Lobster Bisque Shooters
Chef's Seasonal Presentation
Seafood Stuffed Haddock
My steak was good and tender but it could have been cooked a little longer. Perhaps medium rare PLUS is not a recognized term and could have been my fault.
We had a very enjoyable dining experience. However, entrées could’ve been served hotter.
The food was good but the clientele was ill mannered , loud and dressed so casually , you would think you were at a baseball game .
Farm house restaurant with some country club vibes in the beautiful coastal Maine woods. Food was good, but some dishes could use a tad more seasoning. Piano music and service were a lovely touch for our anniversary dinner.
Anniversary which included a wonderful card at the end of our meal. Very thoughtful. The service was amazing. The atmosphere with live piano music and location. And to top it off a wonderfully prepared meal
The food preparations seemed dated. My wife's Surf and Turf special was an overcooked pork chop, accompanied with salty shrimp. My stuffed haddock dish was drowned in an overly buttery sauce that totally overwhelmed the taste of the fish.
And the pork belly appetizer was horrible, large chunks of undercooked pork belly which were rubbery and tasteless. The red cabbage was the best part of that dish.
I got sick that night. Was it the pork belly? The butter content? We'll never know.
We had a delightful birthday celebration here while on vacation. The atmosphere was great (long glass wall on one side made you feel as if you were outside, fireplace in front of the room, candles). The food was great (especially the lobster bisque - but expensive!), the drinks were nice too. We especially enjoyed the singing duo - songs we all know, but in a peaceful way, with great harmonies - it made our night! Plenty of parking, off the beaten path.
Lovely spot but we were disappointed in the food.
While it had been a few years since our last visit, Clay Hill did not disappoint. Food, service, and atmosphere were excellent.
Expertly prepared food in a classic and charming rustic setting. Excellent service from hostess and servers. Great menu selections and piano player was a nice touch, as was propane heater on a lovely deck for our outdoor dinner.
The perfect spot to have a fantastic dinner before heading to the Ogunquit Playhouse.
We had an early dinner after going to the Playhouse. Plenty of free parking and great service from the moment we arrived. The bread and butter were tasty, but we could have done with more of it. Escargot were buttery, but not super flavorful; the calamari with kimchi was delcious. We ordered the salmon and the prime rib. The salmon was well cooked, and the prime rib was delicious. We took half of it home. We had plenty to eat, passed on dessert. Coffee was good. We had a lovely meal!
Absolutely love it here! Cocktails, food and ambiance all wonderful
The meall was great. The strip steak and the baked stuffed haddock was very good as well. Great presentation. Excellent service and the ambiance of a New England Farmhouse Restaurant with lots of charm
Love this restaurant. Great food, service and atmosphere.
The service was great and the food was excellent. It was wonderful to go back to the place we got married. Highly recommend
Absolutely wonderful! The food was DELICIOUS! The BEST lobster bisque ever- and the duck entree was so tasty as was the crab and lobster stuffed fish. The service too was outstanding. A truly memorable meal.
Lovely place for a nice meal.
Service quite good, (leisurely - they give you plenty of time to choose and enjoy - not good if you are in a hurry.)
Food very well prepared yummy.
Wonderful experience. I had been there years ago and wanted to see if it still had the charm and quality service. Yes it did.
Outstanding dining experience. Excellent presentation, great food and attentive service.
Always a delightful experience. The lobster bisque and the stuffed haddock are both amazing. The raspberry buckle was a featured dessert and had just the right amount of sweetness. The staff is always pleasant and attentive.
Perfect place for a dinner after the play. Great food, beautiful setting, and wonderful background music!! The waitstaff was attentive and informative!!
Beautiful setting; good food with attentive service & enjoyable live music. Will return.
Piano player the night we went that just added to the great ambiance! Service was great and good evening better - recommend the NY Strip, Stuffed fish, lobster and shrimp scampi. Drinks are on point!
As always, an amazing experience! The location, the food, and the waitstaff was exceptional.
Food was very good. Drinks were average. Had two waitresses and one was great the other was very rushed.
This was our second visit to Clay Hill Farm. I booked to celebrate my husband's 70th birthday. We did have to wait fifteen minutes for the window table requested, but it was worth the wait. There was a muscian playing piano and it was very pleasant. Once seated, our server was very friendly and professional. Our apps, salad and main meal were all delicious. We will be back! Jere
Lovely atmosphere, beautiful grounds and excellent service. We had the beef and shrimp special and stuffed seafood dishes. We were headed to the playhouse and felt relaxed and week served.
Fine service, great food, beautiful setting. Especially enjoyed the atmosphere and setting of the establishment. Plus service staff and welcoming personnel were especially attentive. A special treat was the escargot appetizer.
The service was horrible… Our meals were not hot so we sent them back and it took a long time for them to come back. Never received an apology and did not want to take anything off the bill… The service was horrible which was a disappointment as we were there for my husband‘s birthday. We would not go back or recommend this restaurant.
Special occasion, anniversary! Beautiful setting, wonderful, professional service. Always love the food, variety of offerings paired with wine recommendations. We will definitely go there every year when we come to Ogunquit, off the beaten path and very relaxing.
Beautiful location, exceptional service. Sitting outside was lovely and peaceful. The food was excellent. I had the chef's seasonal special which was haddock with broccolini and mashed potatoes. To end the evening we had the creme brulee, it was delicious! I will be recommending Clay Hill Farm to my family and friends.
It was our First night in Maine for vacation and the meal, timing, and service were spot on. We thoroughly enjoyed everything about Clay Hill Farms. The atmosphere is amazing and staff friendly.
As a family we have been going to clay hill for 40 years. It is always great service, food is excellent and the staff is wonderful!
The location and service was awesome but the food was absolutely pitiful. I hate leaving bad reviews, but we literally laughed at how bad our food was. I got the prime rib ($43 market price) with mashed potatoes and broccolini and I couldn’t detect one seasoning on any portion. The steak was one solid color and tasted literally like nothing. The only saving grace was the horseradish sauce they served with it and I had to dunk each piece of meat in it for it to taste like anything. The mashed potatoes and broccolini, completely tasteless. Couldn’t see even a spec of pepper. My husband got the chefs special which was a roasted haddock with lemon and mashed potatoes. His entire plate was one solid color, white. You couldn’t even taste the lemon somehow. Both meals I swear had not even one dash of any seasoning. And you could be thinking we had covid with no taste, but nope, the food was just that bad. We were also the youngest people in the entire restaurant by about 20-25 years so we thought maybe they cater the food to older taste buds? No idea.
We’ve never had a meal that pricey and that awful. We did have the brussell sprouts for an appetizer and those were awesome and full of flavor which made our entree a total mystery on how it could be so bad.
Our server was great and we still tipped appropriately because the food wasn’t her fault. And sitting outside was nice and peaceful. Again, I hardly ever write bad reviews and hate doing so, but we came here from Texas on our babymoon and spent $$$$ for the worst meal we’ve honestly ever eaten.
Wonderful 33rd wedding anniversary!
Excellent dinner in a lovely environment. Very good service by very nice servers
Our favorite place to dine. Everything was typically nice but the steaks were not as good as usual.
The setting was beautiful, like going to an old friend’s home for dinner. The food was amazing, service was great, even gave my husband a birthday card with his dessert. This was the first trip of many to dine here!
Food was lukewarm, mediocre at best.
Service was fantastic
