail.
This place makes you feel like you are in a retirement home it's so old feeling and the clientele is also very much older. We started with the lobster bisque and fried zucchini and both were just ok. For entrees we had the seafood stuffed haddock and the lobster two ways. Both were very good but nothing special. Although we had two people waiting on us it seemed like the service was just ok and disconnected. Id go back if there were no other options but I wouldn't go out of my way for this restaurant
My wife and I have been to Clay Hill Farm several times and once again everything was outstanding. We were celebrating our 42nd anniversary and the food, service and ambiance was excellent. The food and cocktails are always well prepared and the service is performed with style and professionalism. The ambiance is not overdone with muted dining room noise conducive to quiet conversation. The background piano makes for a nice diversion. We will be visiting Clay Hill Farm again for our next special occasion.
We were married at Clay Hill Farm 20 years ago and went back for our Anniversary. Host and server were both aware it was our 20th but did not acknowledge or welcome us back. Food was bland and very expensive for what was a less than average meal. I had the stuffed Haddock and my husband has the Prime Rib. We will not be returning.
From the time my husband and I arrived at venue for dinner, 30 minutes prior to our reservation everything was rushed. It was supposed to be a relaxing evening to celebrate our wedding anniversary. They had us in and out within an hour. Hot appetizer was served lukewarm. Dinner was acceptable not worthy of value.
Clay Hill Farm has had it's ups and downs. It is currently up and I am thankful for that. I have enjoyed many memories at Clay Hill and wish it the very best.
Looking forward to returning
Service was awful. Waitress was very inattentive and entire wait staff seemed frantic. Food was good but a very long wait to get it. Not even an apology from the waitress for the very long wait.
I have planned to got t o Clay Hill Farm for many visits to Ogunquit- Sept 10 was a lovely time to go for a wonderful meal.
Lovely location with an excellent choice of items on the menu. Beautiful presentation complimented by delicious food. Attentive staff and altogether pleasant evening
Our experience at Clay Hill was excellent because we knew the Hostess and were able to correct our reservation. When I reserved through open table I requested a particular table in the main dining room. Not only did they have the table wrong with the reservation, but we were going to be seated in the wrong room. I will not be using open table in the future. I'll take my chances calling the restaurant direct.
Wonderful dinner to celebrate our anniversary! We got married here and it is always fun to return. Grounds are beautiful and a window table gave us lovely view. Service is good. Food was delicious. Lobster bisque is outstanding! My husband enjoyed the crab and avocado salad and the duck with confit leg. The lobster two ways was a fabulous presentation and a delicious meal (it's a lot of food so I took some home). We had a package deal from our B&B but no room for 2 desserts so we split the brownie sundae (good) and they packed up the flourless chocolate cake with raspberry sauce to take home (outstanding!). We also enjoyed good service at the bar while waiting for our table and the entertainment provided by the piano player. Thanks again Clay Hill for another wonderful evening!
Was disappointing -food ok
We had 7:45 reservation and were last to leave at 8:45 - guess it is an early crowd
We had dined there many times -many years ago - very different experience
Needs an update/grounds are beautiful
Carrie was our server and I cannot say enough about her. It was like being in a friend's home, warm and inviting.
We've never been disappointed! Excellent menu choices and service to match. The lobster bisque is the best in the seacoast!
My party of four enjoyed our meal at Clay Hill Farm. We are all local to the area so we actually go to this restaurant on a fairly regular basis and are always satisfied with the service and the food. No complaints here. We would recommend Clay Hill to anybody visiting Ogunquit who doesn't want to eat in the touristy places but wants a good meal.
Lovely anniversary dinner at Clay Hill Farm. The lobster was amazing and the rest of the food was excellent. Service was gracious.
Fine service from the moment we arrived at the restaurant; the valet parking was appreciated, the welcoming host took us to a corner garden view table and attentive service began immediately. The shrimp cocktail was terrific and the entrees of haddock and swordfish, both cooked to perfection, were some of the best presentations we have had in the seacoast area. Will return soon.
