Clay Hill Farm
Lobster Bisque Shooters
Chef's Seasonal Presentation
Parmesan, Vidalia Onion & Lemon Emulsion, Hearts of Romaine, Crostini
Food was good. Grilled lobster tail was excellent. Piano was too loud and the song choice was too Muzak for my taste. Otherwise, nice place to take a friend or spouse to dinner.
Always a wonderful experience. Food is amazing and the wait staff is very attentive
We love to come to Clay Hill any time. Spring and summer for sure. For us winter people it is also charming, The food and service is outstanding. We highly recommend it. Special occasions are very wonderful here.
We had our wedding dinner at Clay Hill Farm 20 years ago and have been returning since. The ambience and food is outstanding. Service is impeccable without being overbearing. Clay Hill makes one feel like family as soon as you walk in the door.
My husband and I celebrated our 20th anniversary with friends last week. We were seated at the same table as we had 20 years ago. Our waitress took our camera and snapped our pictures in front of the fireplace even before we were seated. She then had the bartender mix my favorite blood orange martini. The special of the evening was my all time Clay Hill favorite, rib of lamb. As always it was perfect. My husband and our friends had prime rib. It was done to perfection. Our meal was paired with the perfect wine.
If you haven’t yet found Clay Hill Farm you are missing a special treat.
The service was exceptional. Prime rib was to die for and cooked to perfection! One person had the seafood stuffed haddock and remarked that it was good but had too much pepper. We also has dessert. I had the Carmel Sunday and would go back just for that. Someone in our party had the Strawberry Cheese Cake and they thought there could have been a little more strawberries in it. All in all, a delightful experience with the food, piano player and staff and would recommend this establishment to all.
service was fine, atmosphere was a little dated .being in the food industry more attention should be taken on tasting what's coming out of the kitchen (seasoning and quality) fish over peppered and prime rib 30%fat off season may be factor will try again
Always a pleasure...make memories.
The lobster bisque was fabulous! Everything was wonderful and we had a great time. I would recommend this to anyone who would like a special night out.
The lobster bisque is phenomenal! Service was very good.
My guests prime rib was incredible, she got the prime rib, goat chesse mashed potatoes and it came with a well-balanced horseradish sauce. I got the roast duck pappardelle, and I must say I was a little underwhelmed. There was minimal roast duck, the pappardelle was VERY thick and awkard (think double-thick linguini), and the mushroom ragu, while delicious, did not stand out in any way. I felt that all of my meal had one monotonous "brown" taste that, while flavorful, felt like a crock-pot meal since everything tasted the same.
Wait staff was awesome, but there is nothing worse than waiting an exceedingly long time during the payment process. I do not want to wait for 30 minutes for my check to arrive.
Valentines Day dinner. Food excellent. Service very timely considering the place was packed. I’d go there again
needs a facelift and the food was poor... not impressed.
Fantastic atmosphere and meals
The Clay Hill Farm was a great experience. All the staff was friendly. The food was amazing. I look forward to our next visit.
My wife and I enjoy Clay Hill Farm. This event was Valentine’s Day and also our 50th wedding anniversary.
This is a great place for special events.
It was great to have live music to listen to while dining
We love this place! The food, bartender and ambience is amazing!!
I am gluten free and don’t eat red meat, so my options were limited. I opted for soup, which was delicious, but I found my Caesar salad to be underwhelming—bland dressing, not-so-fresh lettuce and no Parmesan. I was also surprised that there was nothing offered in terms of bread for your gluten free patrons. Even a couple of crackers would be better than surreptitiously removing the bread plate, leaving me to watch everyone enjoy their roles. However, my four companions were complete delighted with their meals and drinks. We hope to return soon, and I would loooove some other GF options.
We enjoyed the great food and service we had at Clay Hill Farm. This is a very special place and we look forward to are next visit.
Staff is amazing, food is always delicious. The atmosphere is nice and cozy, with soft piano in the background and warm fireplace seating. Highly recommend!!
The food is always outstanding- we love this restaurant and look forward to special occasions for an excuse to visit!
Nice ambiance. Great place to celebrate an important event like a birthday or anniversary. Very professional waitstaff and not noisy. We so enjoyed the piano music. :-)
This was our second time at Clay Hill Farms, both for New Year's eve celebrations. The food was excellent the first time and even better the second time. The restaurant is in an old farmhouse and is pleasant and inviting. The service was excellent, maybe a little slow, but to be expected with the large New Year's crowd. There were four of us in our party and all were very pleased with the food and service. I will definitely be back again and highly recommend the restaurant.
Where food goes to die. The occasion was New Year’s Eve. We arrived at 7:30 and we were seated promptly and after taking and delivering our drinks we were abandoned for the next hour and a quarter. We did get one roll however. The food was fully priced but did not live up to it. The value proposition was very poor. Fish over cooked, prime rib seems to have been run over by an 18 wheeler, mashed potatoes hard. Airline food would have been a better choice. On a personal level I was struck by the age of the crowd so this place might have been good once upon a time. Not anymore. I would avoid this place at all costs.
My wife and I always enjoy Clay Hill Farm where a special occasion or just for a nice evening out.
This is the first time I've ever eaten out on Christmas day so I selected a restaurant that we've been going to for over 20 years. Maybe I should have had lowered my expectations because it was a holiday, but I was disappointed from the moment we were seated. I had requested a table in the first room, near the fire place and windows, when the reservation was first made months in advance and again when it was confirmed weeks in advance. The hostess noted the request when we arrived but said it might be a little wait. When I asked how long of a wait she went to check and returned to say that we should wait as it will be worth it. About ten minutes later we were escorted to the farthest room from the one we had been promised and seated at a table in the middle, away from any windows. The food was mediocre compared to what we've known in the past and though our waitress was very good it was going to be hard for her to make up for the disappointing table and food. I think that was our last visit to Clay Hill Farm.
Food and atmosphere was outstanding! I would recommend this restaurant to anyone!
I'd heard about the restaurant for YEARS but had never eaten here. I needed to find a place that was open on Christmas for dinner (not brunch) for my in-laws. I'm so glad we came here. The ambiance was cosy and warm, there was plenty of room between tables so there was no worry of eavesdropping, the food came just on time for each course. Our servers were very pleasant and knowledgeable. My in-laws couldn't have been more pleased. I want to come back during the summer months to check out the patio space. Thank you so much.
Thank you for a delicious dinner and a gracious celebration of our 58th wedding anniversary! Staff and food were fabulous. Loved the artistic card!
Our two waitresses were fantastic and the food outstanding. We loved all the holiday decorations too. The valet was great, very efficient. Thank you for making our visit so enjoyable.
Dinner with 6 friends was great at Clay Hill Farm. Quiet for conversation, piano in the background. And of course the food was perfect!
I will try it again. I think wait staff needs to check back with their parties re: food prep, taste, etc... or more cocktails. Big party and one prime rib too rare to eat so member never ate as wait staff didn’t return. It wasn’t that busy.
Have been there many times and have never had a bad meal. Try to eat there every time we get to Maine.
This is a wonderful place to relax in a casual atmosphere and enjoy delicious food. The service is outstanding and you will have a great social experience.
We were there for our anniversary and were in a room with two big loud parties. It was hard for a coversation with just two people. Would have preferred the smaller front room for smaller parties.
Lovely ambiance. My husband is hearing impaired and the noise level was very low which made for a very enjoyable evening. Server was very knowledgeable and made good recommendations. Service was excellent, well paced. Food was very good. We will definitely return.
We had another great night out at Clay Hill Farm. Perfect to celebrate our anniversary and introduce our friends to a terrific dining spot in Ogunquit. Everything about our dinner was perfect. Thank you!
Another great dinner at Clay Hill Farm to celebrate our November birthdays. The food was delicious, service great, all in a gorgeous setting in the woods off the coast of Maine.
Cozy and inviting ambiance. Interior tables could use more lighting since they’re further from wall sconces. Great service and the food was delicious. Grounds were beautiful.
Relaxing nice live music playing in the background but not to loud. We were able to have a quiet conversation and still listen to the guitar player. Service was attentive but not rushing us. Food was well prepared and so delicious. Nice selections and variety.
